  1. Robert getting injured wouldn’t be a surprise either.
  2. Bwahahahaha… get rid of this scrub already. He’s a walking injury just like his bust brothers. He will find a way to get injured within this last week before the deadline, won’t he?
  3. I’d put my money on Gilbert.
  4. Getz bringing him back was questioned heavily, not that he was expensive ($900K). Just that his season was fluky as hell.
  5. A deal must be close. It’s one thing to not want him to get injured before the deadline, but they would have to sit him for another week.
  6. Well, I assume they are assuming that the Sox would pick up his option and try dealing him next season, but we know Jerry isn’t approving that $20 million dollar option.
  7. That would be the second guy to retire from trade returns last year. Trey McGough from the Eloy trade already retired.
  8. This is why the playing time for youth is usually more valuable than whatever you end up getting for these mediocre vet signings.
  9. Too big of an ask for Jerry. He’d rather get back lesser prospects and save the money.
  10. Him alone is a heist for Ryan freaking McMahon.
  11. Cubs gonna get Suarez now?
  12. Please don’t get shellacked, #2 trade bait.
  13. True, but Soto isn’t exactly a stud reliever.
  14. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2025/07/padres-interested-in-luis-robert-jr-ramon-laureano.html
  15. I remember Kenny used to love Chone and tried to acquire him a couple times.
  16. Fake news. Read the press release again (paragraphs 2 and 3). https://www.mlb.com/amp/press-release/press-release-white-sox-announce-long-term-ownership-investment-agreement.html Let’s actually be upset at the future owner of the White Sox for not spending money on the team when he is actually officially the owner. Meanwhile, Jerry hasn’t spent money on the team for years and yet you always seem to defend him. Strange…
  17. I can see Getz spending some money but I still think it will be more of the same. $30+ million spread out amongst a bunch of C tier free agents, just like always.

Anyone who was a kid in the 80’s and 90’s and was a wrestling fan knows he was a huge part of their memories. From the matches with Iron Sheik, Andre passing the torch to him, the Macho Man and Miss Elizabeth feud, Ultimate Warrior, to his rebirth in WCW as Hollywood with the nWo and his long feud with Crow Sting. I remember watching all of that stuff back when wrestling was at its pinnacle.
  19. He was? Most of his trade rumors never came to fruition. Do you not remember him pining for Gavin Lux all offseason long? I mean, if he truly had Sox connections and Getz wanted to trade for a 2B with only 2 years left of control during a rebuild, he’s a worse GM than most of us already think. Meanwhile, Lux has played more LF and DH for the Reds than 2B, he’s still not that great of a hitter, and is currently only worth 0.2 bWAR. Also, the guy was obviously biased as he hated any player Hahn had acquired (Sosa, Lee), yet loved any player than Getz acquired (Vargas).
  20. I thought you were trolling. I said the same about Getz signing Thor — to make a few extra ticket sales late in the season. I still think it’s partially true. Afterall, he was never going to be ready to pitch and potentially flip by the deadline and anyone can eat bad innings late in the season. You don’t need to sign a once “big name” just to eat innings late in a losing season and it’s not like they have a 2026 option on Syndergaard in his deal.
  21. And even if they do want a starter, they may have a bad taste in their mouth about Houser considering how he pitched for them last year. Go crazy… Robert, Martin, Sosa, and Wilson for SPECTS++
  22. He was definitely the first. I remember at the time that it was coming off of Hahn’s press conference in which all the qualities he described in the next manager he was looking for fit Hinch to a T. So it made no sense when Nightengale was basically saying TLR was a lock to be the next manager, other than the Jerry connection. It really seemed like he was way off, but unfortunately he was right. It really showed how Hahn and Jerry weren’t on the same page. Hahn definitely wanted Hinch but Jerry overruled his decision for his old buddy. Remember how depressed Hahn looked in the press conference when he had to announce TLR as the next Sox manager? That was brutal to watch but also hilarious because it was at that moment Hahn was officially neutered in front of all Sox fans and we realized he could barely make any decisions on his own between Jerry and Kenny.
  23. I’m not arguing. I’d probably take that offer for Robert in a second. If both guys pan out, you could fill two of your remaining outfield spots along with B. Montgomery. At worst, Ewing could probably be one of the best utility guys in baseball.
  24. Instead of wearing those shirts, the players should have towel snapped Madrigal as hard as they could with a wet twisted towel end every time he mentioned getting 3,000 hits.
