I think that would make the most sense for a team that trades for him. Basically say he will be used in the bullpen this year, see how the playoffs go, and then be a full fledged starter again next year with no restriction.
Yeah whatever they are getting out of this deadline needs to be headlined by a position player. I'm fine with pitching as a 2nd or 3rd piece, but the main piece needs to be positional for your big guns.
It's just wild to me. Why would he think their advice would be bad? It'd be one thing if he was getting results, but it would still be weird to not listen to Katz and Bannister who are highly regarded. What a geek.
