  1. Soxy...he's gonna pay, either now or later! If he donated the money to charity, I'd bet that somewhere down the line, she's gonna want diamond(s)! (They are a "girl's best friend", ya know?!). He might as well do it now, and get it over with. I also think he should let her pick out the ring she likes, that will definitely prevent potential problems down the road.
  2. Dude...my wife and I got married by an Elvis impersonator at the Viva Las Vegas Wedding Chapel, in Las Vegas, NV. (Actually, we first got married by a Rabbi, but there were problems...he told us to get a Marriage License in Cook County, knowing we were getting married in Lake County, 2 weeks later, we get a letter from the State of Illinois telling us our marriage was invalid. (I laughed, she cried!).) That's why we went to Vegas. I'd say the Vegas thing is the way to go...that way you can combine the bachelor/bachelorette party, wedding and honeymoon in one big trip!

    adoption

Probably the best part of my job (for me anyway) is when people come through the lines at O'Hare with babies they have adopted, mostly from China. We have to process them for temp Green Cards and citizen certificates. Everything you've heard about Chinese adoptions is true; baby girls are "thrown away" in China. Subsequently, in 5 1/2 years at O'Hare, I have seen maybe two Chinese baby boys being adopted. That being said, the little girls are gorgeous! (I have actually discussed adopting a Chinese baby with my wife, but with a 9-week old boy, that's the last thing she wants to discuss right now.) We also see several Russian and/or Ukrainian babies being adopted; it is my understanding that babies from these countries have a lot more medical problems than those from China. Also, we hear a lot about "scams" in which a couple thinks they are going to Russia to pick up their child, only to be told that they have to take a different one, they can't take the baby unless they also take the 12-year old step-brother, etc. I have also heard that , from beginning to end, the cost to adopt a baby from and Eastern European country will run about $50,000.00. I hope I didn't discourage you, that is not my intention. In fact, I think that if you want a child(ren) you should definitely go for it. If you have any questions, email me ([email protected]).
  6. You are 100% correct. These "people" are wild f***ing animals...they need to be euthanized a.s.a.p.
  7. My brother just came back from AZ, saw the SOx play the As in Oakland's park...beers were $6.50 for a 12 oz cup!
  8. Spend as much (if not more than) as you can afford; you're either gonna pay now or later, ya might as well get it over with!
  9. Don't expect concessions to be cheaper than at a major league ballpark...beers are at least $5.00 apiece at TEB.
  10. Remember, Kobe's accuser could be the "town pump", she may have been with all of Colorado; it doesn't matter. If she said "no" to Kobe, she was raped!
  11. Did anyone consider the families of his victims? How do you think they would have felt knowing that the person who murderered their family members is (was) allowed to function in society? Maybe by lying about his past, he denied a position to someone else who could have been an excellant professor and NOT have been a murderer.
  12. She shouldn't have had to testify at all to her past "transgressions".
  13. Look what the system did for Kobe's accuser...it made her look like a whore!
  14. It's not necessarily about that. What I'd like to see is if you are sent to prison for a felony, you live in a cell, period. No exercise time. No tv. No recreation time. 3 meals a day in the cell. No interaction with other inmates. If you want to act/live like a wild animal, you should be treated like one!
  15. The guy was still a murderer and a scumbag. He needs to pay his debt to society. It doesn't matter how great a teacher he may have been. BTW, he wasn't necessarily rehabilitated, he was lying for years.
  16. I think that the biggest problem in our society as it pertains to criminal justice is that we care too much about the "accused", and not enough about the victim(s) of crimes.
  17. I don't believe murderers can be rehabilitated!
  18. How am I wrong? If Mr. X kills somebody, and is executed, can he kill again? I don't think so!
  19. Maybe Iraq ain't worth helping! Maybe we should get the hell outa there, and let them kill each other. Maybe.
  20. I DO believe in the Death Penalty. Death is the ultimate deterrant!
  21. A lot of times, Tex, these "innocent" men aren't as innocent as it seems. For example, look at the Rodney King situation. He probably didn't need to be beaten to the extent that he was, but, subsequently, he has shown himself to be a "total scumbag".He is constantly in trouble with the law and has been arrested on several occasions. With very, very, very few exceptions, no 100% innocent people are imprisoned in the US.
