  1. Saying he talked to a white sox official and said it's not true (levine said this)
  2. Yeah, but he'll kick around for a few years earning good money, just look at Russell Braynon (sp?) as an example
  3. You have to take all reports with a grain of salt, and Levine has gone through his dry spells as much as anyone, but he's been really good this off-season... and to defend Gammons (can't believe I wrote that) even he said something along the lines of not believing the reports, even though he was hearing them too...
  4. Good post man... I think that people fall in love with fantasy stats and skew their vision of baseball lineups (And before I get any nasty replies, I fall victim to this too). Look at the Cubs lineup... they lead or were near the lead in major categories, except when push came to shove they could not generate a run and lost a lot of 3-2, 2-1 and other close games... KW's model is the 2003 Marlins, whether he can achieve that or not is open for debate, but I think that's what he is shooting for...
  5. Levine is saying the Vazquez deal is not happening, will be on at 10:20
  6. yeah, that's not a bad name to throw out there, left handed, and of course he would come CHEAP!!!
  7. s***, I thought it was spelled d-o-u-c-h-e b-a-g
  8. Maybe he just figured Offman is wrong so much that even he wouldn't know how to correctly spell his name
  9. great, now he can be traded to three teams within the last year, and fail in 4 places!!!!! However, Crede and Choi can have a "longest, loopiest swing contest" But good pick-up... I totally agree that he can be a part of this!
  10. yeah, I guess I could live with that... I would like to see who's non-tendered as well, could be an interesting name or two out there come monday.... thing that worries me is that if Garland moves we have the 5th starter debacle all over again
  11. I know reports are just reports, but there seems to be 3 sources saying the White Sox are the fourth team and saying the same names (although it is supposed to be 2 out of 3, not all 3)..... three reports being Rosenthal, Offman, and a few from ESPN including Gammons
  12. Hopefully KW has a line on who's being non-tendered on Monday and sees some bats that can help
  13. I like Javy, but what do you think the Sox should do to improve their offense if Paulie leaves?
  14. ESPN radio is saying it will be two out of the three...
  15. Yeah, but will 6-8m be enough to get all of this done?
  16. If I was Borchard and his agent I would be calling the Cowboys to see if they're interested in another former college quarterback turned failed minor leaguer
  17. I get as frustrated with Paulie as anybody... he is a streaky hitter (last year he broke out of that somewhat), and he seems to be way to hard on himself, which I believe puts him in prolonged slumps.... but if he moves the Sox have to add another 20-30 homer bat.... Paulie hit 27 of his homeruns at the Cell last year... Sox need something else for this offense...
  18. yeah, Gammons is probably hesitant to agree with it because he took a look at the Sox line-up if this deal goes down...
  19. Mike Mulligan (the host) agrees what the Sox are doing, basically saying if you're going to try and play this style of ball you have to go for it....
  20. I voted "dump" but wouldn't have after the initial move. What is swaying me is the new Vazquez trade talk because it looks like at least another 2m is coming off the books. So Sox will have lost 8m in payroll since the Lee trade, and now what are they going to spend it on? They need to get more offense, but Delgado will be more than that, and I imagine Cabrera will be just about that...
  21. Sorry, didn't run through all six pages, but it seems like if KW does this trade it will be for two out of the three players mentioned (Konerko, Marte, and Vazquez)... but if Konerko goes KW HAS to get more offense, especially since he's saving at least an extra 2 million dollars in this deal......
  22. yeah, but if there's six teams in it, one of the other teams will pay him more...
  23. ok, this is where I was going with the idea of "overpaying," now the Sox will have to "overpay" to get Perez, there's not going to be some magical pitcher at the end of it all who all the other teams forgot about and the Sox can sign for their price. You have to want someone and be willing to take a gamble...
  24. I really hope KW's plan is to lay back and not do any interviews for awhile. I just don't want to hear it from him... I don't want to hear how he likes the team we have, how we'll just save this money for june/july, etc... I'm so tired of his rap. For someone who flies under the radar he does an awful lot of interviews....
  25. ok, I'll say it, even though I'm tired of hearing it because he chose to be the public face of the ball club and it's an excuse that doesn't work for me.... "JR doesn't make money, he's not the owner, he has to go to the other investors..." Well then something needs to change soon!!
