  1. Can Robert get his OPS up over .700 by the deadline? Would be nice.
  2. They are all just guys. No franchise cornerstones for us unfortunately.
  3. For sure with a 4.50’ish ERA and a WHIP nearing 1.50.
  4. Cannon has a promising future as a batting practice / home run derby pitcher.
  5. They won’t want to pay the remaining money on his deal. I could see them signing him if he clears waivers and becomes a free agent though.
  6. @WBWSF missed the boat with his letters. If only he had employed this tactic, he would’ve gotten his interview and been the GM by now.
  7. The Cubs board also thought Tauchman had two more arbitration years remaining as of August 2, 2024… https://northsidebaseball.com/news-rumors/chicago-cubs/mike-tauchman-and-the-2025-chicago-cubs-r1013/
  8. Google AI says this. Not sure if this is what you are referring to… “It's worth noting that some foreign professionals are exempt from the international bonus pool rules if they meet specific criteria, such as being at least 25 years old and having played professionally in a foreign league recognized by MLB for a minimum of six seasons.”
  9. Yep. Also, not that they are a very reliable source but earlier this week Mully and Haugh on The Score are under the same impression and discussed bringing back Tauchman as a veteran presence for next year as opposed to trading him at the deadline.
  10. He’s a 31 year old corner outfielder with a .736 OPS and declining defense. He’s at a 0.6 bWAR. I agree with Dick Allen. I doubt any team would want Benintendi no matter how much money the Sox would potentially eat.
  11. Weird timing to crap on Rule 5 picks with both Shane Smith and Mike Vasil on this roster. Sure, I would prefer a younger prospect like Crawford but I’m not sure Robert is worth that much.

  13. Looking at those names outside of Crochet is disgustingly painful.
  14. Good luck with that. This is just looking at their salaries for this year and not even the total values of their contracts. That’s $52.8 million for three players. The Sox opening day payroll this year was around $80 million. Steve Cohen would need to replace Jerry as owner for you to get your wish. 2025 Salaries Crochet: $3.8 million Sale: $22 million Rodon: $27 million
  15. Because it’s not just his batting average. It’s also his poor OBP (.292), SLG (.344), and mediocre WAR (0.6). Also, if he was hitting .272 rather than .206 right now, his other stats would likely be improved as well.
  16. Jerry would just about s%*# himself at the thought of including even more money than 2025 salary to move Robert. Not happening.

Almost like he knew it was coming. Had Parkinson’s but still managed to raise $190 million for charity for children’s hospitals two weeks ago in his final performance.
  18. To avoid Robert having an 0 for 4 day with a strikeout against a tough righty. Robert is 0 for 6 with 2 strikeouts in his career against Rasmussen. It was a smart move for once.
  19. It was just a joke. Don’t want to see him get torched by the Cubs offense right before the trade deadline.
  20. I heard Houser’s wife is giving birth on the day of his start against the Cubs. I think the Sox will have to spontaneously throw him on the paternity leave list or something… 😶
  21. Hilarious. Montoyo. It was great when Garfien blew up about it.
  22. Chicago White Sox optioned RHP Wikelman González to Charlotte Knights.
