Another sad non hitting game by Colson and another deer in the headlights night by our manager and an overall dismaying evening on most accounts. Why the hell Venable didn’t have Sam bunt the man over in the tenth is beyond all human conception.

I’m thinking along the lines that Getz is convinced that this team has reached its zenith and just doesn’t have the juice (even with a blockbuster trade or two) to stay atop their division for much longer and that he is now focused on next year and the years to come.

According to Steve Stone (sometime earlier this season) the fallout from a 3am type arrival doesn’t effect the game you’re playing that day but rather the game the following day…..which will be tomorrow.

Colson Montgomery does not belong in the major leagues. His at-bats have been just as bad (or maybe even worse) than Romo’s. Colson looks unfixable.

He will probably seek low-cost roster depth or promote internal talent rather than making high cost acquisitions or panic selling.

Look out. The Minnesota Twins are just a couple of sneezes away from taking over 1st place. If we are in 3rd place come Monday morning Getz may very well pull the plug on 2026.
