Dave Kaplan reports Kenny Williams holding back Rick Hahn
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 16, 2016 -> 03:09 PM) I hold them all responsible for each move good and bad. I hold JR responsible since he's in charge.

Dave Kaplan reports Kenny Williams holding back Rick Hahn
nobody knows which of the triumvirate was responsible for any particular move.

The Next Wave Part 2: Pitching prospects
yeah I know. Its still a mystery to me. To me, adding 5mph to a 90mph fastball is inconceivable. Individuals would literally kill to be able to do that. But as a sum total, that is what is happening.

Dave Kaplan reports Kenny Williams holding back Rick Hahn
Hahn seems like a simpleton or completely gullible to me. I don't see how the guy went to Harvard Law or whatever it was.

The Next Wave Part 2: Pitching prospects
you asked for thoughts, so my thought is how does every pitcher nowadays throw 95mph? back in the stone ages that area was reserved for a couple of guys in the entire major leagues. now fringy guys who may never even sniff the majors throw 95mph

Bernstein: Sources say White Sox might be for sale

Bernstein: Sources say White Sox might be for sale
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 16, 2016 -> 11:57 AM) People need to get off the notion the White Sox would move. It isn't going to happen. Easy to say if you haven't lived through it, which I know you have. I don't take anything for granted. North Carolina has a ton of money and people. If they could figure out a way to be both a Charlotte AND Raleigh team....

White Sox Listening on Sale
Sale's numbers have a lot of warning signs. They're not going to trade a boat load of prospects for him. And the White Sox can't afford to trade him unless they GET a boat load of prospects.

Alex Call-Article
He looks too good to be true. fingers crossed.

Sox @ Marlins
Is Saladino shaky at 2B because of some inherent flaw or b/c he doesn't have much experience there?

Bernstein: Sources say White Sox might be for sale
The old rail yards south of Roosevelt west of Clark is a massive site. I dunno who owns it or what the plans are. Probably worth a fortune now.

August 11th Game Thread: White Sox @ Royals
QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 11, 2016 -> 09:55 PM) And yet if they had only lost two more games, they would have gotten Benintendi low blow.

Bernstein: Sources say White Sox might be for sale
QUOTE (Deadpool @ Aug 11, 2016 -> 09:43 PM) This is complete nonsense. He owned the team, he gets the credit. 7 championships. 7. How many championships does Chicago even have as a city? Reinsdorf has 7 of them. He gets credit for owning the team. So what? He'd be about 20th on the list of people actually responsible for it.

August 11th Game Thread: White Sox @ Royals
QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 11, 2016 -> 09:38 PM) Fulmer's velocity is down and his command is atrocious. Looks nothing like a starting candidate. nor a short reliever.

Bernstein: Sources say White Sox might be for sale
Bernstein just made that up.

Construct A "Going For It" 2017 Roster
B/C a GM isn't really in charge of anything anymore other than holding press conferences.
-
Carlos Gomez DFA'd
With all the money KW/Hahn have already wasted I kind of doubt they want to add another $2.5MM on top of it.

8/10 Games
QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Aug 11, 2016 -> 07:16 AM) Also quotes his manager saying he can't believe he was taken that late in the draft, FWIW. A while back I was curious about this guy and did some research. His college #s were really nothing to take notice of. He hit .270 or something.

Construct A "Going For It" 2017 Roster
What's Cespedes gonna get? 3/90, 4/120? I don't see the Sox going there.

David Robertson is a fantastic closer
You need Albers to come into the games where Shields can't get out of the second inning. He's been a good soldier.
-
Justin Morneau 2017 DH
I think God made hitters and non-hitters and beyond that, not much can be done. He did give you free will to throw to the right base though...
-
Zack Burdi not coming to Chicago this season
I have no idea what the hell they are trying to prove...unless they made him a promise when they signed him.
-
Justin Morneau 2017 DH
QUOTE (Scoots @ Aug 10, 2016 -> 10:48 AM) If the players mentioned in this lineup at least play AT their career norms (other than Anderson, not sure what his "career norm" is quite yet, looks promising though), this is a very solid lineup. I see people say that but our team batting numbers are terrible....like 27th in OPS. This is not just another patch up job.
-
David Robertson is a fantastic closer
We just better hope he can put it back together because we are stuck with him unless he does. His velocity hasn't changed much over the years, so maybe he can be fixed.
