  1. Best two destinations I guess. Will be sad when we don’t get Crawford when he could’ve been a realistic return if Robert didn’t s%*# the bed.
  2. The Great New Lenox Grudge.
  3. Any reason why? I realize he isn’t getting any younger and will be turning 25 soon but his MiLB numbers aren’t bad. If he’s a lefty bat with some pop and can actually stick at CF, why is he such a bad get?
  4. But maybe the Sox wise up and keep him out of the lineup this time, being so close to the deadline.
  5. Robert + Wilson? Come get it…
  6. Hopefully it is postponed. A good excuse for Robert to not see the field until after the deadline.
  7. Completely different situation though. The Sox had just given up their first round pick in Madrigal and a good setup man in Heuer for Kimbrel. They also thought they were still in their competitive window but already had Hendriks for the closer spot. Kimbrel was a bust so they tried to recoup some value by swapping him for a position of need — a starting RF in Pollock. It’s not like the Sox thought they would be terrible in 2022 and picked up Kimbrel’s option to trade him for prospects.
  8. Two guys retired actually. And hopefully Bergolla finds some power at some point. I’m just not seeing how these moves are leading to the next WS for this team.
  9. I think the last step in everything that Chili’s prepares is for the cook to take a salt shaker, unscrew the cap, and dump it on your food. Most of their s%*# is way too damn salty.
  10. So is that Twitter account run by someone that works as a manager at the New Lenox Chili’s?
  11. I wanted Hays. I’m glad that Slater returned what he did but it’s clear that Hays would have returned more. If the Sox can’t even sign an outfielder like Hays coming back from a terrible season to a 1-year, $5 million dollar deal, what are we doing here? Also, take a look at the trade returns from last year. Two of the guys in the return are already retired. Getting your jollies off on these mediocre returns is most likely folly anyways, but you do you.
  12. The problem with strict platoons is that players aren’t robots. There’s injuries, days off, randomness of pitching matchups, etc. It’s great that Slater can hit LHP well but he had almost as many plate appearances against RHP (54) as LHP (69) for the Sox.
  13. Wow, another Chicago foodie account. This time it’s chili!!!
  14. Imagine botching the trades for two of your three last remaining trade chips from the previous regime.
  15. Some teams demand excellence and spend money. Others are mired in mediocrity and bargain shop for TWTW.
  16. Yep, I was not a fan of the idea of acquiring Vientos because his last year looks like a fluke compared to the rest of his body of work. But I’ll take Vientos all day over Acuna. At least with Vientos, you’re trying to obtain one of the things the Sox need — power. The Sox already have enough middle infielders with little to no power.
  17. C’mon… even John Olerud? 😉
  18. His strikeout rate is still a big concern, and that was part of it last year. But yeah, he’s probably the prospect we can only wish for Wolkow to become.
  19. Wow, other than having a couple star players over the years, the Angels are pretty much the White Sox of the west.
  20. I really hope he is traded now. If the Sox could get this kind of return for Slater, you have to assume Tauchman is worth more. Hopefully the Sox don’t just retain Tauchman because he’ll be a cheap starting RF option for next season. That would be a mistake and a joke. Sell high and see what Danger Will can do for the rest of the season starting in RF. There will be other options than Tauchman for what will likely be another losing season regardless.
  21. Yes, there were quite a few posts about people suggesting Hays. Getz jumped on Slater almost immediately as his self-proclaimed “number one target of the offseason” which likely put an end to any interest in the now history-proven better option in Hays as a righty outfielder. If Slater could bring back a #18 prospect, it’s fairly obvious that Hays would have returned more value than that.
  22. Sounds like they will platoon Slater with Dominguez in LF. Dominguez hasn’t hit lefties at all this season.
