Official 2018-19 NFL Thread

This totally. RedZone is the greatest channel ever, but when the Bears are on you can't watch it (unless you have multiple TVs, which I don't). -
It's because second-degree murder is justified by various factors (either sudden and intense provocation or the unreasonable belief in the need to use self-defense) whereas aggravated battery is not justified at all.
-
These awards are very much offensively stat-based.

Agreed, especially b/c he can always say, I can't control what the FBI investigates, that's a White House directive. He can appease voters on the left that he called for the FBI investigation by withholding his vote and appease the right by ultimately voting for Kavanaugh.

Sox have "flexibility" to add "long term pieces"

I don't think there is any way to evaluate the Sox drafting and development and call it a success. -
Vaughn will likely be the best college bat in this draft, and based on numbers, one of the better college bats in recent memory. Most reports indicate that he will be relegated to being a first baseman. Therein lies the rub. Can you draft a first baseman with the No. 3 overall pick? His sophomore year stats are very similar to Frank Thomas' junior year stats, and well, I think we would take Frank Thomas with the No. 3 pick. He will be an interesting case study.

Mack is likely out, so not the three-headed monster to deal with there. Decent chance. -

I don't think we will get him, but I don't think it will be from a lack of trying. I think the Sox will offer a lot but fall short ala A-Rod years ago. Unfortunately, there are other teams that will be bidding that have a lot more financial resources (Yanks, Dodgers, Phillies). -
The problem is the drinking goes to the heart of the allegation. Dr. Ford testified that Kavanaugh was basically drunk as he was attempting to sexually assault her.

Klobuchar was also a prosecutor.

Not that Pro Football Focus is the end all be all, but according to their rankings, the Bears have two top 5 CBs (Callahan and Amukamara), two top 10 safeties, two top 10 D-lineman (Hicks and Goldman) and the best edge rusher. Not bad. -

Winning by the narrowest of margins. I say winning because I am honestly worried about a stat correction, and even the smallest one could affect the result. -

So you have a TE on your bench in Burton? You must have a solid starter then. I would drop him and use Murray personally. -

Who else in on your bench? Murray is in line for a huge workload against the Bills. He could easily be a week winner. -
They have Madrigal (19) over Mize (33)? Was that how they had their final draft rankings? Found final rankings, they had Mize over Madrigal but barely.
-
Prior to last week, it was definitely 3 to 1 Casten. But this past weekend, Roskam has definitely closed the gap it seems. Closer to 50/50.
-
For what it's worth, I live in the district and, at least in Wheaton (which has a reputation for being super conservative), there are way more Casten signs than Roskam.
-
They would not win a grievance. He's been in AAA half a season, the Sox have no history holding players back b/c of services time issues, and in fact have done the opposite with Kopech and Moncada as the article notes.
-
This is why when you are in a rebuild, you exercise extreme patience with talented pitchers. I have no clue if Giolito will continue to improve and become a solid starter, but he has made strides as the season has progressed. Just keep sending him out there every fifth day.

MLB Pipeline came out with its post-summer top 10 for college prospects: 1. Adley Rutschman, C, Oregon State 2. Andrew Vaughn,1B, Cal 3. Logan Davidson, SS, Clemson 4. Shea Langeliers, C, Baylor 5. Nick Lodolo, LHP, TCU Rutschman seems to be in a class of his own currently among the college players. Vaughn seems like one of the better pure college hitters in the draft over the past few years, but his lack of defensive value might make him a reach in the top 5.
-
He's really had a terrific year. IMO, second most likely OF to be a future major leaguer. His defense, left-handedness and general hitting ability should make him at worst a reserve outfielder.
-
Also selected Burdi. I generally don't get excited about any relief prospects until they perform at AA and above.

Operating in a gray area. Got it.
