  1. QUOTE (greasywheels121 @ Apr 10, 2008 -> 03:04 PM) Yeah, they nailed the point on Simmons. I still like him, but not nearly as much as I used to. Everything he does seems so self-serving and as the post noted, out of touch from the Joe Schmo fan anymore. yeah, from what I've read and heard he came from money, so it was always a little bit of an act. When Carolla was still on love line he talked about him referring to him as something like "I guess a friend because I don't have any better word to describe our relationship" and said how he got an expensive sports car when he was a teenager and how Adam couldn't relate to that. It's kind of funny when he talks about scraping by in Boston, etc... who knows, that's all hearsay.
  2. just got done reading it before I came here, excellent read. I especially agree with the Simmons part, I use to be a fan, now his stuff is repetative and boring. I've never liked Reilly's stuff, so I probably wouldn't be the most fair judge! If you get a chance, listen to Dan Patrick's new show. He's affiliated with si.com, but he seems more free than he was on espn. I believe he cited that one of the reason's he left espn was he felt too many conflicts existed at espn, and this week on his show he said he probably should have left earlier. http://www.firejoemorgan.com/2008/04/most-stuff-sucks.html that's a link to firejoemorgan.com and their take on the article, good read as well. I just completely miss the boat on the new breed of sports coverage, like ATH, Mariotti, etc. It's just these pompus a-holes ripping on people.
  3. not suprised, the weather is horrible, cold/windy/rainy, you feel worse when you go out in it
  4. QUOTE (CanOfCorn @ Apr 10, 2008 -> 11:43 AM) Howard Stern...is he still relevant? If you look at the number of subscribers that have come to Sirius since his announcement and the total failure of all his former terestrial radio sataion, yes he is very relevant. Simple things too, like very specific things he has on his show will shoot up search engine hot lists, songs mentioned out of the blue will jump on i-tunes, etc...
  5. QUOTE (mreye @ Apr 9, 2008 -> 01:14 PM) I'll be in the upper level of the bullpen bar wearing the Hebert Perry jersey. Yes, you heard right. I said, "Herbert Perry jersey." There's a good chance I'll have a beer in my hand. Or two. Sweet, I still rock my Kelly Wunsch game worn jersey to games
