  1. Yeah, ideally the answer is neither. But if I have to pick one, it's Vaughn. There is at least a slim chance that can turn into a positive situation for the franchise.
  2. Why are people believing this report to begin with? Seems very much a "trying to pretend interest is there" report.
  3. When would we have developed him exactly? Drafted in 2019. Minors didn’t happen in 2020, and then Vaughn was on the team in 2021.
  4. A sales job?! I am losing my mind here. A sales job of what? He was putting up Maldonado numbers before he was cut.
  5. What young players would be rushed if he isn't on the team? Tim Elko who is already 25? Andrew Vaughn will put up better numbers than whatever Jose Abreu would put up this year.
  6. I thought his interview with Chuck yesterday was very insightful. He seemed to explain things in a very teachable way. Really hope it pans out. I also like, in general, the younger minds that are coming in (this hire, Venable, bench coach).
  7. Wait. Are there people who actually want to bring him back and are not joking?
  8. Are you worried about this preventing something else or something? I don't know if the guy making 1 million or 4 million really matters.
  9. Based on the mad libs you could play with this statement, it seems like a strong, smart hire from an organization who has been doing things right for quite a bit.
  10. Pretty sure that tweet just said he had worked with Vargas in the offseason, which really doesn't tell you that much.
  11. I still have never seen any evidence that he was some sort of team leader.
  12. Yeah outside of last year (which it looks like he had surgery at the end of 2023?) He seems serviceable.
  13. He's played a little first base but is primarily an outfielder. Isn't very good, but hopefully is taking Sheets' place even though he is right handed. New hitting coordinator must see something in him still?
  14. He also wrote an incredibly lame story about the loser Yankees fans who grabbed Mookie.
  15. What else are we supposed to be doing in a speculation thread about trades?
  16. And people thought all of this s%*# would be better than cable.
  17. At this point I hope the O's keep prospect hugging and continue to make early first round exits at best.
  18. Lot of teams are going through issues right now and aren't planning on moving. The rights are going to be owned by MLB entirely eventually.
  19. It seems pretty damn obvious there is going to be a market for Crochet, though. The shine on Cease was for sure low at the time. The time to move him was the 2023 deadline.
  20. The reality of what? That is some guy talking.
  21. PaleAleSox replied to oldsox's topic in The Diamond Club
I'm not arguing that Vaughn is better than Rizzo, but what a weird flex. Rizzo started playing in 2011.
  22. When would Abreu be a FA? 2030?
  23. A pitcher as the main piece would be a disaster of a trade.
  24. Some have already done that no matter what.
  25. That seems like more work than just paying 30 bucks.
