Recruiting Thread
QUOTE(thedoctor @ Jul 16, 2006 -> 07:06 PM) derrick rose teams with eric gordon to win peach jam. I am feeling more confident every day about Derek going to U of I. With he and Gordon playing so well together, plus being good friends, plus Derek wants to play in a guard-oriented motion offense, plus its close to home, ILL is looking pretty promising.

Out of the Park Baseball
QUOTE(redandwhite @ Jul 16, 2006 -> 07:14 PM) I highly recommend it. The new version is spectacular. It's realistic, it's entertaining, it's loads of fun. I love it, much more than I did/do 3d video games. I have heard of some minor troubles for Macs, as it is there first time making it available for Mac users, but all minor problems will be fixed as time goes on. You just have to download the updated patches and check out the site. Thanks a ton. Going to college, I won't be able to play my MVP 05, so I was looking for something and this seemed like a good option. Glad you recommended it.

I am interested in buying the game for my mac. Is it worth it? How much fun is it? Realistic? Any impressions about the game would be appreciated. Thanks.

7/15 Game Thread White Sox vs. Yankees
QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jul 15, 2006 -> 01:42 PM) Yeah, I'm sure he doesn't care. After those first two runs, he said, f*** it, I don't care if we win. He is just laying in first pitches right over the heart of the plate. Not caring was too harsh, but he is not focused.

Buehrle just quit and let all of teammates down. I have never seen a pitcher who quits on his team after errors as much as Mark. This is the third straight start he just didn't care.

We need to hit Moose's fastball, his split and knuckle curve look unhittable today. They need to be swinging first pitch.

A-Rod was in to that at-bat at all. 2 outs.

QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 15, 2006 -> 12:41 PM) We have the most overrated starting pitching in all of baseball. We are second after the Cubs, but point taken.

<FutureSox.com>Liotta Sent Down; Russell To Birmingham
QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Jul 13, 2006 -> 03:25 PM) Harrell, while having the better overall numbers, has been very average the last month. Russell, who's a couple years older, needs to be pushed. Harrell just needs to continue to improve control, while advancing a level per year. Yeah, I agree. Harrell is only 21 years old. At this rate, he will be in AAA by 23 and be in perfect sequence. Russell, on the other hand, is 23 and needs to be pushed to see how good of a prospect he is. Right now, Russell probably doesn't have much trade value, but if he succeeds at AA, his value will shoot up. 6-8 pitchers who do well have good value because of the angles they provide and the potential to add velocity as they fill out.

Minor League All-Star Game
Phillips changes speeds really well. Hits the corners, pitches quickily. He is scary similar to Mark. However, Mark has 5 quality pitches whereas Heath has 3. But either way, it's nice to have some good pitching prospects.

7/12 Games
Haeger is starting the Triple A All-Star game against Rich Hill. Fields is hitting third, Young 6th and Velandia 9th. Haeger should go 2 and hopefully Phillips pitches as well.

Paulie also was at least 15 feet from the bag, so he really could not have slid anyways.
