QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Feb 3, 2005 -> 02:32 PM) Am I the only one who visited this thread thinking "another Rodney King incident?" To the author of the thread, you can not consume alcoholic beverages until your 21st birthday. If you do not like the law then lobby lawmakers to change it. But keep in mind you will face a very uphill battle as MADD & other groups will lobby hard against you. I realize you might be too self-absorbed in your own desires to bother to consider the big picture but the fact is the police are there to stop underage drinking primarily because underage drinkers have a right to drive as early as age 15. And if you don't think underage drinkers are involved in DUI related incidents, injuries, & deaths guess again. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Do you have any problems with underage drinkers who aren't driving or have a desiginated driver?

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Feb 3, 2005 -> 12:30 PM) Obviously, that is his dream and priority. To someone else, working in a lesser role or capacity, but staying with the Sox, the team you love, might be more important. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> He's still a Sox fan, jeez. :rolly

QUOTE(Melissa1334 @ Feb 3, 2005 -> 12:19 PM) how can he just leave us like that? the d-rays? c'mon! :banghead i bet u its because the money, just like with maggs. i really liked dave. maybe hes sick of the sox underachieving? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> He's going from pre-game and post-game studio host to a f***ing radio play-by-play man. Wouldn't you do the same if you were in a position to achieve one of your dreams?

QUOTE(shagar69 @ Feb 3, 2005 -> 01:11 AM) i was at a bar tonite, talkin to this chick, and the f***in cops have to show up. they caught like 6 people underage drinking, pretty much forcing anybody who wasnt 21 to leave. WTF is that. I mean cmon, its a wed. night. Leave us the f*** alone. f*** THA POLICE! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You should be thankful you didn't get a ticket. :headshake

I voted for the third option just because of the question and the fact that it's "You're" not "your." :headshake

QUOTE(qwerty @ Feb 2, 2005 -> 05:56 PM) Indians bullpen? No it doesn't. They did have a rough first half but they were very good in the second half. half. If we also went by career era their bullpen would definitely be better. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Rhodes is f***ing horrible. Wickman is old, and is returning from an injury. Howry was impressive after returning from an injury. Riske isn't bad but can be extremley inconsistent leading to some of the most atrocious outings since Mitch Williams. Bettancourt isn't that bad, but he's considered to be one of their best relievers. Miller is pretty good, and I wouldn't mind having him on our team. I don't see anything that special about their bullpen.
-
QUOTE(qwerty @ Feb 2, 2005 -> 05:30 PM) Bartosh will not even make their pen next year because it is so deep with very solid relievers. They also have shuey. No way our bullpen is better. We have marte, shingo, and maybe hermanson who we can rely on. They have several guys who can go out there and you don't have a heart attack with. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Vizcaino? Their bullpen sucks, plain and simple.

QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Feb 2, 2005 -> 05:08 PM) You can deny it if you want, but when you look at his WHIP for both half's & his ERA what other conclusion can you drawn? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Adkins pitched himslef into less trouble. Cotts needs better control. Like I said, once Adkins started pitching well Ozzie was marching him out there every night. Don't forget that in September Politte went on the DL, Jackson was released, and Ozzie didn't have much faith in Diaz which led to both of them getting a lot more innings. I remember Hawk talking about it on a broadcast; Personally, I wouldn't mind seeing them both in the bullpen for 2005.
-
QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Feb 2, 2005 -> 04:56 PM) Adkins has a better era because he was lucky in the first 1/2. It all went to pot for him in the 2nd. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> :headshake And that's where the conversation ends. That's something I expect to hear from a Cubs fan, not a Sox fan.

QUOTE(winodj @ Feb 2, 2005 -> 04:09 PM) What are you trying to do? Are you trying to mix live voice down? Best way to do that is sing to the backbeat. Otherwise, if you're remixing prerecorded voice and prerecorded music, you gotta beat match. That's something best done with your ear. Otherwise, use Acid. The program. Although the drug might help too. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'm just trying to combine to mp3's together, and I have on idea what I'm doing. :banghead

QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Feb 2, 2005 -> 04:16 PM) How can you say that? Opponents hit 313 vs Adkins in the 2nd half!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They only hit 252 vs Cotts. If it was close like say 283 vs 252 I would give Adkins the nod, but 313? That's a recipe for losing. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It's hard to hit Cotts considering he can't get it over the plate. :rolly Cotts (ERA by Month): April: .90 May: 7.00 June: 8.68 July: 9.45 August: 2.30 September: 7.98 That's terrible :headshake Adkins (ERA by Month): April: 4.05 May: 2.25 June: 1.69 July: 5.23 August: 4.96 September: 7.94 Guillen was really absuing Adkins in August and September, which led to some horrific outings. Cotts (WHIP by Month): April: 1.00 May: 1.67 June: 1.61 July: 1.20 (Cotts allowed 8 baserunners and 7 scored.) August: 1.21 September: 1.64 Adkins (WHIP by Month): April: 1.80 May: 1.33 June: 1.31 July: 1.65 August: 1.41 September: 1.76 I give Adkins the slight edge, but because Neal is a lefty I would give him the last slot in the bullpen (assuming we only carry 11 pitchers.)

QUOTE(captain video @ Feb 2, 2005 -> 04:06 PM) Brewers having trouble signing Sheets.......that's music to my ears. I hope KW is watching that one with a close eye. I'd offer any combination of BMac, Garland, Contreras, Diaz, Anderson, Lopez, Borchard...........Crede/Ben Davis/wewillie! This is the guy I have wanted for a long time -- a "strikeout" pitcher who can dominate! Sheets -- Garcia -- Buehrle -- El Duque -- Cotts/Hermanson/whoever else KW can get cheap! If both Contreras and Garland are included with a few prospects -- the money we save can go to Sheets in a long term deal. Maybe it makes sense for the Brewers -- we all know they can ill afford "one" player eating up 25-35% of their payroll. IMHO this would be a reason for Jerry to increase the payroll! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Contreras and Garland? Please no more 5th starter bulls***.

It's usually brought up once a month, but a new article on the Sox website features the Sox pitching. :puke http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb...s_cws&fext=.jsp Can't wait to see our staff this year!

Adkins was better than Cotts last season. Just look at their ERA's by month. It's too bad Adkins isn't a lefty.

QUOTE(winodj @ Feb 2, 2005 -> 01:19 PM) Cool Edit offers a multi track mixing atmosphere. It's adequate, but it is relatively cheap. Sony also has Cool Edit. Digidesign has a high end product called Pro-Tools. It is the premiere program on the market. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I just got the Cool Edit program, so how would I go about adding the lyrics of one song to a different beat of another song?

Why don't you just store these stats in a word document or something?

QUOTE(qwerty @ Feb 2, 2005 -> 03:43 AM) Hermanson was very solid in the bullpen unil the last day of the yea when he asploded. Also, koch still sucks. 1.60 Whip. Wtf, that is just disgusting. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Not only that, he got f***ing bailed out by Armando Benitez. I remember McKeon pulling him out of a game in the middle of a count. Armando came in and cleaned up Billy Boy's mess without allowing any runs to score.

QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Feb 2, 2005 -> 12:25 AM) Does anyone think Uribe and Rowand are gonna hit better than they did last year? I know I don't. -- I know I don't expect the indians offense to be any better either. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I do. Rowand didnt start hitting until June, and Juan Uribe played in only 134 games. -

QUOTE(YoungstownIndians @ Feb 1, 2005 -> 07:08 PM) Okay I am referring to your Bullpen #1. See we had a ERA at the break of nearly 5. You had about the same all Year. We brought ours down from the Break to seasons end. I am here to talk baseball. And I Like talkin with sox fans. All seem stubborn and are way to bias IMHO. And I am one Indians Fan. Your baseball moderators was nice and welcomed me and you guys like try to kill me. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Since we're talking about splits before and after the all-star break, what did CC's and Cliff Lee's ERA's look like after the break? Didn't Belliard hit .250 in the second half? You had some breakout seasons from guys like Belliard (actually just one half,) Hafner and Martinez, yet you assholes still couldn't finish above .500. What makes you think this year will be any different? -
QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Feb 2, 2005 -> 12:33 AM) what was? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> 1999: 105.3 IP, 2.22 ERA, .94 WHIP, 123 K's. 2001: 81 IP, 2.33 ERA, .975 WHIP, 42/45 SV/SVO I would take either of those years over his 2000 season. I would also take K-Rod's season last year over both of those years, and Damaso Marte had a great 2003 as well.

Wow, to think every other team in the MLB had a prospect make the list except for us!! oh wait.... Who gives a s***? (especially considering the source)

QUOTE(whitesox91403 @ Feb 1, 2005 -> 09:18 PM) It turned out to be a very bad trade, yes. No doubt about it. But, I don't question him doing the trade. Who knew Sax was going to bomb. I still, to this day, don't think that George Bell for Sosa was a bad deal. Long term, of course it was. But for what The Sox needed at that time, it turned out well. The Cubs got a prospect who panned out, it happens all the time. See Jason Varitek from Seattle's system to Boston for Heathcliff Slocumb. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Sammy Sosa was not considered a prospect at the time of the trade.

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Feb 1, 2005 -> 08:22 PM) Relentless? Not quite the word I'd use, but as they say, whatever floats your boat... I find nothing wrong with what the stat uses to judge players. Maybe you don't like it because it makes Foulke out to be an awesome reliever, making the Koch/Foulke trade look even worse? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I thought it was ridiculous because 2000 was not Keith Foulke's best season. Put the tin foil away.
