  1. Agreed. Might as well the dice and go for a trade deadline deal otherwise
  2. Tucker was at 4.7 in only 78 games last year after three straight years at 5.5. Robert has that upside but has been nowhere near that come on now
  3. I don’t think they’re very comparable in terms of both player quality and contract status, so I’d say it doesn’t tell much
  4. It’s kind of bs he has to be subject to this, considering. I don’t think I’ve seen a Japanese league player come over yet that wasn’t at least a decent bench player. He’s obviously a major league level pro
  5. And then he’s subject to normal service time rules? Or whoever posts the fee to his team just gets him?
  6. Question: do I have this straight? Teams can only offer him the international allotment. They can’t tell him they’ll give him a certain contract at all? Thanks
  7. If it’s a case where they actively want Walker off the roster, and where Getz could leverage it, it would be a more a question if they could use him. If Getz received an offer he liked, he could say that offer is comparable to others I like, but i’ll pull the trigger if you do this. Its not the greatest fit outside of relatively even salaries, but if they don’t want to play Castellanos every day anymore, maybe he could fit as 4th OFer. Seems like Castellanos reaching that stage
  8. What if it were Beni and Robert for Walker and whatever the Robert prospect package is
  9. The reports of the Phillies offer for Crochet is highly beneficial to Getz position here. Any GM thinking he had made a quality offer for Robert has to be wondering if Getz really does have a better offer out there
  10. Reds have made a lot of strange moves in recent years
  11. Well that seems like a pretty good haul. Maybe Getz does have an idea what he is doing
  12. Nevermind. I was looking for red sox logos but they were already updated to Sox🤣
  13. Where are you getting that they are top 60 prospects?
  14. Deferring 680 million of 700m for ten years seems idiotic to me. He could be dead by then for all he knows. And who knows how that would be worth by then. He could be transferring that cash into assets now. Would have been better off taking a front loaded 300 million deal
  15. Doesn’t seem to me that a GM would feel the need to psychologically prep the fan base for trading away their second tier prospects. It would have to be someone fans have pencilled in, in their minds. Anthony, Meyer and Campbell are the only ones that realistically fit that description. IMO of course
  16. Presuming Crochet is gone they don’t have a solid anything to anchor anything Whoever wrote this is very very bad at math
  17. You still don’t know he was cleared? I thought this had already been explained to you repeatedly
  18. Reds have made plenty of nonsensical moves so not so sure about that one.
  19. Sometimes I wonder if Manfred and JR are conspiring to kill my baseball fandom
  20. Well yeah that’s the issue with trading for prospects
  21. Youre probably right there, but he only played 68 innings at 3rd for O’s, so not sure how sound their conclusions could be based off that. These guys seem to think he’s third baseman though, in this clip prior to his call up, in which they discuss whether he is too good to trade:
  22. And good luck trading for the equivalent of a 21 year old Luis Robert anyway
  23. Besides the elimination of the juiced ball, I’m not sure how you arrived at that conclusion. He clearly compares favorably to Alonso at the same age
  24. At age 21, Mayo walked 93 times between AA and AAA in 614 PA. Robert walked 28 times in 551 PA. Come on, now, that’s not even comparable
  25. The. you’ve got the fact Mayo has a plus plus arm, so he has another tool all three of Thomas, Konerko and Alonso lacked. Theoretically he could stick at third. Not really an option for Alonso
