The person you are talking about will be making money long after Getz’s career is OVA. There’s WINNERS and losers, and Getz is definitely the latter.

Other teams in ST are playing their scrubs most of the game. They pull their starters early. For the Sox, all of their players are scrubs, haha. So it kind of makes sense. When is Getz expected to field a competitive team in your opinion of a timeline? I want your post on record…

I didn’t think ST records mattered but the Sox are trying to prove some correlation between sucking in ST and sucking in the regular season. Read my recent posts on this. So when the Sox 2025 regular season record looks as bad as their previous record, and the Padres do much better, I guess we will know the answer. But does it truly mean that ST records don’t matter or is it just that the Sox roster has been so historically bad the past two seasons that they are equally bad in both ST and the regular season?

If the Sox were as good as the Padres, WestEddy would no doubt be screaming at everyone about how good the Sox are.

It’s a continuation of last year’s ST record as well as their regular season record. What is your point? Do you honestly think the Sox aren’t going to lose 100 games this year? Will the Padres lose 100 games this year? When what I said is proven right, will you still show up?

In ST games or games that actually count? The Sox lose either way. I don’t need to troll sh1t. It’s history, lest you forget… 41-121. And to quote Hawk — This debate is OVAAAA!

This Padres trolling is quite hilarious. If the Sox were as good as the Padres right now, they wouldn’t be the “laughingstock” of the MLB. Yes, “laughingstock” is a thing, even if some people want to try to deny it.

Meanwhile, the Commanders are now right where we wished the Bears would be at this point in time. Sad…

Shane Smith future closer?
Could be. Obviously worth trying him as a starter first. If he doesn’t have the control for 5+ innings, try him as a reliever.

Is it too soon to sell high on Luis Robert before he gets hurt? 🤣

Was he throwing that hard in his last start?

Good point. I still think Fletcher and Colas should have probably received more playing time last year, once it was obvious the season was lost.

Ishbia increasing minority stake in Sox
Hopefully he would spare no expense on the Sox roster as well, if he becomes owner along with his brother.

Too bad. It used to be walks and HRs. Not so much these days.

Due to an injury to Benintendi in which he won’t even be gone that long? Forced to play.

I gave up on those ideas with Fletcher and Colas cuz your boy signed an old fart platoon to play RF. He apparently has no faith in guys he acquired and/or helped develop.

Sox Spring Training notes
Let’s try to get to a 3 runs per game average before getting crazy here… Baby steps.

Getz believed in Nicky Lopez. He believed in Fletcher. He believed in Vargas. He believed in DeLoach. He apparently still believes in Clevinger. Why do we care what Getz’s opinion on players is, other than the fact that he is unfortunately the Sox GM?

Political talk. Reported.

It isn’t the same situation. DeLoach was cut during the offseason before teams had finalized their rosters, yet no team wanted him. Canario was cut at the beginning of ST when teams already had filled their rosters, yet a team (Mets) still chose to acquire him.

That isn’t my point at all. My point is that in yet another expected horrible losing season like last year, a crappy team like the White Sox is better served starting a young player in the outfield over an old man RF platoon. Even if the young player doesn’t pan out, it’s worth the shot to see what could happen. Oh God forbid, the Sox lose 100 games starting a guy like Canario instead if 98 games with a Tauchman/Slater platoon! The point is that it wouldn’t matter much in the grand scheme of things. Tauchman and Slater aren’t going to be traded for anything of value anyways.
