  1. I don't think we know quite yet. But what I do know is that he should stay in the rotation until we figure that out.
  2. Might already have been posted here but in Law’s last mock, he had Bart going to Detroit.
  3. I am dubious of this, as well. I do not think Hahn would have taken the role of the GM if KW could just swoop in and unilaterally go against a room consensus.
  4. Also watched Singer, very much disappointed. I suppose I am back on the Madrigal over him.
  5. Langenhagen from fangraphs on SoxMachine pod I believe.
  6. Sox are obviously huge proponents of the trackman data, which is one of the reasons they took Burger. I wonder if Oregon State has it and if the Sox have data on Madrigal's exit velocities and launch angles. Based on your observations (granted limited sample), might not be great. Unanimous top-5 pick entering the season. Performed better than his sophomore year. No loss in stuff. No arm issues. He may not have Ace upside, but I also don't think there is a Kris Bryant in this draft, either.
  7. No idea where this Twitter account got the video (or for that matter if this is legit), but passing along.
  8. He had the Shields trade well before anyone. He does get stuff wrong and is sometimes annoying, but it is not like he made a lucky guess with the Shields trade. As you said, someone gave him that info.
  9. Re Schnell from Longenhagen:
  10. Maybe the White Sox thinking in this draft is that it is better to get two top-30 talents (using saved money from No. 4 at No. 46) than one top-five player and another top 50-player. Maybe they LIKE Singer/Madrigal/others but don't LOVE them and see the above strategy as a better use of resources.
  11. Some interesting draft buzz from MLB Prospects Pipeline regarding Indiana HS OF Nicholas Schnell: https://www.mlb.com/news/latest-2018-mlb-draft-news-from-callis-mayo/c-277888816?tid=167757330
  12. I like Madrigal, but a huge part of me fears he is Kevin Newman redux.
  13. Still first-round caliber player, but not 1-1 or near the top 10 anymore. Didn't have a great summer with the bat and people began to question whether he could hit in the majors.
  14. I keep vacillating on Madrigal v. Singer now. If Mize were somehow available, he is the no-brainer pick for me. But I do have doubts that Madrigal will be able to hit for anything more than 10-15 HRs, which definitely limits his offensive upside no matter how good his approach is at the plate. I just looked at Singer's numbers this year: 2.25 ERA, 88 innings, 59 hits, 18 BBs, 92 Ks, good for a 0.88 WHIP and 5.11 K-to-BB ratio. All of his numbers have improved since his sophomore year after which he was anointed the top pitcher in college baseball for 2018. I would love for him to be picked by the Sox.
  15. On the BA Draft podcast, they downplayed the Mize rumors. Said very likely could be them trying to get his cost down by "looking" at other players.
  16. Giolito right now is a combination of bad stuff and bad command. He doesn't belong in the majors. On BA Draft podcast recently, Manuel mentioned how much better his stuff was in high school than it is now. Kind of a sad realization.
  17. Unfortunately, you are probably right.
  18. Luckily plenty of pitchers who have become successful in the MLB have struggled mightily in the majors. Go back to AAA, work on your mechanics, get your confidence back and hopefully he will be ready to come back in July or August.
  19. Totally forgot about this. Great call.
  20. I just do not think Kopech will be ready in two months. If he were dominating AAA, that would be different, but he is mixing in great starts with mediocre starts. Maybe it's my philosophy, but I don't think a player should be promoted mid-season unless the current level is not a challenge.
  21. Basically equal stats to Kris Bryant, but played against better competition.
  22. Future Value. The max is 80, which is super super rare. I don't believe I have seen anyone with an 80 FV ever. For reference sake, Acuna and Vlad Jr,, MLB Pipeline's top two prospects are both 70 FVs.
  23. New Law Mock Draft Tigers - Mize Giants - Bart Phillies - Bohm Law also notes that Madigal is not in play with Giants or Phillies. So looks like he will be available at 4 at this point.
