  1. Thorpe’s fastball was worse than expected and extremely hittable. Scary low strikeout rate. And then injury, which is the least of the concerns. Samuel Zavala hit like Seby in High-A. Iriarte had a good season in AA but his walks are a red flag and he carried them into the majors in his brief time there.
  2. The moment you realized he wasn’t going to hit .330 with all his slappy contact because he has two foot paces. 🤣
  3. Almost everything went to crap with the return in that deal. Not sure how that can be denied. Sure, there’s still time for them to improve. However, Cease turned back into an ace with the Padres and I wouldn’t be surprised if they could get a better return for Cease right now than Getz did. The consensus seems to be that the return for this Crochet trade is positive. That was definitely not the consensus belief for the Cease trade. But if you want to go ahead and ignore all of this and stay in your happy place, be my guest.
  4. More Bears dysfunction. It’s all over The Score as well…
  5. That got caught in the White Sox spam filter.
  6. I’m hoping he has more power. Someone get him on some gear. 🤣
  7. But this is a Sox fan’s Christmas for trading away aces. We get at least one day to assume the entire prospect return will turn into above average major leaguers. Don’t ruin the fun!!!
  8. Eh, this just makes me wonder how he whiffed on the Cease return so much now.
  9. What’s the deal with this dude? Other than a smaller stature, does he have a weak glove or something? One would think he would be ranked even higher in the Red Sox farm system with the numbers he has put up.
  10. This is like the anti-Hahn trade return where the third and fourth pieces are actually good and not pretty much throwaways, as in the Sale and Quintana deals.
  11. His walks are insane. Dustin Pedroia version 2.0 would be nice.
  12. I think that’s the right place to be. I didn’t know anything about Meidroth and his stats are impressive but it looks like he’s a little guy unfortunately.
  13. You must love this deal. Some quality but big time quantity.
  14. “Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports that the the trade talks between Kyle Tucker and the Cubs involve Seiya Suzuki and Isaac Paredes. Suzuki has recently been mentioned as a potential trade candidate by the Cubs, in part because of his desire to not be a designated hitter. Tucker heading to Chicago would open up right field for him. Meanwhile, Paredes would slide into third base if Alex Bregman was to leave the Astros. There would almost certainly be prospects headed Houston’s way, but this would be a way to move Tucker and not take a massive step backwards for 2025 and 2026. Interesting.”
  15. Yep, I missed the post you were responding to. I agree with you then with Robert just getting some pieces now, as well as just keeping him until the deadline instead so he can recoup his value. But I don’t think either Jerry or Getz agree with us.
  16. Which means in comparison the Sox should do better than “some pieces” for Crochet.
  17. I’m not complaining. Looks like a better pick than You Don't Mess with the Shane Drohan.
  18. A starter would’ve been better but it’s nice that this guy is still relatively young with good stuff. It shouldn’t be all that difficult to keep him on the roster.
  19. Basically, Getz has to nail the Crochet trade and the Robert trade to a lesser extent for there to be any hope of building a decent lineup in the near future. This means absolutely no salary dumps and no acquiring any more guys like Fletcher and Vargas.
