my man, my attitude is in the same place right now.... I am going to do all I can avoid to hear KW's comments about this... "we thought we had him, it didn't work out, but you know what? I'm really pleased with the team we have right now, I think we will suprise some people" :puke
-
yeah, and the Yankees, Angles, or the Red Sox will gobble him up with taking bad contracts or giving money
-
yeah, probably a very skewed result for this poll, considering the Clement ordeal, but I'm just in the mindset the Sox aren't adding anything
-
Not doubting the original poster at all, because I'm sure he did hear it, but FWIW ESPN local just had an update and said "nothing new on the Sosa trade front" (just adding to the thread...) also, WSCR, who plays sportingnews radio overnight, said nothing about it....
-
Right, but someone has to pick up Sosa's money and it won't be AZ... so the Yankees would have to foot the bill so the Cubs actually free up money...
-
Makes sense to me, it's been made clear that the Cubs can't do anything close to major without moving Sosa... Only thing that would make me question it is the Yankees are obviously going to go after Beltran, so why would they want to add another bidder to the fray? Was this on an update, did they cite a source, how was it talked about?
-
Not sure if Bruce mentioned this in his appearance, but in an earlier update they said Sox are trying to lock up AROW with a similar deal to Uribe's, but no decision either way has been made... with Clement, I think the longer it goes the worst it is for the White Sox because likely means money is getting pushed up
-
espn.com's main page has a link to a story that chronicles the issues with this trade
-
ah missed it... if there's another opening let me know, I'll do it
-
yeah, I can see that... actually afraid that KW holds off on other moves until this is resolved... which could be costly
-
Good point... but I think ultimately he will end up with the Yankees
-
With a story like this I could see it happening... ESPN goes off of one legitimate paper source and it just swirls. I just think losing Beltre, Green, Penny all in one day would be a huge blow by just getting Vazquez and 2 minor leaguers. I think the Dodgers would have to guarntee they're signing Beltran, Delgado or a bat of that ilk...
-
We'll see, it looks like the report of this deal may have been very premature... so it may drag on and on, and KW may want to stick around to see if he can be a part of it for Vazquez or something. But I agree with your general theory that this RJ thing needs to be OVER, either way, so KW can move on
-
two things that are somewhat promising 1. The numbers are lower than what I've been hearing 2. It's called the Sox "initial" offer, not final
-
ESPN.com main page saying this deal isn't done... One snag seems to be Green not wanting to leave LA I remember when he signed there it was important for him to be around a large Jewish community... not sure what the Jewish community in AZ is like, so this could be the reason
-
another thread is saying Levine heard tonight that Sox are "high" on the list and KW himself saying he was talking to his agent half the day on Saturday or Sunday
-
Do you think KW tries to resign Sox players under the radar? Like use call-id block or just show up at their door-step one day.....
-
yeah, but if it's true that this deal hinged on LA re-signing Beltre (kind of makes sense, because now you're losing Green and Beltre for a team that didn't score a ton of runs) it would be hard for Big Stein to make this particular deal worth... he would have to hand deliver Beltran to them somehow (via a ton of $$$$)
-
I voted....FOR BOSTON, FOR BOSTON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Man oh man, if Clement signs with the Sox or atleast is in the final running tomorrow the Score looks absolutely horrible this off-season... looking at this as a Sox fan Clements agents may be saying this to keep Angels and Red Sox offers up or get another year...
-
:puke :headshake :banghead yeah that roughly sums up my feelings now!!! On a sidenote this is a double edged conversation for me because I am a Dodgers fan too.... If this falls through and I'm AZ management talk to RJ and say "This week is it, we are going to go out and try and get the best deal we can, bring it back to you and see if you want to go to that team... if this doesn't happen you're pitching here this season and we will see where we are at at mid-season"
-
Thanks!! Wow, those are better than I thought...
-
Just out of curiosity what's MB's and Freddy's? (man, if the sox didn't lock him up there would be zero chance of him coming back for '05)
-
Why should I be excited about Odalis?

Yeah, this is my last break before I have to study for the Bar Exam and get a real job, so I'm going to enjoy it!!! -
Hey, I'll be labeled as a complainer too, and if KW suprises me I will eat crow and praise him.... but I'm a huge "proof is in the pudding" type guy and I want to see something positive before I stop!!!!!
