  1. If we don't score this run from 3rd, I can almost guarantee a fourth run from the Rays.
  2. Aybar is not having a good inning. We better frickin capitalize.
  3. Charlis Burdie with 3 innings and 0 hits. Making his ridiculous season even more ridiculous. 53 inning, 19 hits and 59 Ks. Why is he in Low-A?
  4. Man Pods is good. Bunt/Sac Fly time.
  5. Patience against Balfour. Please just take.
  6. Put some damn insurance runs off the board.
  7. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 20, 2009 -> 09:00 PM) You mean Linebrink? Actually, now looking at where we are in their lineup. Liney will probably start the 8th, assuming Gavin gets out of the 7th. Hell that scared me.
  8. That was a K pitch, but also a hanging change.
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 20, 2009 -> 08:58 PM) You really hate Nix, don't you? He's got so much talent, but again, like a lot of our players, refuses to go opposite field.
  10. 2 more out Gavin and then Thorty and Jenks. This is a huge game, come on guys.
  11. This game has bad vibes to it. We have stopped hitting with runners on and the Rays can explode for quick runs.
  12. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 20, 2009 -> 08:10 PM) Upchurch and Griffith both have bad games. 6 runs in 4 innings. Adam Russel with 4 hitless innings of relief work in Charlotte though Wouldn't be surprised to see him back in the big leagues soon. He seemed like he pitched better than his numbers indicate last year. Also when he was on, he was very tough to hit, throwing that hard from the angles he does.
  13. QUOTE (jphat007 @ Jul 19, 2009 -> 02:54 PM) LOL. People are blaming Ozzie because Jose, Aaron and DJ suck? lol I don't think anyone is doing that. But, what good does ripping his players do? Why must he always talk negatively about players to the media? It's just stupid.
  14. Alright, let's get two runs this inning and get back in the game.
  15. Whenever Carrasco drops done, he either throws a ball or gets hit. I don't I've seen a successful drop down by him this year.
  16. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 19, 2009 -> 02:46 PM) The last 30 days or so, the Sox offense is ranked #1 in just about every major category. So there is still a chance. I wonder what the Sox record is the past couple of seasons for 3 game series in which they won the first 2. Its almost automatic they lose. It does seam that way. Usually, because Ozzie loves his s*** Sunday lineups. But we are just terrible at closing out series.
  17. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 19, 2009 -> 02:43 PM) Link has been TERRIBLE in the minors recently. He had one horrible outing in July where he gave up 5 ER in an inning. Take that one bad inning, his ERA is 2.79. I would say he has been fine in AAA.
  18. Carrasco is so bad too. Give me Nunez and Link please over Poreda and Carrasco. Yeah, Carrasco can burn innings, but he floats s***ty breaking pitches us to the plate like it's BP. Man our relief has sucked recently.
  19. Well maybe if Ozzie didn't bash him earlier, the kid would have more confidence in himself. That's what pisses me off about Ozzie, he criticizes his own players to the media way too much. There is no need for that type of stuff.
  20. The next time Poreda throws in the high 90s will be the first time. I have no idea how he was ever clocked that high.
  21. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 19, 2009 -> 12:49 PM) I still believe Halladay and 1 1/3 seasons from him is not worth the cost. The Morrissey idea is just stupid. We are a worse team trading Danks and Ramirez for Halladay. And if we give up just minor leaguers for Halladay, we kill our system and again have a one-year window to win it all next year with very little flexibility in FA and nothing ready in the minors. I am content to sit and play with what we have. We will be competitive for a division this year clearly, but keeping everybody and adding two pieces in FA + the solid minor league players next year, we have a window of at least 3-5 years of highly competitive teams. Everybody would love Halladay, but the price is just outrageous.
  22. No offense to Getz, but why the hell is Beckham (a big-time RBI producer) after Getz? JD/Thome/Konerko have been on base a lot recently, so why not let your better RBI producer protect them.
  23. Here's another thing, Poreda has about 75 innings pitched this year between AA and the majors. If he sticks in the pen the rest of the year, he likely won't hit 100 innings. How the heck can he be a potential starter next year for us next year when we aren't building his endurance?
  24. It depends on how Hudson's stuff rates out. If the scouts are clocking him in the low 90s, he's probably outside the top 50. If he's in the mid 90s, he could crack the top 50. The rankings are very much stuff dependent.
  25. No one is running away with the American League award. He definitely is in the race. Romero/Porcello/Bailey seem like the biggest competition, but Porcello recent struggles will probably continue he'll fade more in the second half. Romero is having a great year, but lacks wins. Bailey, too, is having an amazing year, but as a reliever on a bad team, he could get overlooked. I really like Gordon's chances, especially if he keeps the RBIs up.
