Meh, you don't miss it much after a while. And there are so many products on the market that taste like meat that it's completely fine. Plus, I loooooove tofu.

That's the other thing, I have a talking through movies problem...So I think that if there were times when he would do somehting that was historically inaccurate I would probably say something. I'm a bit of a smart alec--believe it or not! But I bet I can con the boy into going--but man, that is a loooooooong movie. Especially when you know it's going to make you mad.

I make garlic/tomato asparagus and it is one of my favorite things in the world, yum, I'm going to the store tonight and picking up the stuff--just thinking about it! And so is my vegetable lasagna (I'm a vegetarian, so, yeah...). Oh, and potato leek soup. Pretty much any kind of potato--it's the world's perfect food. Ahhh, potato.

That's awesome! Congrats--and that will look great on a resume!

Part of me really wants to see it. But I know that 1.) It would probably really irk me. Because it would not be historically accurate since I believe that crucifixtion is a Roman crime, and as a result, the Romans are the one that are at "fault" for putting Jesus on the cross--not the Jews. and 2.) It's 12 friggin' hours and no way will anyone sit through that for me. So, I might wait for video. But I do have a feeling that this is going to set back Judeo-Christian relations...

Binghamton--it's a SUNY. I've heard they aren't the best for undergrad--but they've got amazing grad programs. And I won't have a single student loan for them--plus I'll be a state of New York employee. Woohoo. And, I'm definitely more of a Chomskian, Tex, so I'm thinking Language is hard wired. But that isn't much of what I'll be working on at school. I'll be doing phonetics stuff--spoken language recognition. Lots of that--and lexical processing there. I was telling my sister about the research I'll get to do--and there was this two minute pause before she says, why the hell does anyone want to know that. Heehee, to each her own I guess. But it is totally crazy to think that when I get my little PhD hood I'll be 27 (or that's when my garaunteed funding runs out...). So, thanks again for your kind words, and well wishing! They paid off, I got my first choice and NO MORE STUDENT LOANS. YEEHAW!

Just an update: I had a lovely time visiting upstate New York and the university there...My interviews were long, but not too stressful. (Calling them interviews were even a little bit of a stretch, but I did have them with 7 seperate faculty members--one was out sick.) The lady whose lab I was applying for was GREAT, and the people (faculty and other grad students were amazing too). So I was really hoping to get in (plus they fully fund their students--so that would be nice). And when I got home I already had the offer for the program. So...it looks like I'll be going to New York State for my PhD next year! And, let me say I am very, very, very excited and happy about it--because this was the lab I most wanted to work in. Hurray! Thank you everyone for the kind words! And don't worry Brando I was too tired to misbehave.

I don't know if anyone else here enjoys Ali G, but I just LOVE him. He's a white British comic who dresses up like a hip hop comic and interviews very famous people and asks very ignorant questions. Pretty funny. So, if you wanna here him the link is below. My favorite is the one entitle Woman. http://www.boyakasha.co.uk/index1.html

Okay, well, tomorrow I take my final and leave for home. Then I am flying out to New York until Tuesday. Cross your fingers for me--I got an interview with a grad school. They bought me a plane ticket--but I have 2 full days of interviewing. So--keep your fingers crossed for me. Hopefully it'll work out--it's a position I want with a nice assistantship and teaching/research combo...So, think warm fuzzy thoughts for me this weekend and next week!!!! Insert nervous scared face here.

If true, this is the kind of information you take to the POLICE not to the media. I mean this establishes PREDATORY behavior, I mean, come on. I feel like I'm taking crazy pills... Just absolutely disgusting. Pathetic.

Now, dotcha know it, I do. Actually, though, it looked so beautiful for the winter carnival--I've only been to canada in the Summer, but I saw my friends pictures--and wow. Ottawa is beautiful! And Montreal is really nice too. Let's face it, Canada is just a wonderful place.
-
Radio says high of -2....Grrrrrr, and I have to go to class because tomorrow is the final. My brilliant scheme is ruined. Brrrrrrrrrr.

Not from Canada but Ottawa has a winter carnival sometime in the winter--if that's when you're going. I would check to see if that's going on. Otherwise it's a gorgeous city!!!!

Shoot, just when I was hoping for a duet at the Grammys.... :headshake Judge Says R. Kelly Must Avoid Jackson Wed Jan 28, 8:06 PM ET By DON BABWIN, Associated Press Writer CHICAGO - R. Kelly won't be mingling with Michael Jackson (news) during next month's Grammy festivities: A judge has ordered the R&B star, who is awaiting trial on child pornography charges, to stay away from the King of Pop, himself facing child molestation charges, when Kelly attends the awards. The Chicago-based Kelly has produced two songs for Jackson: the 1995 hit "You Are Not Alone" and last fall's "One More Chance." Kelly is nominated for two Grammys (news - web sites) at the Feb. 8 ceremony and had to get a judge's permission to attend the Los Angeles event; Jackson is not up for any awards and there are no indications that he even plans to attend the ceremony. Prosecutors and Kelly's lawyers said they never raised the issue of a meeting between Jackson and Kelly during a hearing this week about Kelly's travel. Cook County Circuit Judge Vincent Gaughan made the edict on his own, they said. The judge was at a funeral Wednesday and could not be reached for comment. Kelly lawyer Edward Genson said Monday's ruling, first reported by the Chicago Sun-Times on Tuesday, was not a problem. "What's the difference if someone makes an order not to see someone he didn't want to see in the first place?" Genson asked. Kelly, already a Grammy winner, is nominated for best contemporary R&B album for his double-platinum album "Chocolate Factory" and best male R&B performance. Kelly was arrested in June 2002 after a videotape surfaced that allegedly showed him having sex with an underage girl. He has denied the charges alleged in a 21-count indictment. Jackson has pleaded innocent to seven counts of performing lewd or lascivious acts on a child under 14 and two counts of administering an intoxicating agent, reportedly wine. He was arrested in November. Kelly, who remains free on bond, has received Gaughan's permission to travel before. He has to be back in Chicago from his latest trip on Feb. 18.

Screw even going outside. I haven't gone to class the past two days. Minnesota is too darn cold. I'm protesting this nonsense. Thank goodness I'm graduating in May...

They still use it in Britain for a smoke. I was so shocked when I would go to the clubs and people would ask me for a one. I would say, Pardon! And then I would say, ohhhhhh, right. A CIGARETTE...Cultural confusion...

And we know we can trust Saddam's government papers. On a plus note--the German's weren't receiving bribes (who also had the security council veto). Oh, and Canada, and New Zealand. And Finland.

I had a Challenger space toy--not age appropiate--and my roommate and I still throw around a Challenger frisbee. I don't remember it--but what a very sad day...I just remember my 3rd grade teacher showing us a movie about it, and crying about all the people that died. The Columbia accident was on my first fullday in Scotland last year. I had asked my parents not to call because I thought it would be too hard to talk to them--but they knew I wouldn't have tv or internet right away--so they called to tell me it happened. I remember just sitting on the floor of my flat--not knowing anyone, being in a strange country and just crying for the horrible loss of life. It was so sad. And when I got home my dad and left me the front page of the Tribune from that day. I still have it. Man, what horrible tragedies...

Liberated doesn't mean sexually active in my book. It means in touch with your sexual boundries and comfortable with your own sexuality. Two very different things, at least to me. I think that those two things make it much easier to have an adult relationship and make it easier to be open, honest, and "good" healthy sexual. Sexuality definitly does not mean sex, it can, but it definitly doesn't have to....
