From Rotoworld: The White Sox will soon sign Japanese reliever Shingo Takatsu to a one-year, $1 million contract with an option for 2005. It appears that the Sox offered Takatsu, Japan's all-time saves leader, their closer's role in order to get the deal done. Some other teams were interested in him as a setup man. If the job really belongs to Takatsu, the White Sox may pay some team (Pittsburgh? Montreal?) to take the final year of Billy Koch's deal.

I had the same situation with my best friend. Unfortuantely things didn't work out between us for the girlfriend-boyfriend thing, but her and I are very good and very close friends. If you do get turned down, it'll hurt for a while, for me it was about a week or so. Of course you'll start remembering certain times you've had with her and those can beat you up fairly well. Time cures all ills, and so does an actual girlfriend .

Not so lucky for me. I was planning on applying to Notre Dame, Carnegie Mellon, Washington University in Saint Louis along with Indiana University. After I received my 2nd SAT scores back, that kind of eliminated the first three . I was accepted to IU three weeks ago I believe, and now I'm hoping for an exception so I can get directly admitted into the Kelley school of business. 1220 on the SATs and a 3.8 GPA probably won't cut it.
