Luis Robert trade thread: La Pantera stays.
Tim Anderson should just retire. Dude fell apart completely. Amazing how far Eloy has fallen. All he had to do was hit, keep his glove in his locker, and he can’t even do that. Moncada actually has an .811 OPS. He just can’t stay healthy, per usual. Always banged up.

No doubt this will happen. 🤣

So who has he fixed? Let me guess — Vargas? Who else? Maybe you can claim Sosa but he was tearing it up in the last month of last season already. And yeah, of course the offense e could likely improve… it’s pretty easy to slightly improve from NEAR LAST PLACE in the entire MLB in offense! 🤣

Luis Robert trade thread: La Pantera stays.
I intentionally picked on specific players? LOL… Luis Robert is our most talented player, and in his prime. This is pretty much irrefutable. Andrew Vaughn is our former 3rd overall pick, and in his prime as well. They are having the worst seasons of their careers. So I will ask again, where is Ryan Fuller in this? And if you want me to also link all the MLB team hitting stats so you can see that the Sox are pretty much near last in every recordable offensive statistic, I can do that. Should I do that for your reference?

So has anyone questioned why the great Ryan Fuller couldn’t fix the swings of our two most talented young players in Luis Robert and Andrew Vaughn? Oops…

Any idea what the highest ranked prospect / prospect package given up for an ace with control? Maybe there just isn’t a comparable trade that happened recently? I can’t remember. But I do think that teams just aren’t given up too prospects in trades like they used to.

Perhaps early retirement is in Robert’s future, just like how it’s currently calling Tim Anderson’s name.

True, the Sox couldn’t hit that looping lefty junkballer at all.

Well, TLR is pulling all the wrong strings if it’s him.

Especially when Rojas is gone after this season. Not sure why Getz wanted him so badly but that $3.5 million is a sunk cost.

Hawk’s nemesis. He treated a game against Cy Chen as if the Sox were facing Verlander in his prime with Detroit.

They just released Tim Anderson yesterday in case anyone missed it. Moncada outlasting him with an .811 OPS, but still always banged up as usual (knee soreness).

I think Cease was the bigger fail. You could be right on Crochet, but I can’t imagine a team offering that much more than the return from the Red Sox. Although it would have been nice to pry Anthony, Montgomery, and Meidroth away instead.

He definitely didn’t get his dad’s size. Matt Holliday was 6’4”, 240. They have Jackson listed at 6’0”, 185.

Some posters were calling him a bust last year and didn’t want him as the return in trades. He has been 21 for about 5 months. Slow developing but definitely improving.

I just have one bedroom and a queen, but you’re welcome to stay at my place.

You are probably right. But I will give Getz and gang credit for Fedde, Smith, Vasil, and now Houser (if he keeps it up). I mention Vasil cuz I wouldn’t be surprised to see the Sox shift him back to a starter after this season. It’s a bit strange that they seem to be better at the tougher task of identifying starting pitching talent but aren’t so good at the easier task you mention (bullpen).

It’s probably not that much of a difference since the MLB deal is prorated but you think they would have just called up a guy like Karinchak rather than spend additional money. I mean, I know they can’t say this but the worst record after the Rockies is a pretty big deal this season.

Well, you are kind of right anyways. We definitely want to beat Baltimore, Pittsburgh, and Oakland in the Fecal League Standings. The Rockies will ultimately have the worst record but can’t get a draft pick higher than #10. All the other teams mentioned, along with the Sox, have a lottery chance at #1. The worst record improves your chances at #1. https://www.tankathon.com/mlb

Yes, but he was released on May 25th.

We all know the answer to this one — cuz no other MLB team was ever giving Getz a GM job at any point in the near future, if ever. He failed upward and was promoted as a loyal minion of JR.

This is the ironic part. You definitely want the worst record after the Rockies this season. Weird that they would pay this guy rather than call up any bum non-prospect reliever.

No, it was either Hahn or Kenny’s fault… or both. It’s never the fault of only one person for everything, just not Getz… at all, even though he served as the director of player development and assistant GM from 2017 to 2023.

You literally said the below in a previous post. Meanwhile, Getz was part of the same failure while serving as Hahn’s director of player development and assistant GM and yet he is still here. But in your above post, it can either be all Hahn’s fault or the fault might not all be on one person and it was either Kenny or Hahn, or both, but definitely not Getz? You are basically just speaking in circles and aren’t really taking a stance on anything. But you definitely appear to be excusing Getz of any blame in his previous roles.

Damn, Hahn must have had a very weak director of player development and assistant GM when he was in charge. Sounds like both Hahn and that guy must’ve failed miserably to not have any near MLB ready players right now.
