  1. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Apr 15, 2008 -> 12:52 PM) But, one would like to get a straight answer from Ozzie I would love to see other teams scouting reports on him from the Spring. The non-devious theory would be he still has a swing that would get exposed if he was an everyday hitter
  2. Strands runner at 1st, 2 fly outs end the inning, J Danks with 40 pitches through 3
  3. and Danks walks the 9th place hitter on 5 pitches... 1 out, runner on 1st
  4. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Apr 15, 2008 -> 12:39 PM) Relax, Toby Hall will be batting shortly. Toby is approaching the body type Tony Gwynn had in his last few years playing
  5. http://www.sportsline.com/mlb/gamecenter/l...0080415_OAK@CHW Alexi's gamecenter picture is epic http://www.sportsline.com/mlb/players/playerpage/1507970 (to his player page)
  6. Brown seemingly trying to stretch a single into a double, Alexi guns him out
  7. QUOTE (Controlled Chaos @ Apr 15, 2008 -> 01:13 PM) Farmer made both of them sound like good line drives, but TIFWIW. lol, yeah, I've posted about this before, but Farmers flyball calls are always an adventure
  8. gamecast said Swisher "lined" out and O-Cab got a single, were they good contact?
  9. That ump was bad in that game. It usually annoys me when Hawk drones on about the umps, but it was a legitimate gripe in this game
  10. blah, that game had 2007 written all over it, the offense had no interest in that game after the Thome fiasco
  11. QUOTE (CubKilla @ Apr 11, 2008 -> 10:53 AM) I remember the "Rainbow Room" broadcast. Radio Gold. The other one I remember with Fred is when Howard went through the martians briefcase. Fred found out and went ballistic on the air and threatened, again, to walk out. Fred also got super pissed when Howard talked about him changing his name, I don't remember any huge blow-up just Fred being annoyed
  12. http://www.weather.com/outlook/events/mlb/...?eventid=242173 the weather.com report for the game, looks a little oogy, but only 30% chance of rain, so looks like they'll get it in
  13. QUOTE (3E8 @ Apr 10, 2008 -> 09:14 PM) Yeah Artie referenced some similar incident with Fred but I'm not familiar with it there's been a couple of Fred instances, Howard use to know exactly what to do to push his buttons. One of the big ones is when Jackie was still on the show, Fred his wife and Jackie and Nancy went out to The Rainbow Room to celebrate Jackie's anniversary. Jackie and Nancy got up to dance and when they came back Fred was gone and his wife was there alone upset and told them they got into a huge fight. So on the radio Jackie and Fred don't say a word, but some listener who was there called up and it set Fred off, Howard kept the listener on and eventually Fred challenged the guy to come down to the studio for a fight, I believe he briefly walked off the show. There's been a few other similar incidents with Fred, but I think that was the biggest.
  14. QUOTE (Texsox @ Apr 11, 2008 -> 06:51 AM) When I hear all these millions of listeners bought the service because of Stern, I wonder if it's like saying millions of customers joined Time-Warner cable for the Ace of Cakes. If their offering is really that poor that Stern is the only, or even the majority of the reason to take that service, then I can see why both systems needed to merge. I can't believe their business plan was, here's Howard and some stuff around it. Talk about narrow casting. I initially went over for Howard, but I rarely listen to local radio, I love the commercial free music. Listening to it right now at my desk. Also, the comedy station (Raw Dog) is great. I love the service. When/if Howard retires in 2 and a half years I will keep it. I think a new technology, someone may know when it started but I think around 2000, that has something like 14 millions subscribers combined is pretty impressive.
  15. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 10, 2008 -> 09:12 PM) I can't figure out what it is, but Pam just seems to have lost a lot of her hotness. Rent "Walk The Line: The Dewey Cox Story" that should reignite that flame
  16. QUOTE (jasonxctf @ Apr 10, 2008 -> 04:06 PM) im hoping to catch him on the replay tonight on my drive home (or listen on youtube) where its already posted. interesting fact about stern... its estimated that he specifically brought 4-5 million ppl to sirius alone. cut it down the middle to 4.5 million people each paying $12.95/mo= approx $700 million a year in revenue (+ ad revenue) for Sirius. if you're a fan of the show it's definitely worth going out of your way to listen to. It kind of put Howard and Sirius in a little bind, this is the second time he's lashed out physically at a co-worker, if it happens a 3rd time I imagine there would be lawyers willing to try and go after Howard and Sirius if something physical actually occurs. I know he has a ton of money, etc., but it's sad to see someone who has so much going for them seemingly so unhappy and willing to throw it all away. We'll see, they're on vacation next week, so I have a feeling he'll be back. If he leaves I hope they fill the chair, hopefully with Greg Fitsimmons (sp?). Carolla would be my dream team, but I don't think Sirius could give him enough $$
