He would hit more homers if he had any patience and wasn’t swinging at every bad pitch thrown his way. His current BB to strikeout rate is eerily close to last year, and both are bad.

I would not be surprised if the Sox tried to make him a full-time CF. Either way, BAD. You can have great tools but you still have to be able to hit. How did this guy make the MLB’s top 100 list two years in a row (#71 in 2023, #93 in 2024)?

I didn’t think the Sox could target a worse option than Vientos, but apparently I was wrong. We could have a nice collection of some of the weakest hitting 2B of all time.

He would be cheap to bring back via salary arbitration and start in RF next season as a bridge to Braden Montgomery. Jerry likes cheap. Regardless, with Montgomery on the horizon and Benintendi unfortunately signed for two more seasons (2026 and 2027), it wouldn’t make much sense to sign a free agent corner outfielder for multiple years in the offseason.

It’s only 57 plate appearances with his new team but he’s hitting like Bonds in his prime right now, not just a little bit. I do agree that he will cool down eventually and his awful first half with the Sox will neuter his overall WAR on the season.

He’s telling other GMs — “Hey, look at what Vaughn is doing for the Brewers! Robert will do the same. Players just improve when they leave our team!” 🤣

I think this makes a lot of sense. Day game after a night game, righty Taijuan Walker on the mound for the Phillies, off day on Thursday (trade deadline day). No reason to risk injury to Robert. I even question starting Houser tomorrow over doing a bullpen day.

I question that he keeps it up. Doesn’t mean it’s not hilarious that he does this as soon as he leaves the lowly Sox. He is possibly earning himself millions right now after he was sent to the minors by the Sox and looking like a non-tender in the offseason if he remained with the team all season. That’s what is amazing.
