  1. Hey, Jas, did Hahn ever respond to you? But for Sickels: What do you think of Aaron Cunningham, does he have a bright future?
  2. Do you need Windows Media Player to do it? If you do how do you download it b/c when i try I get the application as a .sitx and can't open it. What do i need to do in order to watch MLB TV on my mac. I need to see my Sox games, someone help.
  3. Ryan Sweeney. Let him play RF, while moving JD to left. He is a good OBP guy with low strikeout numbers. He obviously won't steal many bases, but he'll be just as effective a leadoff hitter as Pods, with better fielding and hitting. This way, you don't ask Ryan to hit home runs right away, but be patient and hit the gaps. I really think it would be a good way to introduce him to league. One could argue, however, being a leadoff hitter puts too much pressure on him. What do you guys think, am I off my rocker ()? I don't see many alternatives in FA or via trades.
  4. Broadway is not a weak arm pitcher. He throws in the low 90's with good secondary pitches. He has great control. He has a great pitcher's body as well. Broadway is a good bet to be in the majors for 10 years as a #3 type pitcher. Garza and Carillo both have 1-2 type stuff, but are more injury prone as we have seen already with Carillo. Garza may be stud and then may get injured, you never know. The Sox went the safe way. How come 30 teams missed Mike Piazza 50+ times? It just happens that way. Also, McCulloch is not a weak armed pitcher either. He throws in the low 90's and can reach as high as 94. He may be a finesse type pitcher, but he certainly does not have a weak arm like Buehrle. Think Brad Radke who can throw the ball hard, but knows when to dial it up and when to bring it down a little for better control. The one thing that we can complain about our scouts is the piss-poor effort in Latin America. We have next to nothing in terms in Latin American talent that you could see in the majors one day. Francisco Hernandez is about it and he is struggling, we really need to become better in LA scouting, but part of that is JR, KW and DW, not necessarily the scouts. We don't really have a LA budget to sign the top talent like the Sawks or Yankees. But we also haven't found any diamond in the roughs either.
  5. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jul 31, 2006 -> 11:12 PM) Broadway almost has that K/BB ratio up to 3-to-1. That's encouraging. He's still not a leaguewide top pitching prospect, but I think there's a good chance that (so long as he finishes the season strong) he's the Sox #1 prospect after this season. I am pretty sure Fields will be #1 unless he tanks the rest of the season, but Lance certainly should be next.

QUOTE(southsideirish @ Jul 31, 2006 -> 03:17 PM) ok? and our record is horrible this year? It is? In what way? We are forced to overpay for something not so special? Why? We have a good team. A playoff caliber team. Just settle down and thing positively. We are 9-15 this month, that is horrible for a team as good as we are supposed to be.
  7. maggsmaggs replied to Xero's topic in Pale Hose Talk
yeah, KW and OG are pretty naive to think that this team can still win it all. We have two average pitchers and three spiffty pitchers, while the Twins have two superstars, 1 average and two spiffty (but Garza is on the way,) while Detroit has one stud, thee above-average and one average. Both teams also have better pens than ours, so basically we are screwed.
  8. Alright, I think I have made up my mind. MVP '05 and NCAA Football '07. What do you guys think of that mix?
  9. KW needs to trade Vaz to the Mets for a can of pine tar or whatever they can get. Just get rid of his contract, the Mets would take him and Mac can be the starter.
  10. Anderson should be in CF, Mack in LF. There is lefty on the mound so take Pods out. I would rather have Mack against the lefty.
  11. I think we need the Rally Gload if we win this game.
  12. Also power arms are less likely to be in the big leagues a long time. When you draft a guy in the first couple of rounds, you expect that pitcher to be a big leaguer for 10+ years. Broadway is not a finesse pitcher, he is a damn good prospect. He is the type that will last for 10+ years as a 2-4 type starter. Power arms don't unless you have a top 15 pick, which I don't want to have. The power arms that get drafted in the top 15 are risky, but they are usually more complete and aren't just power pitchers, but guys who can locate their stuff.
  13. QUOTE(WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Jul 27, 2006 -> 01:47 PM) Two suggestions Madden 2007 NCAA football 2007 I am thinking Madden, but I am not sure about another football game. For all the PS2 games, do you have to have a memory card or something to save seasons?
  14. What two sport games should I buy? I need some help. I am looking between two of these kinds of games: baseball, basketball, football. Give me some help.
  15. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Jul 27, 2006 -> 08:42 AM) Why would you move Crede up? The reason he's 7th to begin with is to break up 3 consecutive right handed hitters. As far as Mackowiak starting, he's not that great on D either and I'd rather take my chances with Pods starting to play better down the stretch. I'm not into all of these gimmick changes. Just play better and win games. They won the first half with their current lineup, they can do it now. You want ur best run producers up in the line-up and Crede is better than AJ. I want Crede up to get a key SAC Fly not AJ. We would still have Crede, Uribe, Anderson at the end of the line-up, so that's still three righties and a much worse version than Konerko, Dye and Crede. Bottom line, Crede > Pierzynski, I want Crede to be the benefit of Thome walking.
  16. I don't think we are catching Detroit, so Its basically a three team race for the wild card: us, Twins, Yankees. We are better than the Yankees, their pitching is still worse than us. But, I would pick the Twins ahead of us pending the trade deadline outcome. Right now, the Twins bullpen is dynamite with more on the way in the minors. Plus, Liriano and Santana is just too dominant. I would say solely because of the pitching Twins, Sox, Yanks.
  17. LF. Mackowiak 2b. Iguchi DH. Thome 1b. Konerko RF. Dye 3b. Crede C. Pierzynski SS. Uribe CF. Anderson So basically two moves, one Mack in, Pods out. The second, switching Crede and Pierzynski. I think Mack can be a fine defensive LF, much better than Pods and he is a better hitter. Pods isn't stealing bases, so Mack's stolen base potential is nullified. He has a good OBP this year and if he gets some at-bats in a row, his SLUG% will go up. What does everybody think? I am just sick of Pods' D, his horrible clutchness and his inability to be a good leadoff hitter now (SBs, INF singles, bunt singles.) I am also sick of the Anderson platoon, he is hitting now and needs to be in the line-up every day especially because of his D.
  18. As far as I see it we still need a relief pitcher. I would not be suprised to see Riske moved, he has not really shown me much. Gload will be gone. And it seems like a big deal involving a starter is upon the horizon. My guess is that: Gload, Riske and Garcia/Vaz are gone by the deadline.
  19. QUOTE(Sox It To Em @ Jul 24, 2006 -> 08:16 PM) In all honesty, not much has happened since the ESPN report from this afternoon. Kenny has outright denied any intention to trade McCarthy, so, based on the limited amount of knowledge available, either the deal is dead or Kenny is developing another package to offer. Thanks.
  20. QUOTE(Felix @ Jul 24, 2006 -> 08:14 PM) Same here. I just got home from work, and I did read that KW said that BMac is going no where under no circumstances, but is there anything else to note? Any updates from Sportscenter, Levine or Ofman?
  21. Could someone just give me the latest? I have been gone since 4:30, so if someone could just tell me what the news is now I would appreciate it? 42 pages is just too much.
  22. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jul 24, 2006 -> 03:44 PM) Non prospect Wascar Segura in Bristol for performance enhancers. http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...tesox-headlines shoot and he was just coming into his own
