You don’t know what I am getting at? What did I say that was confusing? I thought my question was very direct and to the point.
Hahn started his rebuild in December 2016 with the Chris Sale trade. He then went on to have three losing seasons in 2017, 2018, and 2019, even though he still managed to win 62 to 72 games without setting the loss record. The Sox then made the postseason in 2020 and 2021. So one could say his rebuild took three years until he finally built a winning team.
How long are we expecting Getz to be in “rebuild mode” and when can we expect to see his first winning team?
COVID is over now and everything is put into place. So what is Getz’s new timeline for the rebuild now? More specially, in what year/season can we expect to see a winning Sox team?

To me, De Paula alone would be a haul considering how low Robert has devalued himself with poor performance and injuries. Outman would just be a throw-in but I’d rather see him in the OF over Palacios, Taylor, and Jones.
Here’s what I found. It is a draft lottery for the top 6 picks. I was wrong and the Sox wouldn’t automatically get the 1st pick, but finishing with the worst record in baseball would increase their chances of getting the #1 pick and a higher pick overall.
“The MLB draft order is determined by a combination of factors, including a lottery for the first six picks, reverse order of regular season records for non-playoff teams, and postseason finish for playoff teams.
Here's a more detailed breakdown:
1. Draft Lottery:
The first six picks are determined by a lottery, where teams that didn't make the playoffs are assigned odds based on their previous season's record. The team with the worst record doesn't automatically get the top pick; the lottery ensures a degree of randomness.
2. Reverse Order of Standings:
For the remaining picks (7-18), the draft order follows the reverse order of the previous season's standings among non-playoff teams.
3. Postseason Finish:
Once the lottery and non-playoff teams have picked, the 12 postseason teams take their turns in order of their elimination in the playoffs, with the World Series champion picking last.
4. Additional Factors:
Revenue sharing status and competitive balance picks can also affect the draft order.”
Getz pretty much has until the trade deadline to trade Robert, unless you think Jerry is actually going to approve picking up his $20 million dollar option for next season. Salary is being cut from the payroll year after year so it’s pretty apparent that he won’t be back.
