QUOTE(GASHWOUND @ Feb 10, 2005 -> 10:44 PM) Has any columnist or radio guy in Chicago picked us for anything? Also I don't think it's a far reach that he picked the Cubs..they're pretty good <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Does any columnist in Chicago admit that the White Sox even exsist? -

Finally! -
Road Stats: Zito: 4.76 ERA, 1.57 WHIP Harden: 4.96 ERA, 1.48 WHIP I'm not even going to bother with the young guns. Buehrle: 2.63 ERA, 1.07 WHIP Garcia (w/Sox): 3.25 ERA, 1.04 WHIP There's no way you can say the A's staff is better than ours. Sorry.

QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Feb 10, 2005 -> 09:47 PM) Might Toronto, if I looked into it more, I probably would not. But I might argue with Oakland. Is Buehrle-Garcia-Duque > Zito-Harden-Blanton/Meyer/Cruz? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Which rotation gives you a better chance of winning 5 games in a row? Buehrle/Garcia/Hernandez/Contreras/Garland or Zito/Harden/Haren/Blayton?Cruz (actually Oakland doesn't have their rotation set.) I'll take ours.
-
OH Come on! Oakland or Toronto over us? :headshake Buehrle+Garcia >Halladay+Batista
-
Cheat, the Twins have Joe "Cy" Mays as their 5th starter. Career ERA+ of 102, thanks in part to a fluke 2001.

QUOTE(qwerty @ Feb 10, 2005 -> 07:47 PM) It's this easy. Wrigley is a hitters park comerica not so much. A monkey could say that and most likely be correcy. This is an odd year and he will probally be great whereever he pitches for some reason. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> and he won't be protecting as many leads. (Can't believe I'm saying that about the Cubs.)
-
QUOTE(qwerty @ Feb 10, 2005 -> 07:12 PM) I agree. How do you not have a five era with these numbers? 1.43 whip, .310 average, .342 obp, .462 slg, and .801 ops. Those are some pretty damn s***ty numbers <{POST_SNAPBACK}> He's also dead last in K/9. I'd like to see how Silva would do with half of his games at USCF.

He mentioned Garcia and Buehrle pitching 200 innings each, but he didn't explain much about it. 2004 IP with the rotations used. 1. Boston: 870.2 2. NYY: 951 3. Twins: 844.2 4. Indians: 882.1 5. Angels: 878.2 6. Blue Jays: 743 7. A's: 686.1 8. Sox 927.1 9. Texas: 560 10. Tigers: 847.1 11. Orioles:719 12. Mariners: 758.2 13. Royals: 629.1 14. D-Rays: 530.2

QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Feb 10, 2005 -> 05:12 PM) Dude, what more could you possibly ask from Brad Radke? You know what you're getting. No skepticism. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> How about winning more than 15 games in a season as a #2 starter? He has only done it once before in his career.
-
QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Feb 10, 2005 -> 04:53 PM) ...and Santo, all things considered, you can't possible say the White Sox have a better rotation than the Red Sox. Is that what you're implying or am I reading it wrong? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'm not, but they have just as many, or more serious question marks as we do. But I would say they have more talent to be a better rotation.
-
QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Feb 10, 2005 -> 04:49 PM) Of couse they do. No need of mentioning. However, how could they have "more" question marks than the Sox? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> A Yankee forum had a story from Baseball Prospectus saying that Wade Miller won't be availble until midseason. Matt Clement is making the NL to AL transition, and Wells and Schilling are both old (Schilling had ankle surgery too.)

Contreras was better as a starter in 2003, and what about Garland as a fifth starter?
-
Wite, Bonderman second half road stats: 53.2 IP, 4.02 ERA, 1.17 WHIP. Not too bad. Of course he dominated the Devil Rays twice in September, so if he eliminate those starts for the hell of it, it comes down to 37.2 IP, 5.26 ERA, 1.27 WHIP. These pitchers are all a product of Comerica Park, and can't beat quality teams on the road. That's why I don't see the Tigers as a threat next year. Percival has lost velocity, his K/9 rate is WAY down, and his OBP was above .300 for the first time since 2000. He'll love Comerica Park like the rest of the Tigers' pitchers.
-
It's been 6 months since the Roberto Alomar trade, who are we giving up?
-
QUOTE(Jabroni @ Feb 9, 2005 -> 09:27 PM) Yep, and Jeff Farnworth was actually with the Tigers before he went to the Nationals. Maybe the Tigers like The Farns Brothers? The PTBNL from the Cubs will most likely be David Kelton. He isn't likely to make the opening day roster and he is already out of options. If he doesn't make the 25-man roster he becomes a free agent anyways. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I thought a PTBNL can't be on the 40 man roster?

2004 Tigers Pitching Staff. Road Stats: Maroth: 5-10 5.26 ERA 1.52 WHIP Bonderman: 7-7 4.76 ERA 1.26 WHIP Robertson: 6-3 4.58 ERA 1.36 WHIP Johnson: 4-5 4.14 ERA 1.32 WHIP Knotts: 2-4 5.25 ERA 1.64 WHIP Walker: 4.55 ERA 1.48 WHIP Ledezma: 3.95 ERA 1.35 WHIP Urbina: 5.33 ERA 1.50 WHIP Patterson: 5.00 ERA 1.28 WHIP

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Feb 9, 2005 -> 04:04 PM) Wow, really? While I don't expect the PTBNL to be much, this is Hendry (IMHO) second s***ty deal regarding a relief pitcher in two years. The first mistake was getting s*** for Juan Cruz, who will now be a reliable arm with the Oakland Athletics, as well as (perhaps) a chance to spot start every now and then. And now this -- jack squat for Farnsy. Unfortunate, though, that Farnsy has to be in our division now, just incase he does realize his vast potential... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> He also traded a PTBNL for Stephen f***ing Randolph, and it costed him two pitching prospects in the rule 5 draft.
-
Cubs are also giving up a PTBNL.
-
I'm sure he'll still remain with the Network. He does boxing for them too.
-
I was hoping to do a "Gallagher" one, but it's hard to see with his back turned.

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Feb 8, 2005 -> 08:18 PM) Because Dallas is wearing dark alternate uni's. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Why the hell should a home team wear dark? Did the Bulls ever wear the black jerseys at home?
-
QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Feb 8, 2005 -> 07:41 PM) Yeah I was hoping to come back from Jury Duty and be amused... I'll get something going later tonight <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I take it you didn't care for my entry.

Bulls are wearing white jerseys at Dallas.
