  1. That’s great. You said the goal was to eat innings. It’s not about who YOU want to see. It will be another losing season regardless.
  2. Nonsense. They have guys they already paid for that will be ready to perform your task. This is just five off the top of my head. Not trading Houser would be moronic. Bryse Wilson Mike Clevinger Owen White Noah Syndergaard Martin Perez
  3. Of course it doesn’t. But to Jerry, it’s a lot of money. The Sox largest contract ever (Benintendi’s) includes no annual salaries of $20 million. Robert will cost $22 million to bring back for next season — $20 million salary and a $2 million buyout for 2027.
  4. #1 doesn’t make sense because Houser is a free agent after this season. You either take the best offer and move on, or you get nothing for him. If you want Houser back, you offer him a contract in the offseason. #2 is just pure speculation and not worth mentioning.
  5. Well, you would be wrong then. Wheeler has been to a WS, an NLCS, and an NLDS the past three seasons, and he has a shot at the postseason for the fourth straight year. That’s actually history… facts. It happened. Meanwhile, you are just speculating at what could have happened.
  6. I can’t hate on Wheeler. Dude made the best decision ever listening to his wife.
  7. You are just making him last longer. He feeds on our pain and anger. 🤣
  8. $22 million at a minimum. He has another $20 million option and $2 million buyout for the 2027 season. While I am dubious as well, I assume if he isn’t traded they will pick up his option. Why wouldn’t you accept a mediocre offer for him if you are just going to buy him out after this season? Anything is better than nothing.
  9. Was the word that Getz was asking for 1 major leaguer along with 2 good prospects? 🤣
  10. At a minimum, Robert will cost the rest of his $15 million salary for this year along with a $2 million to get rid of via his 2026 buyout after this season. Or, you have to guarantee Robert $22 million ($20 million option + $2 million buyout for 2027) to bring him back for next season.
  11. More like the bad for two straight seasons Luis Robert Jr. Ever heard of recency bias? It’s definitely a thing in baseball.
  12. Because the longer you hold out trying to get your unrealistic demands accepted, teams move on to other players that other GM’s are actually willing to part with for something realistic. Then you wind up with your hand holding your schvonce.
  13. Pretty sure they didn’t scratch him from his start yesterday because they intend to extend him. They want to trade him. Regardless, I can’t imagine Houser wouldn’t just wait for free agency rather than accept what would likely be a team friendly extension offer from the Sox.
  14. Flash from the past…
  15. No, extend him for 2026 and see if he regains his value then.
  16. Yep, I forgot to post this earlier but this could be the steal of the deadline.
  17. Aren’t you the same poster that basically puts the majority of posters all in the same bucket, if they dare be critical of any move the Sox make? Oh yeah… hypocritical much?
  18. It’s an upgrade from a Chicago foodie Twitter account.
  19. Houser. He has value and should be traded. You can call up any random pitcher to pitch innings — see yesterday’s starter.
