There was one near Brookfield Zoo. It was tremendous. It was more of set up scenes and such. it was something called Elysium, or along those lines. The old building they ran it out of was being torn down so they stopped running it. At the end they had a great effect of a semi crashing through the wall. Lines would be like 2-3 hours on weekends. Since that one, I don't like going anymore

Predict where A-Rod will be playing in 2008

QUOTE(CanOfCorn @ Oct 24, 2007 -> 10:03 AM) In this order: NY Yankees Boston Red Sox Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, California, United States, North America, Western Hemisphere, Earth Chicago Cubs Agree with that list. Cubs will depend on their ownership, IMO if they get it sold quickly and owner wants to make a splash, they jump up to the top. However, if it drags on, I think they might have problems adding a contract like that on. -

Boras should basically know what he can and cannot get if he opts out and NY is out of it. I have a feeling that he'll sign back with NYY on the last day before he can opt out (10 days after the WS i think). If he does opt out I think the Angels will sign him. -
QUOTE(MHizzle85 @ Oct 22, 2007 -> 03:37 PM) On top of that, reports are that Silva broke Franklin's nose again. Vera/Sylvia was a boring fight, I'm not sure if they could get it sanctioned but i'd really think about having a grand prix type tourney for the heavyweight title. Only because I really don't see anyone as a serious contender. from my understanding it would be difficult to do multiple fights in one night in the U.S. One of the MMA orgs hooked up with Showtime is trying a one-night tournament, but it is really short rounds and limited to two. But I agree, Heavyweight is a mess right now. They could do a 4 man tourny by having opening round on a card than 2-3 months later have the finals. I would throw Big Nog, Kongo, Sylvia (he's boring, but IMO deserves to be in it) and Gonzaga. If you expanded to 8 I would add AA, Cro Cop, Vera and Heath Herring (I know I'm probably missing someone extremely obvious, but this is just off the top of my head)

Devaluing the World Seires Championship
SoxFan562004 replied to Marky Mark's topic in The Diamond Club
A few times this year I've heard national outlets mention the 4 complete games from the ALCS. I think that will be the legacy of the 05 team. It's unavoidable to bring that stretch up if they're trying to point to pitching performances by a team during the playoffs. -
Anderson Silva destroyed Rich Franklin tonight. He was toying with him at points of the fight, including a sequence where he bob-and-weaved a Franklin combo. He is exciting to watch at this point. He doesn't have much out there left to fight right now, hopefully Henderson will drop back to 185, that would be one hell of a fight. (They could grab Filho from WEC, but I believe they're training partners and won't fight). For name value they could make an attempt at Frank Shamrock, but at this point Silva would roll him, and Shamrock is pretty hooked up with the org he's with. Matt Lindland is also a possibility, but I think he and UFC don't have the greatest relationship. They also announced they signed Brock Lesnar, that will be interesting. He's only had one MMA fight, but the guy is a freak. If they build him slow he could be one hell of a fighter. Tim Sylvia won, he was just too big for Vera.

QUOTE(longshot7 @ Oct 19, 2007 -> 04:15 PM) this seems really unlikely. I don't think Kobe is moving. The Lakers are in a bad position with him. He can opt out of his contract soon (I believe after 08-09) so unless some serious bridge mending is done they will likely have to move him this year or in the offseason so they don't get him nothing
-
well this is too bad. Coture and Fedor is a fight I was really looking forward to, now UFC looks like they will have the ability to drag Randy into a legal fight for a long time that, even if he wins, he will be 45+.
-
Sounds interesting. I would go if I had the chance

Levine on AM 1000 was just taking the Cubs fans to task for booing the team yesterday. He was saying they needed their support and what a great year Aramis and the like has had and they shouldn't boo because they had a bad stretch.... hysterical

QUOTE(South Side Fireworks Man @ Oct 6, 2007 -> 09:33 PM) LOL! I heard one of the Score's resident [/color]geniuses talk about how the only team that could afford to lose game one lost it so it's no big deal. I believe it was Bernstein

Thank GOD Lou saved Zambrano for Sunday! the Simulated Cubs will be lucky to have a fresh pitcher tomorrow

Marion Jones, what a lady :rolleyes

QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Oct 5, 2007 -> 08:53 AM) Would that sport be cycling? maybe! I just find it odd that someone can absolutely and utterly own a sport that is usually on the cutting edge of PED and be 100% clean -
QUOTE(Brian @ Oct 5, 2007 -> 08:09 AM) Anyone think that with the way Arizona hit Lilly, a lefty, he should start Marquis in Game 3? I was thinking the same, but I haven't seen what their season splits are. Hill and Marquis, I believe, haven't been stellar the last month or so. I do see why Lou went with the 3 man rotation, I just think he should have went with Zambrano a little longer. That's another odd thing, Lou has talked about Sundays game like it is a given it is being played. http://www.suntimes.com/sports/telander/58...-rick05.article that's Telander's article from the Sun-Times, and it just sums up the odd attitude of a lot of writers. Maybe I was watching a different Cubs team than everyone else, but I saw a team that struggled a lot against quality competition this year

i don't think I'm going out on a limb by saying we're going to see a lot of similar stories in the next year or so. I think the next big one might be a guy who dominated a notoriously dirty sport and the media for the most part has given him a free pass. -
QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Oct 5, 2007 -> 07:31 AM) i dont know if i am the only one that noticed this, but i have noticed a very big population of Cubs fans who just expected the World Series for the Cubs as soon as they made the playoffs yeah, I noticed that too. It was the same attitude a lot of Cubs fans had throughout 2004. After '03 and signing of Maddux they just expected to get a free pass to the playoffs. Other than pandering to the Cubs fans for ratings/reader purposes, I didn't understand people in the media thinking the Cubs were better than the D'Backs. The D'Backs had a better record in a much tougher division.

don't the Cubs usually get killed by LHP?
-
Webb and Zambrano were excellent tonight, I can't believe Lou pulled him that early, you can't save him for a game that might never be played
-
second one had Clinton 61% and Guliani (I made an attempt) 58% I'm an extremely moderate person, and these quizes usually pan that out
-
Romney and The former mayor of NY (i'm lazy, not going to look his sp up!!) at 35 each

I'm really looking forward to this. It should be interesting because in the past the Office has used pretty close to "real time" for their breaks. Meaning, I would expect them to be however many months down the line from the season finale of 3

QUOTE(MHizzle85 @ Sep 24, 2007 -> 12:08 PM) So the question is do you give the Silva fight to Jardine? or do you give it to Forrest Griffin? Better yet, who's the next guy to face Rampage? Either should make up a great matchup with Silva. I would give it to Jardine and give Forrest a match against Machida. Rampage broke his hand I believe and will be out until '08, so they have a little time.

Eric Chavez hit the concourse, or at least it endedup bouncing on it. It was off Parque I believe. My friend and I were at the game, getting ready to leave, he was walking out of the bathroom and the ball comes bouncing up, it was quite a blast

The fact that Jeter is a gold glover makes that award borderline irrelevant to me

QUOTE(MHizzle85 @ Sep 21, 2007 -> 03:49 PM) Iceman should win easily, who he faces next is the question. I also hope to see Rua dominate Forrest, mainly because I don't care for him. well, they're billing Wand Silva for the December card, I guess if Chuck rips through Keith he would be able to fight him that night.
