One WS every 20 years ain’t the greatest of odds. Unfortunately, as dark as Lip’s post is, the odds are probably in his favor. Even moreso when factoring in the odds of a WS winner over the entire life of the franchise. 3 WS winners in 125 years? Disturbing as it is, Lip has the odds on his side.

I really don’t care but it was basically a Caulfield post comparing two completely unrelated players. And poor Caulfield typically gets clowned for making posts like that. I was just sharing some feedback regarding your weirdly random comparison of players. Good luck.

1) Agree with Q going down. Unfortunately for KLee, he didn’t prove his case so The Master Baiter probably retains his backup job. 2) Agreed. I have been calling this out every time I hear Schriffen say it. A true soft spot would be DFA’ing him, paying out the rest of his contracts, and letting him try to latch on with a contending team to try to win something. That’s a good SSD. Unfortunately, AI has also caused the prices for memory and storage to blow the F up to ridiculous prices like all computer hardware was during Covid. I recently ordered a NAS to set up with my younger son as a fun project and to use it for file/media storage, iPhone backups, etc., but then I found out the current cost of large 12 TB spinning hard drives. And I needed to buy 4 x 12 TB HDD’s. Brutal. Even the used prices are obscene. The NAS unit itself was less than the price of two 12 TB hard drives. Bad timing to build a NAS.

At that point, I’m sure Getz would have to share that plan with Ishbia and Ishbia would have to be aligned. We all know Jerry ain’t paying any of that contract heavily in the early years. 🤣

Not sure if Ozzie has any pull with Getz or not. I wouldn’t be surprised if he loved Acuna, a Venezuelan SS, coming to the team. I haven’t paid enough attention to the post-game show, but I would assume he also loves Pereira as well due to the Venezuelan connection?

I don’t know what he is going to do. However, I’m guessing he will significantly out-WAR Acuna by the end of the season. How much will dictate his $20 million dollar tab.

Why are we comparing Pereira to Robert? They weren’t involved in the same trade and play different positions. The obvious comparison is Acuna and Robert as they both play CF and were traded for each other. Yes, Robert has slumped lately but the Sox could have Robert in CF and Pereira in RF right now.

Yep, I get the details behind it and that it’s all about the principles of one cheap old miser of an owner. It’s still hilarious because a single waiver claim costs $50K and a Rule 5 draft pick costs $100K.

Well, quite honestly, Seranthony still hasn’t been worth $18.5 million and an extra year of earning that money over Seward at chump change for a single year, so I’m not sure Caulfield is actually wrong yet. Regardless, it’s all about what kind of return the Sox can get for Seranthony since it would be a surprise to see him going for any saves in a playoff game within the next two seasons.

Of course there will be pressure. You may have lucked into a 26-year old star player with a huge market following that you didn’t have before for a low price for 2 years compared to the market for established star players. How many teams would be too cheap to extend the player and f*** all of that up? I guess we shall see what happens.

Still sad if that was truly the reason. I can’t imagine not wanting Giolito at that low 1 year price than Kay at $12 million guaranteed for 2 years, but perhaps Giolito isn’t truly healthy.

Agreed, I posted last night that it was probably his best call so far. And ironically it fits the situation perfectly going forward into next season. 🤣

I don’t really remember this Seward versus Seranthony argument but I probably just missed it. But why are we comparing a guy on a 1-year, $1.5 million dollar deal to a guy that signed for 2-years and $20 million dollars? That’s not even apples and oranges.
