White Sox vs. Phillies, 6/12/07 (L)
Whitewashed in '05 replied to Gregory Pratt's topic in 2007 Season in Review
This thread is more interesting than the game. -
They are definitely letting it be known we suck and the players need to perform better.

2007 White Sox Catch-All Thread
Whitewashed in '05 replied to greasywheels121's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jun 12, 2007 -> 04:07 PM) Interesting read: http://sports.aol.com/fanhouse/2007/06/12/...-patti-labelle/ I wonder what happened... -
QUOTE(BearSox @ Jun 11, 2007 -> 10:49 PM) I don't want to rule anything out, but it seems more then likely the people who accused Uribe of shooting them were just con artists looking for money. I also hear that is a very common in the Dominican and places such as that. Oh well, that is barely pocket change to Uribe. I never really thought Uribe was guilty. Like you said, things like that are not uncommon in other countries.

QUOTE(Brian @ Jun 10, 2007 -> 09:49 PM) What a dumbass home umpire in the Cubs/Atlanta game. He was mic'd when he threw Lilly out. LOL, what did he say?

Dye trade rumors heating up
Whitewashed in '05 replied to RME JICO's topic in Sox Baseball Headquarters
QUOTE(WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Jun 10, 2007 -> 05:22 PM) Not to mention a great hook. I would love to have Billingsley, and the Sox would be foolish not to do this with the way Dye has played this year. Here is BA's top 10 overall prospects of 2006- 1. Delmon Young, of, Devil Rays 2. Justin Upton, ss, Diamondbacks 3. Brandon Wood, ss, Angels 4. Jeremy Hermida, of, Marlins 5. Stephen Drew, ss, Diamondbacks 6. Francisco Liriano, lhp, Twins 7. Chad Billingsley, rhp, Dodgers 8. Justin Verlander, rhp, Tigers 9. Lastings Milledge, of, Mets 10. Matt Cain, rhp, Giants That's nice company with Billingsley there. If KW could get him and someone else for Dye, it would be a great step to cheaply improve our rotation in comparison to our rivals. Not only that, but it could give us an extra OF spot to see what someone else can do for next year. -
White Sox vs. Astros, 6/10/07 (W)

A big congrats to Mark Buehrle on win 100. He should've have this long ago. -

QUOTE(BearSox @ Jun 10, 2007 -> 03:04 PM) Not a lot to talk about when the Sox are going good I see... Only 7 pages! If the score was reverse, we'd be at page 30 or something Well, it is good to see some good baseball from the White Sox once in a while. It's usually slow on sundays. -

QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 10, 2007 -> 02:36 PM) Dye's been really bad on 3-1 pitches this year, as he's been way too pull-happy and impatient. I love the idea of trying to trade him for someone like Billingsley. Our whole team has. I can't believe how many times this year they have let the pitcher right back into the count. -
QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 9, 2007 -> 06:12 PM) My comment had a lot more to do with the way he's handled the Toby Hall situation, as well as him and Buehrle not getting along. I give more credit to AJ than any other player for our 2005 season. However, you just want to make sure that he gets his focus back. I agree. Toby needs more AB's if he's going to be successful. There's no doubt AJ's attitude has played a role in Toby's playing time. We all know Ozzie treats his bench like supersubs. Not getting along with Buehrle, is that speculation because of the radio thing or do you have info? If you can't post it PM me.

QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 10, 2007 -> 02:24 PM) Flashbacks of Crede's homer against Rodriguez in the WS after seeing Uribe's homer. And I'm officially on the Terrero as starting outfielder for rest of season bandwagon. There's really nothing to lose. He really has some nice tools, but has yet to put it together. If he can come into his own we suddenly have a nice outfielder and hopefully one of our top OF prospects can contribute. It would be nice to add some pop through trade or FA in the offseason in the last OF spot. -
I am a big Garland fan. I definitely think he needs to be extended. He is a good pitcher, at least keeps his team in the game on a bad day. When he's hot, he's really good. He fields his position well and keeps baserunners honest. To go along with his attitude for ex, in spring training taking the minor league invites to play golf and pick his brain. If we fail to re-sign Buehrle, (hope not), he must be extended immediately. Hell even if we do re-sign Buehrle, he still needs to be extended.

QUOTE(Balance @ Jun 9, 2007 -> 09:39 PM) I was at the game today. And despite the glorious weather, the game was an afternoon of utter craptastic-ness that defies belief. It's so hard to root for these guys right now. There's no spark, there's no life, there's no reason to get excited. Yeah I went too. I miss the energy and confidence of knowing you have a chance in the late innings.

Where KW is going with this team
Whitewashed in '05 replied to caulfield12's topic in Sox Baseball Headquarters
If this team ends up under .500 the only way KW is going to keep the fans in the seats is if he makes a big splash in the FA market. I don't think all of the fans that have season tickets right now really want to see a rebuilding project 2 years off a championship. -
QUOTE(SoxAce @ Jun 7, 2007 -> 11:59 PM) All he did was give A-Rod a cookie and just granny it up alittle. At least Aardsma was K'ing people (esp K/9 IP) and getting out of big jams this season regardless. I think too many people gave up on him too quickly. MMac was obviously not right but his past history shows us that he's better than this. What other options do we have? IMO they are the future of our bullpen. It's not like they were giving up cookies to the plate. What the hell have Prinz and Bukvich done in their careers in the bigs? One had one fluke season and the other walks the world. I know it's still early to judge the two guys and I'm sure they might get a 1-2-3 inning sometime, but you know they won't hang with the big boys. At the very least let some good arms work through their s***. Masset is still up here and he should be in AAA. He is actually worse than both Aardsma and MMac. Aardsma was striking people out and getting out of big jams early in the season then after the Cubs series he would be 3-0, 3-1 to every batter then walk them or give up a hit. Same with Mac, he really has some sick movement, but he could not locate his pitches AT ALL. They should put him on the DL. Maybe that little injury made him alter his delivery slightly or something so his control is out of wack. I see your point that these are the two guys important to our future, but they need to be able to throw strikes.

Merkin and the Crew Have a Little Fun
Whitewashed in '05 replied to Gregory Pratt's topic in Pale Hose Talk
LOL at AJ. -
QUOTE(BearSox @ Jun 7, 2007 -> 11:48 PM) No, Bukvich just laid one in there for Arod. Also, when will it be time for Wing and Vazquez to get called up? Carlos Vazquez is already here OHH you mean Carlos Vasquez.

That's it, blow the whole f***ing thing up
Whitewashed in '05 replied to whitesoxfan101's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Comon guys, just listen to Hawk... All we need is one of those season turning moments where we can look back and say "that was a big game during the 07 season." -
QUOTE(SoxAce @ Jun 7, 2007 -> 11:34 PM) I'd rather have Aardsma and MMac back up to work their way back to top form then these rejects. IMO, we are better off with them anyway and seeing what they got for us in the future. They are our future... hopefully. Sisco can stay down. He needs work altogether.I believe Aardsma and MMac are better for us than Bukvich and Prinz. Lol, I don't know about you, but watching them two throw 3 straight balls to all the batters they see was getting under my skin like never before. Then again I didn't see Bukvich today so maybe he did that too.

QUOTE(max power @ Jun 7, 2007 -> 11:39 PM) That probably has more to do with us being a pretty damn good 1st half team than anything else. ...and a terrible 2nd half team while the Twins are always in the top.
-
QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 7, 2007 -> 11:34 PM) Whoever it is, it won't be a Boras player. Be patient....KW would look like an even bigger idiot if he publically came out and bashed this team's personnel. If this losing keeps up, we'll be sellers. KW usually hypes his players up enough that he gets decent return even if their nothing. He might be doing it again this year with his interviews. I can't see how he sees this team competing with the top 2 teams in this division.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 7, 2007 -> 11:31 PM) So, who projects to be @ the top of next year's draft? Since I really started following the sox, this is the first time I have written the season off so damn early. I mean usually were mediocre enough to be 5, 6 games out. With the Tigers and Tribe and the other teams we can't seem to beat I don't see how KW can possibly think he is a buyer. I also like all the people who are using the Twins as an example last year for our comeback...Like we have Santana, Liriano, a great bullpen. LOL, I usually don't give up on a team like this year.
-
El Caballo!!! He really stepped it up in 04 when Maggs and Big Frank went down, but we didn't have the pitching. An old favorite coming back. I would definitely cheer for him. It would be nice if he just didn't get booed.
-
Oh yeah... I think were going to give that baseball prospectus record a run for its money this year.
-
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 7, 2007 -> 11:20 PM) How in the world can people still legitimately complain about the Tigers spending more on Ordonez than us? Letting Magglio walk turned out to be perhaps the best decision in White Sox history. Yup, I was a huge Maggs fan. Still like him for what he did for us. He kept his mouth shut and played the game. At the same time, we used the money he was getting for very important parts of out 05 championship ballclub.
