love that Robert is finally stealing bases. just start hitting the ball hard again. he may actually have more stolen bases than hits.

"fluctuating rate field" is the bit the red sox commentator just did. genuinely funny.

JR playing politics with Comcast...
do they actually have leverage? we have the internet these days. if you really wanted to, you could watch Sox games for free in high definition. it's very easy and nobody seems to care about shutting down the streaming sites, they've been going strong for over a decade. in the next 20 years, the average person will be savvy enough to figure this out. I'm also waiting for advertising to stop working and the entire business model goes up in flames.

Sox "way behind everyone else" Lance Lynn
He may be right, he just sounds like a spurned ex-girlfriend. Get over it, Lance. Some people have the mind to shut up about it when asked (Giolito). Don't hear Cease running his mouth either. It would be more meaningful if players who were still any good were talking.

This guy is a buffoon. He acts like he wasn't part of the problem. Very funny when Stone made fun of his weight.

Chase Meidroth getting promoted
That's kind of like saying "I don't want the #1 overall draft pick because my team is just going to blow it". The value of "7>6" is pretty clear I think. The team gets an additional non-guaranteed, low-paid year in exchange for, like, 10 games. Pretty unfair to players TBH, I know they've tried to correct service time manipulation, but they haven't done a great job and this is pretty blatant. Maybe the deadline needs to be much later.

it reminds me of the Bears. the city is cursed.

LuBob's hacks a foot off the plate make sense in the context that this umpire is terrible and is calling those pitches strikes

Fiery column...
I think that guy should've just posted his blogpost here. It's a forum post, not something you should be paid to publish. Also, I feel like comparing Getz to Trump is kind of a stretch. I guess it's a novel way to say "the Sox suck" without really having a unique perspective on baseball or insight into the team. This one might've needed a little more editing -- before being ready to post on SoxTalk.

Vasil has pitched 7 scoreless innings, only allowed 2 hits.

White Sox making best swing decisions in MLB so far
Robert has been terrible to start the season but his approach at the plate has clearly "advanced". His walk rate is way up (almost double, though it's just 40 plate appearances) and is in the 72nd percentile of MLB to start the season. He's laying off obviously bad pitches and even close pitches. But I worry he's "thinking too much" compared to his typical free-swinging style and can't make contact anymore. Is he a good enough player to put it all together? I think so. The offense is terrible again but qualitatively it looks better than it did last year. There have already been two offensive explosions, was there a single one last season? You have to imagine it takes time for players to make adjustments. Of course we saw Maton hit the hardest ball of his career, Sosa and Baldwin look like they might be improved offensively. Cool post, pretty surprising that they're "number 1" in any hitting category, but it strikes me as accurate. Now tell me what Vaughn's problem is.

Sox at Guards
I genuinely think Clev walked him on purpose because the run was unearned and he knew he was giving up a grand slam otherwise. What a moron. nvm, they scored Vaughn's error a hit. still, 1 is fewer than 4.
-
Sox at Guards
I'm surprised it's taking so long. I guess Clev would have to throw something over the plate.

Sox at Guards
he might actually walk if he did that

Bulls are @ Cavs tonight. Would love to come away with 2 wins from that irrelevant place.

2025 Old Sock Drawer
Farm Boy is crushing it. It's 30 plate appearances so we'll see if it continues, but it's a huge indictment on the org if he has a .800+ ops season with San Diego. Like it'll be the most obvious evidence to me that the Sox cannot produce hitters. watched Greg Santos give up a walkoff the other night. Then walk a bunch of guys the next day. I wonder if the 1.59 ERA can be sustained with a 5.71 FIP. Maybe he stops walking guys because his stuff looks...better. Tim Hill continues to have a role with one of the best teams in baseball. Brebbia hasn't given up a run this year, pitching 3 scoreless innings against us (easy to do). I guess my point is, why are all these guys better on other teams? I thought we had the pitcher whisperer.

Resilient White Sox/AL Central Attendance, somehow up 1.8% YoY for first 21 home dates
I think this is the key. There are A LOT this year and some of them actually look pretty good. Pretty sure they have a 'night' for every ethnicity under the sun now. How will the hats look? I think the marketing (or whatever) department has adjusted pretty well to the terrible team. The campfire milkshake likely put more butts in seats than any player did. 'Star Wars, Bring Your Dog to a Picnic with Fireworks Night' stands to be a sellout.
