  1. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Mar 17, 2008 -> 10:03 PM) USC-KSU (I love watching Beasley play and USC is an athletic fun team to watch as well (Plus Mayo when on is pretty amazing). that's mine, that should be a freak show between those two
  2. QUOTE(DrunkBomber @ Mar 18, 2008 -> 04:10 PM) I used to go to Lifetime and as someone else said that place is incredible. I would love to keep going there but there isnt one by me so I go to the Elmhurst Park District which has a nice facility and its right down the street from my house. My main concern is a nice sized section of free weights The X-Sport in Lombard is good, nice section of free weights. It looks like they're opening one up on 83 and North, might want to look into that
  3. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Mar 18, 2008 -> 04:06 PM) http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/stats/sort...checkBoxTotal=0 They are 15th in OBP, which doesn't sound great at first, but at least after the horror fest of last year they're not repeating it in ST
  4. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Mar 18, 2008 -> 01:06 PM) If he looked at his career numbers and was offered that contract, you're right, he's the fool for not signing it before the Phillies change their minds. just for clarification I heard those numbers from one of the ESPN baseball experts (I think it was Gammons or Olney) on Mike and Mike
  5. QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ Mar 18, 2008 -> 12:40 PM) Think Kyle Lohse is really high on Scott Boras right now? I think he passed up a 3/30m with the Phils and ended up signing a 1/3.5m with the Cards. That's a lot of guaranteed money he passed on. He ultimately made the decision though
  6. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 17, 2008 -> 03:47 PM) I like all the doubles and triples the team is hitting this spring. they're just playing a hell of a lot better from what I can tell this year. Last year in ST it was just a disaster
  7. QUOTE(Felix @ Mar 17, 2008 -> 02:29 PM) He's 21, so I don't know why he'd be kicked out for his age. Of course, I know nothing about that club. ah, i guess it wouldn't be his age then! lol, just been in the spotlight so long as a teen I guess I just never bothered to look.... then I'll rephrase my question... what was he doing to get kicked out?
  8. I booked a trip to Ireland today, so I thought that was fitting! Anyone going out tonight? I went to a party on Saturday, lots of fun, i was designated driver so I only had 3/4 glass of Smithicks when I got there and diet coke for the rest of the night.
  9. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Mar 17, 2008 -> 01:25 PM) March 15th is considered the Ides of March. It doesnt mean much of anything, except that it is the middle of march and that I'm your vehicle!
  10. if BA is the 4th OF, IMO, he can back up all 3 spots. How many ABs do you see him getting?
  11. WNBA should be a #1. I like that and "people who say they can't find work" as my darkhorses
  12. QUOTE(Jimbo's Drinker @ Mar 16, 2008 -> 11:58 PM) Moon was a great choice. We sat next to Shaun White's table. He was kicked out and dragged out by the bouncers. was it his age or was he acting up?
  13. I read this on a site (possibly aintitcoolnews.com?) when the new Hulk movie was first talked about, so take it with a grain of salt. I believe that the new movie will be more "comic book." That is to say maybe have a little humor mixed in and not as dramatic as the first one.
  14. QUOTE(Controlled Chaos @ Mar 13, 2008 -> 03:30 PM) I don't know...I was under the impression that if Owens is the leadoff guy, Swisher would probably be 6th....which I'm not too crazy about. I like Swish leading off. I have no problem with it. He'll have some RBI's missed, but he'll have a lot more AB's. He's just the kinda of guy I want getting that extra AB in a game when we're tied or down. If he bats 6th he loses approx 90AB's from the leadoff spot. Right, and his decreased RBIs could be made up by Thome, PK and Dye having more runners on base than if say Owens doesn't commit to increasing his OBP
  15. QUOTE(CanOfCorn @ Mar 13, 2008 -> 01:13 PM) We didn't have a 10th, we had a class of '89 turns 30 reunion. I realized there are two types of people...those who look EXACTLY the same and those that look COMPLETELY different. Plus, most of the people that went, still hung out with the same people from high school, not that there is anything wrong with that, but why would you go to the reunion if you are going to hang out with the people you always hang out with? And my 20th is next year. Ugh. Yeah, that probably makes a difference. I don't hang out with anyone I went to HS with. No bad feelings at all, just through undergrad and grad school, I lost touch. So for me it was great to see people I had been wondering about.
  16. I went to my 10th HS last year, a quick last minute decision. Glad I went, saw a lot of people I wanted to see and had a really good time
  17. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Mar 13, 2008 -> 08:56 AM) I think BA has played himself into CF and I like Ozzie comments about OBP. That's great to see
  18. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Mar 12, 2008 -> 03:15 PM) It wasn't his fault he was placed out of position. Mack was a great addition to the ballclub. Because of the lack of depth in certain areas, he was forced to play a position he should have never been in. You can't fault him for that. I agree. I felt bad for Mack (well, as bad as I could for someone making his $!!!). Seriously though, he did not belong in CF and never complained and did what he was asked to do.
  19. this is actually the first time I've noticed Javy in ST... how has he looked so far in his other starts?
  20. QUOTE(Melissa1334 @ Mar 12, 2008 -> 11:03 AM) i agree. sure BA might be the better player, etc but then we become really right handed and dont have a legit leadoff/speed guy. i dont think we should get rid of BA though, if we're going to get garbage in return. if we're out of the race in july, trade dye. who's the lead-off guy then? I know Owens has a ton of speed, but his OBP last year was bad. I would feel comfortable with him this Spring if I hear that he is doing a better job taking pitches and getting on base. Having a guy who is going to create a ton of outs from the leadoff spot does this team no good.
  21. http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/03/11/mis...mary/index.html this is the latest count, according to CNN. Interesting that Obama ended up getting more of the delegates in TX with the caucus being finalized. His number is starting to get high enough where even if Clinton dominates in PA she will basically only be tied with him. Is PA a proportion state or winner take all? What do all of you think would happen if it's neck and neck, or Obama has a slight lead heading into the convention and the superdelegates give it to Clinton? Do you see protests or worse?
  22. QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ Mar 11, 2008 -> 04:18 PM) I pointed out in the Anderson thread that is the best option in my mind to compete this year. I like Anderson's all-around game much better then Owens and even Quintin at this time. OK, let me rephrase this, I agree that BA is a no-brainer choice for CF at that point, I mean have the Sox discussed this at all publicly. I know you can't go off of what happens in ST, but BA was playing LF while Swisher was in CF. That was a head scratcher for me, even if it is ST
  23. If Anderson continues on this roll and makes the team, do they put Swisher in LF and Anderson in CF? Would that be their best defensive option at that point?
