  1. If Montgomery was hitting .250, he would probably have been called up
  2. They had a stretch in May when they went 8-4 last year, of which the last two games were shutout wins
  3. I don't remember enjoying a single game last year. At least this team is entertaining at times
  4. What the H with all these interviews, trying to watch a ball game here
  5. What the H with all these interviews, trying to watch a ball game here
  6. 94.4 is about at the median for major league starters
  7. Clevinger made his return to the mound for the Knights last night. Reportedly his fastball was up from earlier in the year, averaging 94.4 vs 93.2. Three innings, 3 K, 1 R https://www.fantasyalarm.com/player-news/3623346/mike-clevinger-returns-to-starting-in-triple-a/ https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=LfYP1BjkD6w&pp=ygUfSGVyZSBjb21lcyBzdW5zaGluZSBkZWFkIHN0dWRpbw%3D%3D
  8. I'm drinking the Vargas kool-aid. He used to hit with his back elbow tucked. I believe that was the actual source of his problems. Even when he was struggling he was still showing good discipline at the plate. Only time will tell but the fact he's had immediate results upon making the adjustment indicates it may not just be a fluke. These guys are at such a high level to make the majors whether they are stars or flameouts, I think the difference is really that miniscule that simply lifting that back elbow could be enough to bridge the gap. At any rate, not much to be happy about as a Sox fan, so I'm just going to enjoy the small victories when I can
  9. At least move Vaughn down to eight if you're insisting on continuing to put him in the lineup. No reason he should be hitting in front of Baldwin, Vargas or Soa at this point
  10. I meant whether the text is legit or not is inconsequential. All that is true either way. No one with any other option wants to sign with the Sox and the Sox have hit rock bottom. We already knew Harper liked the Sox and got left hanging in favor of Machado, who of course they failed to sign
  11. Rojas in that scenario could still back up 2b, 3b and in effect 1b, since you can put him at 3b or 2b and plug in Vargas or Sosa at 1b with Beni in left and Fletcher or Taylor in RF
  12. Rojas can play outfield and would be a preferable option to someone like Palacios imo. If it were up to me, I'd dump Vaugn, Palacios and Dalbec in favor of Elko, Fletcher and Rojas. They could DH Benintendi and have Rojas in left and Fletcher in right against righties
  13. It's not like we're investigating a crime here. I don't know if this legit or not, but it sounds about right. Either way, it's completely inconsequential. One way or another, JR has crashed the Sox into the side of the mountain
  14. Is 5.85 million so dear, or Vaughn so sweet, as to be purchased at the price of a sub .500 OPS and awful defense? God forbid it. As for me, give me Elko or give me death
  15. I' m not saying he was an inevitable failure or that he wasnt a talented athlete but I would think a first round draft pick would have put up better numbers in high school. Plenty of QBs and basketball players couldn't hit high level pitching so not sure how that's relevant
