4/4 - Sox @ Tigers, 12:10 CDT - Cannon v. Flaherty

I'd rather just play Taylor against right handers. It's not like he hits them any worse than Jankowski. -
4/2 game, they going to get the game in?

Kind of hard to find a buyer who isn't a billionaire so it's basically a moot point -

Oops. I asked AI what was 171 days before Oct. 2. Can't trust it even for that evidently -

May 15 is the date, 171 days before end of season, Oct 2. -
It doesn't make sense in relation to the term source either. Twitter is a platform not a source, pitching ninja is the source. Maybe he is just a dipshit but I think he is more of a weasel in this case. Don't really care if he likes pitching ninja or not though
-
That's not how language typically works. The subject pronoun would be referring to the established subject, which was pitching ninja. Not sure how this is even debatable
-
Unless he has zero command of English, the antecedent of that "it" that he said was something he wouldn't use was "pitching ninja". If he's that bad at language he's in the wrong business. I don't think he is actually that inept, though
-
Why apologize because Schriffen backtracked. He was clearly referring to pitching ninja

Yeah I guess, still there's been too much Thaiss in the lineup should be 2:1 in favor of Lee imo -

Play Sosa and Lee ffs. How's a man supposed to get hot when you bench him subsequent to a three hit game -
I'm convinced JR deliberately dumped Bennetti and hoisted Schriffen on us as a deliberate Rachel Phelpsian FU to Sox fans, in part of some nefarious scheme to devalue the Sox, from which he somehow benefits
-
Perhaps because he was specifically referring to pitching ninja rather than Twitter itself
-
Yeah I forgot about them because Crochet isn't comparable to them. That was whole reason I brought them up
-
Rodon just had a healthy 2.0 WAR season and has had multiple better seasons than Crochet has had, just for one of countless examples of pitchers having worse seasons than they had previously. Just a couple years ago, Cease followed up a 6.4 WAR season with a healthy 2.2 season for another example.
-
Not if he puts up a 2 WAR season. Guys like Cole, Sale, Verlander, etc put up multiple 6+ WAR seasons in actuality rather than hypothetical ones
-
Don't get me wrong, I agree it's within realm of possibility Crochet puts up three 6 WAR seasons, but seems mighty speculative for a guy with a career high of 4.1 and career total of 6.
-
Wouldn't the value be based on the actual performance rather than a hypothetical rate. I'd think you'd have to actually pitch those 200 innings for them to have value
-
Yeah that was kind of my point in that response, that it wouldn't be a linear value as stated in post I replied to. (13m/WAR) Still not buying that 5 WAR is worth 50 million a year though. If the Sox signed a 5 WAR player to 50 million a year, would that result in an extra 50+ million in yearly revenue? I have my doubts
-
Sale never even had a 7 WAR season, but he had many seasons significantly better than any Crochett has had
-
Where you getting 7-8 WAR from? His career high is 4.1
-
So someone like Jose Quintana should be make around 35 million a year? Not sure where youre getting your maths. If I had twenty six 1 WAR players, I'd have a 330 million dollar payroll and a 74 win team, according to WAR.
-
You're telling me 4 WAR seasons are worth 56 million per now?
-
The ball went in the opposite direction of the runner though "No fielder has to have a direct path to the ball. The runner has to make the adjustment just like he's out if he gets hit by a groundball or line drive"
-
Looks like we might have some pitching and defense. May have to revise my 48-114 prediction

Ump ready to go home
