  1. Hey, a fluke play for us in Oakland! We've been overdue for one.
  2. Somewhere A's fans are flipping over tables screaming "but the projected run matrix had us scoring 1.5120 runs!!!!"
  3. QUOTE(rangercal @ Apr 10, 2007 -> 10:28 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Dude, I'm just going by the bottom line, quit bringing all these "what ifs" into the equation. Um, those are his numbers and it was in response to Dick Allen's posts. Spearking of "what if's"........... QUOTE(rangercal @ Apr 10, 2007 -> 10:28 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> hitter A .183 /8 RBI hitter B .300 ( RBI produiction never mentioned) That's all this debate is about. who would you rather have? That's it. If everyone misunderstood me, I apologize.
  4. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 10, 2007 -> 10:09 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I hope it wasn't Ozzie's call to send Pods in that situation. I'd like to see Pods be more aggressive before there gets to be 2 outs in the inning. I just looked at the numbers, and coming into this game Thome had a 1.417 OPS against RHP. That SB was idiotic.
  5. Thome has a 1.000+ OPS against RHP. Guadin historically has problems with LH batters over RH batters. So far tonight he has struck out every RH in their at-bat so we take the lefty's bat out to have him face another righty. Aside from the throw beating Pods and nearly getting him thrown out, that stolen base hurt us.
  6. I hope taking the bat out of Thome's hand for a pointless SB doesn't come back to hurt the Sox. Crede looked hopeless last time up there.
  7. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Apr 10, 2007 -> 09:52 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The bum A-Rod has 6 homers and 15 RBI already. How many guys don't want him on the White Sox? Funny how people would take Crede over A-Rod supposedly over clutchness yet the day A-Rod hits a walk-off Grandslam, Crede pops up with the bases loaded in the 8th.
  8. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Apr 10, 2007 -> 09:49 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ever heard of productive outs? Young must have a few or he just gets hits when there are runners on base. Driving in runs is an art. Most guys hitting .182 would strike out or pop up to second with a runner on third. I think the fact that he still is driving in runs while not hitting very well is a good sign. He's not going to hit below .200 much longer. Or how about the fact he bats .077 with the bases empty (13 at-bats) and have a .949 OPS with runners on (13 at-bats) ?
  9. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Apr 10, 2007 -> 09:44 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> What joke? I just thought it was funny that somebody said the exact same thing two nights in a row. That's not defined as a joke. Why are people saying "is 'pitcher X' this year's sweaty Freddy?"
  10. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Apr 10, 2007 -> 09:33 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> haha. somebody said the exact same thing about Jose last night in the 2nd or 3rd inning. ...and I still don't get the joke.
  11. I thought he had it too just by the flub fan-like reaction to a lofty flyball by the A's fans.
  12. I was going to buy mlb.tv, but they block out six teams in my market. This is bulls***. I might have to switch to a dish, or move out of Iowa. Second option sounds better honestly.
  13. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Apr 10, 2007 -> 01:10 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I really wish Cleveland would start losing. Did anyone really think the fake Johan Santana would actually pitch well outside of Angels Stadium this time? It was pretty neat to see slider do the Bernie the Brewer routine of going down the slide after the home team's homer.
  14. I'm thinking about getting one down the road, but when should I get serious about it? I'm looking for opportunities in the manufacturing industry.
  15. QUOTE(Benchwarmerjim @ Apr 10, 2007 -> 03:52 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Im not saying he was Johan-like, but pitched better than the 8 runs he gave up Good to hear. I don't want him pull from the rotation just yet.
  16. How do we know the divorce isn't deserved? What if Jose was cheating on her? Would you still feel bad for him? /Devil's Advocate.
  17. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2007 @ Apr 9, 2007 -> 10:37 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Has a fanbase ever made the HR appear to be as evil as Sox fans do? And it's so nice to see Pods playing well. Not just the fans, our manager said we hit "too many" home runs last year. Well it looks like the Sox are in good shape. I pitched Harden in my league where we count losses and benched Contreras on my other team. I'll see the final in the morning.
  18. QUOTE(zenryan @ Apr 9, 2007 -> 10:29 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> whens the last time this team didnt score a run by the HR? I was waiting for this post. Who gives a rat ass? It's a guaranteed run. There were two outs in the inning against a tough pitcher. We don't have time/outs to try and drop bunts, steal, and move runners over.
  19. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 9, 2007 -> 09:16 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'll be shocked if Thome puts a ball in play vs Harden. Thome entered the game with an OPS over 1.000 against RHP this year.
  20. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 9, 2007 -> 09:39 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> What did you think of Danks yesterday? I was bouncing back and forth between three baseball games to entertain the guests so I didn't see too much. I missed Morneau's completely. From what I saw he looked pretty good.
  21. QUOTE(TheOcho @ Apr 9, 2007 -> 09:29 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Why must everyone boo Aj? They don't even know who he is. He pissed them off in the 2002 playoffs when he hit a 3-run homer off of Botch. When he crossed home plate he yelled "booyah!" If you watch the 2005 game 5 ALCS game where Crede has the go ahead hit, you can see AJ yell "booyah!" when he reaches second.
