You mentioned prospect names like Montgomery, Larson, and Taylor. There have been hyped up prospect names in the past that didn’t pan out, just like how some of these guys won’t. I’ll wait and see when they are successful major leaguers. Otherwise, it doesn’t mean all that much. MLB results matter, not prospect hype. And the Sox have still not proven that they can draft and develop position players.

You sound like an insider. You should start an X account. I suggest “Lou Malnati’s Deep Dish” as your profile name. I don’t think that one has been taken yet. -
It’s all valid. The Sox have historically been terrible at drafting in the 2nd round, as well as drafting position players in general. There’s a reason the Sox lineup is absolutely terrible right now. The same organization that thought Fletcher and Vargas would be good acquisitions is ultimately in charge of drafting players. Like I said, I’ll believe the Sox drafting of position players has improved when I see the results. And note, I do think the Sox have been pretty good at drafting pitchers.

Definitely funnier. Even funnier considering the mayor colluded with the teacher who hid the gun in her rolls along with Jerry to cover up the story.

Getz IS a bad GM, and that would be talking White Sox baseball. Ripping on the forum itself is not talking White Sox baseball.
-
Yep. The same reason Harbaugh wasn’t even considered is the same reason a guy like Belichek won’t be considered either. The losers at the top have overinflated opinions of their skills and talents and refuse to cede power to anyone that is probably way better than them at this football thing.

Neither is Don Quixote.

Brings you back to your teen heartthrob, just like the rest of us.

Your last few posts all have the same theme of ripping on this forum. If you don’t enjoy this message board as much as you have stated in your last four posts, you do have the option of not reading or posting on this forum at all. Or, I guess you can continue to read this forum and make post after post about how much you hate this place. Makes a lot of sense…

Doh, you’re right. Jerry bought the Bulls in 1985, a year after Jordan was drafted. So he’s an even worse owner than I thought.

Was going to say… pretty risqué photo there. I also didn’t know what Nancy Faust looked like back in the day…

The Sox signed a couple players named Nick? I only saw the Jeff Bolker signing.

Kopech literally said there was no motivation because the Sox suck so bad. Yes, that is on Kopech, but it’s also on Jerry, Hahn/Kenny, and Getz for building such an absolute piece of garbage team that no one cares to play hard for. That’s a culture the owner and front office created by being so fucking bad at their jobs. Afterall, if the entire roster gave a crap last year, they wouldn’t have set a record for futility. How many years was that record again? Oh, since 1901! Yeah, pretty much an almost impossible record to set unless you have a roster of players that don’t respect and don’t care about their own organization. Even a piece of s%*# team would barely have to try to avoid the record this team set. Jerry fostered those feelings. Meanwhile, with one trade, all of Kopech’s problems are solved and he pitches like a stud? Yeah, it’s magic. It has nothing to do at all with being a member of this embarrassing organization at all. Kopech’s life was a mess according to you, yet you argued in the past that Tim Anderson’s personal life was his own business. But Tim Anderson likely fell apart because Sox fans were mean to him about his extramarital affairs… Just be honest, and call a spade a spade.

Nope, I literally looked up Jeff Bolker on BaseballCube.com.

Manfred: mlb considering “Golden at bat” rule

Haha, hilarious. The feedback was so bad that he rolled it back. What a loser. -
Same exact thought here. 🤣

It’s a pretty nice signing in this climate for starting pitching. Bieber is coming back from TJ surgery and will likely miss the first few months of the season, but it’s either a 1-year deal for $14 million ($4 million buyout) or a 2-year deal for $26 million ($16 million player option). Getz won’t make a signing larger than this Guardians deal this offseason.

Easy there, @ron883. 🧌😈🤣

Agreed. Luis Castillo at 3-years / $68.25 million actually has value. Just look at what mediocre starters are signing for right now. Frankie Montas got 2-years / $34 million after a very mediocre season. Severino is a much better starter than Montas but about par with Castillo and just signed for a similar contract as to the money Castillo has remaining on his deal. However, Bellinger at 2-years / $52.5 million with his most recent performance (.751 OPS, 2.2 WAR) is a bloated deal that even contending teams likely won’t want. -
Luis Robert is injury-prone and has been up and down in his career. He may not be worth his upcoming 2025 salary and two option years for 2026 and 2027. Andrew Vaughn was literally a non-tender candidate, especially for good teams, but the Sox literally don’t have anyone better so they brought him back. If he wasn’t their own somewhat recent first round pick, the Sox probably would have non-tendered him. The rest of what you posted makes sense, but why none of it will happen can be summed up with one name… Jerry.

Other than Jordan and a fluky 2005 season for the Sox, he’s been one of the worst owners in two sports.
