  1. His lineups and decision making have been terrible thus far.
  2. The zero show of power is getting concerning (see Madrigal).
  3. You are probably right but this team has no one else worth playing anyways.
  4. Definitely losers. Just not lovable because of what the owner has done over the years.
  5. Nah, I'mma Do My Own Thing
  6. Agreed. Perhaps a good move by Hahn in drafting him. That could be three starters in the current Sox lineup that came from Hahn instead of Getz — Sosa, Quero, and Elko. 🤣
  7. Elko was already tearing the cover off the ball in the minors during the 2023 season. Getz was promoted to full GM at the end of the 2023 season so all of his changes/upgrades then took some time after that. Perhaps Elko was just always a good hitter and this notion that Getz’s improvements made him better are bullshit?
  8. Damn, I thought that elite speed and defense from Greg Jones would mean something. Guess not when you strikeout 30 times in 71 plate appearances at Charlotte. Getz couldn’t identify a good hitter even if the cryogenically frozen head of Ted Williams thawed out and head-butted him.
  9. Getz had already been promoted to assistant GM in 2021. Elko was drafted in 2022. But I guess…
  10. I’m not a grandpa yet. Aren’t you in your 60’s? Elko was already hitting well in the minors in 2023 while Hahn was still in charge.
  11. You mean the player that Hahn drafted?
  12. Elko has that TWTW.
  13. Dude was just being respectful. Chet averaged 4.5 WAR a year. Kemp wasn’t even close to that. In today’s game, Chet would be worth at least $300 million.
  14. For Steve Kemp, a terrible trade.
  15. Not even close. Madrigal had much more value when he was traded than Vaughn currently has. What team is going to trade anything for a poor defensive 1B that is questionable to put up an OPS above .700 for the season? He’s at -1.0 fWAR. I don’t think you could even give him away right now due to his salary.
  16. Wow, haha. Same record as last year after 38 games. I didn’t realize that. https://www.baseball-almanac.com/teamstats/schedule.php?y=2024&t=CHA How in the hell does Getz keep his job?
  17. I don’t see how it is tough to cut bait on him at this point. Vaughn is now on his fifth straight year of mediocrity. Tyler Osik’s tweets about Vaughn being lazy are more than likely true. His makeup is obviously weak if he had all the talent in the world and doesn’t care to work extra in the offseason trying to improve his game. There is only one more arbitration year of control over Vaughn at a salary of over $6 million. I don’t see the point in giving him any more chances. He’s officially a bust. He was a position player drafted by the Sox so this should be no surprise. He also isn’t returning anything in a trade. Getz needs to accept it and give someone else his at bats.
  18. Between his awful roster management and record for the second straight season, this guy needs to go… Getz should be sending Bill Schmidt flowers and candy on a weekly basis. The Rockies are so bad this year that they provide some cover for Getz and the second worst team in baseball.
  19. Wild arguments? Guys that pass through waivers are typically AAAA guys. I think that would include Lopez and Shewmake. Typically defensive replacements that can’t hit. God knows, Getz’s current roster has plenty of them, and a few starting for the team.
  20. Normally I would agree, except he just made a post about how Getz’s Bummer trade was good because three of the bums he got back in the trade (Soroka, Lopez, and Shewmake) are now on other rosters… even though they are still bums.
  21. On pace for 43 wins. 2 games better than last season!
  22. Today we saw why Getz kept him on the roster. What a master stroke of genius by our GM.
  23. Now on pace for 43 wins. Maybe you can tell us how good this bullpen will be, just like last year’s. Getz for the win!!!
