  1. Exactly. It's so much harder to try and pull of examples of hitting coaches making "fixes" to players like pitching coaches do with adjusting mechanics. Mark De"steroid"sa's offensive improvement starting in texas is also skeptical with all the Texas ties to PED's.
  2. Told him to hit the other way. I don't want to be thrown in the "I hate Walker camp," but it's tough to compare hitting projects to pitching projects. It's stupid to through out peak careers as evidence that Walker is a successful hitting coach. The biggest contributor to the Sox's offensive numbers is USCF.
  3. Yes, it was Walker who forced Pods to bunt for hits, not Ozzie. He never had a season with the Sox that matched his rookie campaign. What did Walker tell him in 2006 and 2007? As you have shown from the numbers, Dye has had success in a pitcher's park in Oakland, and it's silly to use his injury plagued 2003 season as evidence that he was lost as a hitter. Why don't you talk about AJ's OPS? His three lowest season totals have come when he's with the Sox, and with the exception of 2007, AJ has benefited from USCF. Get back to me when Walker turns in a Mark DeRosa project.
  4. Pods was better in 2003 Jermaine - Not really. He wasn't a cast off with Oakland declining his huge $14 million option AJ? Give me a break. He's had better numbers before he came here.
  5. Based on Javy's Jistory, he would end up winning 16 games with this garbage team.
  6. Alright! We have another Loserbridge waiting in the wings down in A ball.
  7. Aside from Flowers, how are the other guys from the Javy trade doing?
  8. I'm frustrated. What excuses do you have for Floyd, Brent and Fields?
  9. 3.10 ERA, 1.12 WHIP. That's what Gavin will have to do over the next 168 innings to match his numbers from his fluke season last year.
  10. Everyone on this board says it's a great deal. Why wouldn't The Nats or Pirates take a chance considering how hard it is to get Free agents to sign with them?
  11. Buying high on one season. Nice work. Can't send him to the minors without clearing waivers either. Coop will fix 'em!!!
  12. Anderson was hurt, but after he was sent down to AAA. Tubby Hall was hurt in ST but didn't bother to opt for surgery costing the Sox $3 million over the next two years for the most worthless backup catcher of all time.
  13. could people quit blaming that 2007 garbage team on injuries? Crede was an injury risk showing signs from September 2006 batting in the low .100's. Erstad was always a crippled piece of s***. Pods was always injury prone too. The 2007 team was built depending too much on Danks, Floyd and some others at the bottom of the rotation. A bad, young, fireball throwing bullpen, and Erstad playing in an everyday role.
  14. The problem is KW put himself in a position for financial relief by paying a premium price. Is it really a good idea to sell a possesion of yours due to buyer's remorse? The spin job on Marquez when he was acquired was a joke.
  15. Wait, I thought Swisher's contract was a deal for such a young player who put up a 120 OPS+ in a pitcher's park. The fact is we could've receieved a lot more for Swisher and would've still benefited if he was still on the team.
  16. The Sox just don't deal with Boras, PERIOD. They've already released their first Boras signing in forever, Ben Broussard, and that was just a minor league deal. The Sox and other teams wouldn't sign Porcello for what, $12 million? The Sox have a hard enough time trying to give out $50 million to their established players.
  17. You're not the only one. It's been going on for a decade. I see "Michael Jordon" every now and then too. :
  18. I just hope if he gets in his last name is spelled correctly on his plaque.
  19. January 14th, 2005: April 26th, 2005: January 11th, 2008: May 20th, 2008: December 3rd, 2008:
  20. More like if Sandy Alomar Jr. blew out his knees.
  21. at Jim Hendry for continually dumpster diving for this guy.
  22. I'll pass. Bobby putting up a 2 something ERA > the magic beans KW would end up for him
  23. That's Davis' 48th K in 100 at-bats. Christ I hope they find a way for him to get 550 at-bats.
  24. I was just looking at the HBP leader board when Quentin got hit. How does it happen so often? Is he getting drilled?
