  1. Grinderstad down to .156 f*** ESPN just mentioned something about Buehrle
  2. Would someone please explain to me how the blackouts work? Why is it ok for me to listen to any game I want, but here in Iowa, 300+ miles from Chicago, I can't watch the Twins, Royals, Brewers, Cubs, Cards and Sox games.
  3. QUOTE(Jimbo @ Apr 18, 2007 -> 01:27 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> believe in the power of jimbo!!!!i will get a win for you guys Maybe if you spelled our starter's name correctly.
  4. QUOTE(Jenksismyb**** @ Apr 18, 2007 -> 09:59 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> And why doesn't anyone talk about alcohol?? We know, for a fact, that hundreds and hundreds will die every year, solely because of alochol. Yet we don't have this crazy uproar about how we need to ban alcohol., I'm betting the number of handguns fired off each year/number of people killed each year by guns <<<<<<<
  5. QUOTE(Alpha Dog @ Apr 17, 2007 -> 09:43 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Who did NOT have a concealed carry permit. ...and like I said before, all it takes is one bad breakup with a girlfriend that possibly turns that fearful, responsible, gun owner into a suicidial and/or revenge hunting maniac.
  6. QUOTE(zenryan @ Apr 17, 2007 -> 09:14 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> f*** this team one year f***ing wonders ...and the dumbest post in the thread goes to *rips envelope* *blows* ZENRYAN!!!! Half the 2005 team is gone. BMac El Duque Marte Vizcaino Hermanson Politte Cotts Harris Everett Rowand Blum Widger Thomas Timo Shingo Borchard Gload
  7. Darin Erstad fun time! 44 PA's, 40 AB, 4 BB, 7 H, 8 K's, 12 times he has grounded to the right side making an out At the time of the signing I said "Anything under $1 million and I won't complain." Two things, he isn't making under $1 million ( yea! I called it!) and I assume he would be used as a role player. Shame on you OG and KW
  8. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Apr 17, 2007 -> 07:31 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> i hate the booing... why? he is an opposing player.
  9. QUOTE(Alpha Dog @ Apr 17, 2007 -> 05:06 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Again, you assume that everyone in the class or school is packing heat. Even in the most gun crazy of states, that would not be true. While the gun laws vary from state to state, not everyone can get a gun, and not everyone who has a gun can get a concealed carry permit. No, I am assuming that at least one asshole is packing heat, not every person. One asshole packing heat is more likely to cause deaths, than an asshole not carrying a weapon. That's why schools don't allow that kind of crap on campus property
  10. QUOTE(mreye @ Apr 17, 2007 -> 11:00 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The responsible person pulls out their gun, kills the shooter, calls 911 and walks out of the building. Edit: I know it's not this simple. I'm just trying to give these kids a fighting chance, damnit. They didn't have that yesterday. Oh give me a break. Why should students go to class expecting a gunman to come through? That's the only way they would have a"fighting chance." All it takes is for one bad breakup for a depressed, armed, kid who kills his ex and/or the new fling and/or his or herself. If college students are going to go to class armed, high school kids are going to feel the need for the protection (which I imagine HS is a LOT more dangerous than College.) I couldn't even imagine the number of deaths there would have been at my gang infested high school if the 18 year olds were allowed to bring their guns to school. Why stop there? I believe the other even Soxy couldn't remember happened in Scotland where some idiot ran into a Kindergarten gym class and killed a teacher and some kids. How about we just set up gun turrents in the hallway.
  11. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 17, 2007 -> 08:21 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> When has Michael Young NOT ever tore us a new one? Career OPS: Against Garland: .583 Against Buehrle: .533 Against Contreras: .404 Against Vazquez: .727 Career at USCF: .654 OPS So there you go.
  12. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Apr 16, 2007 -> 07:15 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> FYI, before he got the job, it was well known in his social circle that he knew nothing about sports epecially baseball, he just has a good radio voice. To top that off, hes a cubs fan. Rongey is a Cardinals fan.
  13. QUOTE(WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Apr 16, 2007 -> 11:53 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Remember when we had a losing record(or damn close to it) against the Tigers in 2003? Cost us the division. The Sox were 11-8 against the Tiger and finished 4 games out. To win the division the White Sox would've need to go 16-3 against the Tigers. They were bad that year, but nobody beat them 16 times (although the Twins beat them 15 times.) I'm more concerned with the teams in front of us.
  14. Guns suck. How come we just can't trust guns to only the hands of government officials, local police, and our armed services? I'm sure criminals would still find ways to get guns, so make SEVERE penalities for possessing and/or selling them. What does the second amendment really mean? It was written when the British was invading our country. We have been attacked at Pearl Harbor and on 9/11, and armed citizens couldn't stop that. Are there any other uses for a gun besides to hurt or kill? However I believe it's a complete fantasy to rid the US of guns, but I am against current gun control laws because they take the guns out of the hands of the good people who are worried about their safety.
  15. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Apr 16, 2007 -> 04:51 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Wow, what did I make up? Thome has been coming on ok of late. His RBI opps havent been many, but he hasnt capitalized on too many of them He almost has as many RBI's as at-bats. He has been on base more than half the times he came to the plate.
  16. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Apr 16, 2007 -> 12:23 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Thome has been coming on ok of late. His RBI opps havent been many, but he hasnt capitalized on too many of them. Either way the middle needs to be more productive. ESPECIALLY Joe (0 xbh) Crede RISP: .400/.571/1.000/1.571 7 PA, 5 BA, 4 RBI's Quit making stuff up. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 16, 2007 -> 12:40 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> During his entire time with the Sox, I don't recall him doing any damage in the 9th inning or later in a game. That because pitchers are scared s***less to face him. It's like Sosa or Bonds in their juiced prime. Why would you give anything to Thome to hit in a close game?
  17. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 16, 2007 -> 11:52 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> When has he gotten a big hit late in a game this year? The only thing I can find is the run scoring single in Oakland. Remind me who had the only hit in yesterday's 9th inning. Is it Thome's fault he doesn't get anything to hit in the late inning especially with a base open? If you were a pitcher in a close game and a hitter like Thome came to bat, would you give him anything close to hit? Didn't think so.
  18. QUOTE(beautox @ Apr 16, 2007 -> 01:54 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> real bad, when he is away from the Big A, hes meat. I said this all offseason and people thought I was crazy. I'm also looking forward to Michael Young stinking up the joint this next series too. Michael Young 2007 watch: Home: .240/.296/.560 (27 PA's) Away: .160/.192/.160 (26 PA's) A difference of .504 in OPS.
  19. QUOTE(zenryan @ Apr 15, 2007 -> 01:12 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Jose is a f***ing joke. when he pitches against a team that cant hit then he dominates. against teams that can hit, he pitches scared He's allowed one hit and two unearned runs. Granted the walks suck, but with these defense today I don't trust putting the ball in play. Time for Joke Crede to be clutch.
  20. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 15, 2007 -> 12:24 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It was....it would have been a routine grounder to SS. Would you agree that he's hitting a soft .200? So wait, CC got in the way of a routine play and as a result they ruled it a hit?
  21. Was Darin's single to the pitcher a full swing?
  22. Just remember how many runs Crede saves with his glove. He doesn't need to put up average offensive numbers because of it.
  23. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Apr 14, 2007 -> 03:00 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Maybe your philosophy is to tank games at the end, but in my opinion you play each and every game to win. I don't mind you complaining about some of our draft picks and our scouting, but complaining that we won 90 games to me is , no we didnt get to the playoffs... but you never tank games. I agree. 90 "useless" victories? Go root for the f***ing cubs. This isn't the NBA or NFL where the top 10 picks make immediate impacts and there's nobody left after the first round. Give me success at the major league level over a higher pick. It's hilarious that flash whines for us to go after more overseas players and LATIN AMERICA, yet here he is complaining about our draft position. Those guys that he wants don't go through the drafting system, so why b**** about pick positions when the major league team doesn't go to the playoffs despite being one of the top teams in the league. Give it a rest already flash.

    Films

QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Apr 7, 2007 -> 03:37 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Tarantino was merely the executive producer of Hostel. Such a title within the film industry is the equivalent of someone with political influence hiring a relative to hold an easy job, yet, still receive a paycheck. I'm sure the filmmakers didn't mind as it allowed them to attach his name to the film. Far as Grindhouse, would you say Planet Terror was more enjoyable than Death Proof? A friend of mine told me earlier that Death Proof was an incredible letdown. Death proof sucked. The best trailer was "Don't" followed by Machete. I nearly lost it with "Don't go into the basement."
