  1. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 18, 2007 -> 04:44 PM) The best fights rarely include punches landed. Chan Ho Park kicking Tim Belcher, Mo Vaughn tackling George Bell, Izzy Alcantary kicking the catcher, Mike Sweeney knocking out Jeff Weaver, Kyle Farnsworth slamming Paul Wilson, etc. Farnsy also took Affedlt from the Royals down.
  2. QUOTE(dasox24 @ Jun 17, 2007 -> 03:26 PM) As much as I don't want us to win b/c I don't want KW thinking we have a shot to make the playoffs and keeping all our old guys, I couldn't help but root for us to pull that one out. I guess when it comes down to it, I just don't like losing. I wouldn't ever want us not to win, but would rather have KW realize this team isn't going to cut it. I don't see how he doesn't realize this team would be lucky as hell to be .500 in the end. Oh and welcome back Mac, I see your extensive time in the minors got you back on track.
  3. QUOTE(Brian @ Jun 17, 2007 -> 03:15 PM) I knew Heads should of started the thread! Screw you too I don't think anyone's luck can give Javy a win...
  4. My first game thread ever!!! Lets go sox!! String a few together!
  5. So does this mean KW is going for it this season?
  6. Looks like their going to have to work on his defense too. He definitely has upside, but is still somewhat of a project.
  7. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Jun 16, 2007 -> 11:03 AM) Minaya will jump at the opportunity to get a character like Buehrle in here, and i would not doubt that he could re-sign him either. If we got Pelfrey/Milledge for Buehrle, you can consider this suckfest of a season a success in my book. It would be nice if we could re-sign him in the offseason and swing Count in a deal with Pelfrey to replace him.
  8. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jun 16, 2007 -> 10:34 AM) I think you could use the Freddy Garcia trade as a measuring stick. Reed was highly thought of, as was Olivo who also was playing decently on the major league level, and Morse was a decent prospect. Buerhle has to be considered better than Garcia, so KW should get a little better package than that. Good point. With the market these days and Buehrle being the best arm available, we need to demand kings ransom and get it too. There will be a lot of teams in line for his services. Negotiations should start with Milledge and Pelfrey for Buehrle. That is a lot to ask for 2 months of Buehrle, but seeing as how many other teams will be after him it might not be out of the question especially if they start getting creative with it and adding more players. With our GM's history in acquiring the most he can out of his guys... we will probably be disappointed with the outcome, but were also dealing with Minaya here.
  9. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jun 14, 2007 -> 12:42 AM) im pretty sure he didnt face the mininum in that game. Because like you said 3 hits from Ichiro and its hard to believe he got out on a double play 3 times. The other time he did face the mininum was vs Cleveland a couple years back, in that game he allowed 2 baserunners both which ended up turning into double plays. Also his last out of that game was Grady Sizemore's first ab if I remember right. You are right. The game I confused it with was that Cleveland game where he faced 1 over the minimum.
  10. QUOTE(dasox24 @ Jun 13, 2007 -> 11:22 PM) Maybe we could just sign Buerhle at the end of the season In all seriousness, I wonder why that never happens: A player that's been with a team for a long time gets traded in his FA year, and then signs with that team again in the offseason as a way to help the team acquire talent. If I played for the White Sox and knew we weren't going anywhere this year, I'd go to another team for 1/2 a year, so the Sox could get great young talent, and then just resign with them in the offseason. The only time I know that's ever happened is Ponson to the Giants then re-signs with O's. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 13, 2007 -> 11:23 PM) Sidney Ponson Damn you.
  11. Considering how close some of our guys have been to no hitters I'm glad we finally got one by Buehrle this season. That start by Buehrle vs the Mariners in 05 where he struck out 12 and allowed three hits all to Ichiro facing the minimum and recording the fastest game. You could argue 3 hits is done a lot, but all to Ichiro while facing the minimum is quite a feat. Then those Garcia starts vs the Twins and Angels where he only allowed one hit. Anywho, Verlander is flat out nasty. One thing about watching great things like that happen is I enjoy them more after we've done them. Kind of that "I remember that feeling..."
  12. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jun 12, 2007 -> 10:43 PM) This is a real good idea. There is no reason to have Hall out there. Get his Labrum repaired and reload for next year. Unless he has a problem they won't do it. http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/6916072...P&GT1=10136 Read this KW. Chicago White Sox Status: Dead The division is too tough, and the offense is too bad. Despite playing in a great hitter's park, the White Sox rank last in the AL in runs scored per game. The time to rebuild has arrived.
  13. Looks like we might get a top 5 pick.
  14. QUOTE(DonnyDevito @ Jun 12, 2007 -> 10:35 PM) yes, i admitted my guilt and got off like OJ. i won't insult long time posters like that again. Damnit!
  15. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 12, 2007 -> 09:24 PM) This coming from the man who wants to start Cintron. Get rid of everyone that swings at the first pitch is his goal.
  16. QUOTE(DonnyDevito @ Jun 12, 2007 -> 09:23 PM) instead of just b*tching and moaning like a typical hard headed chicagoan, yes they should post their ideas and make the thread constructive instead of clearly being destructive which is what it has become. but that's okay because there are plenty of sox message boards on the net where they are actually friendly. i'd like to take this time to let this board filled with hard headed people who offer nothing and criticize everything, that i am retiring. i am going to a board where the content of one's post matters, not their post count. look at your post counts. no wonder many of you have the mental capacity of a worm. Maybe you're criticized because you have crappy ideas?
  17. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 12, 2007 -> 09:11 PM) I'd do away with you if you weren't so damn entertaining. NO DON'T.
  18. QUOTE(DonnyDevito @ Jun 12, 2007 -> 09:11 PM) he can work a full count. besides, Uribe's #'s have done nothing but decline for years on end. again, can any of you hard headed fools post a constructive idea or just continue to criticize? LOL!!!!
  19. QUOTE(DonnyDevito @ Jun 12, 2007 -> 09:05 PM) you better believe Uribe would but cut loose as well. no first pitch hackers on this squad. atleast no Uribe. that's all i care about. that slacker has to go. he is a colorado rockies throw away player. you know he is subpar just by that alone. What kind of hitter do you think Cintron is?
  20. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 12, 2007 -> 01:50 PM) Goose. Bumps. Yup... Every time. Memories...
  21. QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 12, 2007 -> 08:53 PM) I have a feeling you're going to get sent down to the minors. Lol. So he's in the sox bullpen?
