I wonder if they think his one good really good offensive season in 2022 was a fluke and are trying to sell high before his bat continues to tank. I agree with you but that obviously isn’t a big concern to Jerry. RF will be a massive hole again next season. It’s been that way since 2017. Tauchman, Slater, Fletcher, or whomever aren’t solving that problem.

We’ve seen this far too many times. Even if he is decent, does it even matter? He was decent last season with the Cubs and he wasn’t moved at the deadline for any sort of return when the Cubs were selling assets. That should really be the only goal of the Sox making one-year veteran signings. Otherwise, play Colas and the younger bums that Getz acquired last year.

Unfortunately, players don’t stay the same or improve into their mid-30’s like Jerry and Sox GM’s for the past eternity hope and bank on. They decline. This is the story of Sox offseasons for years, and they still never get it. Well, they probably get it. They just don’t care.
