Ordonez signing a colossal mistake

QUOTE(aboz56 @ Feb 13, 2005 -> 03:30 PM) I wouldn't, JD Drew has more talent and looks to have put his injury plagued past behind him. He is also younger. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> and he's left handed and draws a ton of walks. -

QUOTE(qwerty @ Feb 13, 2005 -> 02:33 PM) Last thing from rotoworld about levine is this. Is it somewhere else that i have missed? Zimmerman is also not signed yet? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Do I have to do this again? http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?...&type=printable As for Zimmerman, I missed the MLB's decision to reject the minor league deal. -

QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Feb 13, 2005 -> 02:15 PM) The options thing again. Ok help me out. I think that means he can refuse an assignment & become a FA. For the Sox to assign him to a ml team he must first pass waivers. Is that about right? As for it clearing room for a MIF there aren't many left. The truth is that Iggy has played more G as SS in his career than Uribe or any one who would play better than him. I've been reading some more stuff on Iggy from fans of the Hawks (the best place to get the real deal) & they were entertaining the idea of his playing SS in 03 for the Hawks to get rid of a weaker bat in their lineup. So the fans of the team still felt he could play an adequate SS as late as 03. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/wire?section=mlb&id=1989606 Some have retired, but there are still good names available: LHP: Omar Daal, Valerio Santos, Darren Oliver RHP: Curtis Leskanic, Ramiro Mendoza, Alan Levine, Jeff Zimmerman, Pat Hentgen, Mike Fetters, Shane Reynolds, Scott Service, Todd Van Poppel, Brian Boehringer, Andy Ashby, Robb Nen 2B: Mark McLemore, Rey Sanchez 1B/DH: John Olerud, Carlos Baerga SS: Barry Larkin Some of them no doubt will accept arbitration but there are still a lot of names available to pick up an arm better than Adkins for the pen. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Levine signed with the Giants, Mendoza is supposedly close to signing with the Yanks, Zimmerman won't pitch until after the All-Star break and has already signed with the Rangers, and I believe Rey Sanchez signed with the Yankees as well. Just leave Adkins in the pen and maybe he can have another "lucky" first half. -
At the winter meetings, manager Ozzie Guillen said he was hoping that Garland would "go from third starter, fourth starter to fifth starter.'' Someone asked if Garland might thrive with less pressure on him. Guillen practically laughed. "No,'' he blurted out. "I just want better pitchers.''

QUOTE(He_Gawn @ Feb 12, 2005 -> 01:46 PM) Does anyone else think of Daniel Negreanu whenever they show interviews of Coach Weber? ----- I see no resemblence? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I was talking about how he asks himself a question, and then he starts yelling and rambling on and on about it. Oh, and it's formerly, not formally. -

My dad is sitting in the 4th row on the floor courtesy of Ron Zook while I'm stuck at my apt watching this. Does anyone else think of Daniel Negreanu whenever they show interviews of Coach Weber? -

QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Feb 12, 2005 -> 11:34 AM) Sox have no All Stars though because of being snubbed. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Each team has a representative. I'm surprised you don't have Garland as the AL's starting pitcher. -

QUOTE(SuperSteve @ Feb 12, 2005 -> 02:16 AM) Um, I don't go to UI...I go to Michigan State, so I don't know the area well. Try any mall, they all have a hat store. My favroite is the 1983 ones, I wear the one with red and just the word Sox everywhere. If you can get to a mall, your set. I'd PM AsshatSoxFan, WhiteSoxFan99, IshMookie, and Orange Krush if you need to find out where a mall is by UI. They can help ya as they seem to be firmilar. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Don't forget about me! Lids at the mall is an okay place to go, but see if someone else you know needs a hat because they usually have some 2 for $25 deal. -
Do you work for TNA Krush?

Add two more teams to the AL, and I wouldn't mind seeing franchises in Las Vegas, Portland, New Jersey, or somewhere in the Mid-South. -

Pierzynski hits 20+ homers, the starting rotation will combine for 1,000 IP, and since Borchard won't make the team, Garcia will be the team leader in strikeouts. -
Philly is a launching pad, but what about the AL to NL conversion?

Shingo only had one bad month (August.) He was lights out in September 1.54 ERA, 1.11 WHIP, 11:4 K/BB.

QUOTE(qwerty @ Feb 11, 2005 -> 12:49 AM) His career era is near four and he has pitched in one of the very best pitcher parks in baseball. That is why i personally do not consider him an ace. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> How about his numbers with the Sox? (especially on the Road and during the day)

QUOTE(flippedoutpunk @ Feb 10, 2005 -> 11:46 PM) So am i the only guy that thinks he looks like Dhalsim from Street Fighter?? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Good one! I also saw Curious George in him. HAHA Reggie! "NO RING FOR YOU!!!" :finger -
QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Feb 10, 2005 -> 11:45 PM) I'd like to see one more consistently good year out of Garcia before I give him ace status. I know Buehrle is our ace, and I like having Freddy on the staff -- I just want to be sure that he's the guy we can rely on, and Buehrle can carry us. Let's face it, folks. This isn't a revolutionary statement that I'm going to make, but we'll go as far as our starting staff takes us. Like I said, nothing revolutionary, but just wanted to put it out there, nonetheless. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> What do you want for him to be considered an ace?
