  1. This SoxPride thing was a pretty good deal. I'm listening to the game on the Braves radio right now. The price is well worth it. I'll really only need it for April and September, when I don't have CSN.
  2. Leverage. Didn't see this coming, but we've got one of the best luxuries in the bigs right now. Who knows if anyone gets traded now, because we all didn't know this was coming. However, if anyone would to be traded now, their value's increased with the length of their contracts and prices.
  3. QUOTE(RME JICO @ Apr 1, 2006 -> 11:36 AM) Wasn't he supposed to be an Offensive Nirvana for the A's? Yes, particularly in Spring Training.
  4. That's good to hear. I'm liking all the early reports on Sampson. He's doing a great job reaching out to fans, the community, etc. He's trying to bring the former players and alumni back into the IU family, after being absent for the last 6 years. These are all great improvements from recent times.
  5. I'm glad Gooch ended up back in the 2 spot.
  6. 48's now false.
  7. QUOTE(chaerulez @ Mar 31, 2006 -> 10:50 PM) Oh man, when she "interviews" someone I can't stand it. She asks the stupidest, softball questions that go nowhere. Don't tell that to Bobby Knight.
  8. QUOTE(Felix @ Mar 31, 2006 -> 04:54 PM) I sort of stopped caring when Minnesota lost But yes, for those that don't know, South Carolina knocked off Michigan 76-64 last night to win their second consecutive NIT championship. The Dynasty! Hov!

  11. I will no longer be on Chicago time during the baseball season, and I'm not even moving.
  12. After a nice storm this morning, it's absolutely perfect outside. I love it.
  13. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Mar 30, 2006 -> 11:22 PM) VH1 (I can't relate at all to MTV anymore) Water or Propel? Water. Morning or nighj?
  14. QUOTE(Cuck the Fubs @ Mar 30, 2006 -> 11:11 PM) That's such bulls***. Players seem to wear them for better compresion. Also, in a lot of areans, hockey rinks are underneath the court, so, it can be cold. Having such things are useful. Players got a long just fine the previous 60 years in the NBA without resorting to tights.

  16. Good thing if you ask me.

  18. Also, it was interesting to hear him personally address DJ in his speech. That's got to be a good sign. However, I'm not confident about Vaden. He didn't even come out and sit with the team. It's not what you want to see, but fall out is/was expected to happen, when a coaching change occurs. Sampson was a very personable, charismatic, and funny guy in his speech. He's going to have no problem making people quickly forget the previous regime. I'm counting the days down until Midnight Madness.
  19. "I came to Indiana for one reason: I think we can win championships." Very excited now. Greenspan and Herbert stressed that Indiana wants to maintain and build on its tradition of being an elite program, and that involves playing by the rules and graduating student athletes. One of the first questions Sampson was asked was about the problems at OU. He did a good job answering those. He mentioned how the NCAA allowes you to call a player once a week, and they went lax on that and went too far. He acknowledges that they made the mistake. He's glad it happened, because it made them clean and right what they were doing and it won't be happening again. Also, the graduation rate was acknowledged. The NCAA's graduation rate is measured at random times during 6-year periods, and they pick a particular class. If no freshman came in during that class, you would have 0% graduation rate 4 years later. That happened because of their JUCO players etc, and Sampson stressed that it's not necessary to recruit JUCO's at a school like Indiana. He also made note of Indiana's hot bed of high school hoops, and he does not plan on allowing those students to leave the state. "Every coach sees it as a great basketball state with tremendous coaches and players, and we will do our best to keep those players in the state."
  20. Just got mine through Amazon!
  21. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Mar 29, 2006 -> 01:41 PM) Rick was my pick for the IU job if he was healthy. Tremendous Xs and Os guy and an incredible recruiter. I'll never understand how he got guys to go play in Utah Health is probably the only thing that prevented him from being put into consideration. He's a great coach, but his health is such a question mark/liability that it's got to scare potential suitors.
  22. Not sure. I figure all the local news stations in Indiana will have it on. They all had Davis' resignation on. However, I just checked my e-mail and got an invite to check this out in person. Definitely going to be there.
