Hirsh and Patton are good pitchers. Hirsh seems more like a bullpen guy eventually, but Patton is similar to Mark Buerhle. I think other teams could give us more, but its not bad. However, I want a major leaguer or two.

Chavez would be good, but he is the face of the A's.

I posted a while back that I thought he would be a good 4th outfielder if the Angels released him. Give him a one year deal, can't hurt. Better than Timo, Willie, Borch and Willie and Timo are gonna be non-tendered anyways.

Again, Kenny says Baj and Tracey are leaders, but that is just in case he doesn't sign anybody. However, both of them at the end of a bullpen might not be so bad because both can go pitch a lot of innings and have very good stuff, more so for Tracey.

I think that Kenny is getting better players into the team, but I worry a little about chemistry, but hell winning builds chemistry.

i looked at Rangerfans.com (the Texas message board) and nothing said about it. You would think it would be all over there if true, so probably a BS rumor.

I love this deal, but why would Texas trade a top prospect, Blalock and Wilkerson for only one guarenteed year of Garland and an injury-suspect Crede. Makes no sense for them, but where do I sign up if true?

I don't think the A's would trade one of their best offensive players who in this market is relatively cheap and he justed re-upped with them last year.

Kenny is one of the best GM's at thinking ahead. He plans his team for three seasons in the future. He has some guys that FA that he is looking at for relivers and some non-tender guys. The core of the bullpen: Jenks, Cotts, Politte and Hermy are there. We need three more, two righties and a lefty. Who knows maybe Baj is one of them?
