It's an internet message board, who cares what makes a good poster. This is supposed to be a place where you can come to relax and talk Sox, not become the best poster you can be.

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Aug 6, 2006 -> 01:13 AM) There is a reason Buehrle gets a lot more love than Vaz. Anyways, today was special but it's just a start. He needs to do this for at least 3-4 more starts befor I get overly excited about him. Unbelievable performance today though, no doubt. Yeah I know there's a reason, but it was still great to see. If he reverts to old Javier I would be shocked and highly disappointed. He is going to finish this season strong.
-
If Buehrle threw 8 innings of one run ball while striking out 13 there would have been a thread. Am I the only one who is an avid fan of Vazquez? If he can keep this up and stay pitching to his potential, we are going to be even more feared.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Aug 6, 2006 -> 01:04 AM) From what I've seen the Tigers are a superior team to the Sox when they are not facing off head to head. I seriously don't know what that even means but I'm not 100% sure the Sox are better than the Tigers this year, especially with the way the pitching is going this season. Fair enough. All I know is that if we face them in the playoffs we will win. On a side note, does anybody believe me now that Vazquez is going to be great in the stretch run?

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Aug 5, 2006 -> 08:59 AM) I hear Talladega Nights is awful. I thought it was decent. Had some good jokes, but I couldn't really get into the whole Nascar thing.
-
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Aug 6, 2006 -> 01:00 AM) Please don't speak for me. If you don't think we can beat the Tigers in a playoff series I'd be suprised.

Pudge is a jerk. I just got home and saw his walk-off and it mirrored Joe Carter after clinching the World Series. It was even a more dramatic trot than Scott Podsednik's after Game Two last year...and Scotty NEVER hits home runs. Why is there a Tigers fan trying to defend his team on here? It's a massively biased board and I don't care what you say about the Tigers, we all still know we are better than you. Don't stress out here dude, go enjoy your amazing regular season on a Tigers board.

Well today's round 2 of poker playing high stakes was a roller coaster. I ended up winning $100, making my grand total for the day up $202. It was unfortunate however because I lost a $340 pot between just me and another player when he was bluffing and trying to get me out but runner-runnered a straight. It was very disheartening, but that's poker.

I still prefer The Daily Show, but that's probably because it is on first and by the time Colbert comes on all his material is used up. Last night the Daily Show was hillarious in finding clips about Bush talking about food after he gained 5 lbs. I also love the reports and interviews with Jason Jennings.

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Aug 3, 2006 -> 05:56 PM) Not fishin bad. I thought I wad doing well winning 3 $25 pot tournaments in a row I've been playing for 3 years now and it's getting hard finding people to play with. There's only about 5 of us who still play, and 2 or 3 of us win most of the time. (3 years ago our poker group was about 20) Hopefully the few other people who keep losing don't realize it's happening to them because I really don't want to lose everyone I used to play with because then I'd resort to onine poker. It's hard to get reads and it is such a different game online. I love playing poker. We should get that soxtalk thing together again. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Aug 3, 2006 -> 06:06 PM) Haha I've recently been playing halo with some friends and i fishing blow...but that does not stop me from talking unbelievable amounts of spiff. Do you just enjoy saying fishing and spiff? Don't worry I suck at Halo too.

Won $102 playing $.25/$.50 blinds Texas Hold 'Em this afternoon, and going to try my luck at $1.00/$2.00 blinds tonight. Hopefully I keep playing well so my profits will quadruple.

QUOTE(AssHatSoxFan @ Aug 3, 2006 -> 10:06 AM) PUT MILK ON NOTICE! Oh audience member you don't know how hard it is to put something on notice.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Aug 1, 2006 -> 11:52 AM) It takes a long while. The other thing I'd do, just go into the apple store they are real friendly and helpful. Just tell them whats up and they will probably explain things. You may just have to reset the ipod and reinstall everything. Yeah but the problem with that is all the music (4,000 songs) that is on the i-pod currently is on my friends computer down in Indy. We'll see what happens.
-
QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jul 31, 2006 -> 12:40 PM) You should probably look in itunes and make sure its reading the ipod. From there you should just click around in your settings and see what the settings are if it auto updates the ipod based on your library or whatever. But you don't hit import library to get things on the ipod. Just look on your itunes and if your ipod is connected and synced in you should see the ipod (mine says Jason's Ipod) and than right click that and hit update. I've tried doing that, and it said that the I-Pod was being update in I-Tunes and the I-Pod itself said "Do no disconnect" but then the songs weren't loaded.
-
So a friend of mine just sold me his 20GB i-pod and I want to add my music onto it. I have been trying for hours and can't get it. I put all my music onto I-Tunes and it still won't import the library. Is there any way that I can import my library onto the I-Pod? Any help is greatly appreciated.

QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Jul 27, 2006 -> 08:23 PM) Fixed. To each his own. I'm sure hoping he can turn it around, but I don't think he'll ever be dominant for a long period of time anymore.
-
The bottom line is that Mark Buehrle is just not that good.
-
I learned my lesson last year and have been too busy to watch the games anyways. Tivo is a great thing, just fast forward through all the bad things..

QUOTE(bmags @ Jul 25, 2006 -> 04:09 PM) this thread was entirely neccessary. I liked it because I've been working all the time and don't have time to read a 60 page thread. As far as I knew, B-Mac was still the target of the Nationals.

2006 White Sox Catch-All Thread
whitesoxin' replied to greasywheels121's topic in 2006 Season in Review
The good news: I won a pair of tickets to a Tigers game in September under a Pepsi cap tonight. The bad news: This loss moved my record at the Cell this year to 1-5. -
QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jul 23, 2006 -> 03:39 PM) Wouldnt Javy Lopez be a bit of an overkill? Anyways Ill always appreciate Widger he was a lot of fun last season but like someone else said same story as Politte. We don't have many right handed bats on the bench let alone a good power guy.
-
Thank god. Now tomorrow my streak of 3 straight games attended having Widger catch is over.
-
All of you that are stressing over this loss should stop paying attention to the Sox for a few days. It really makes things a lot less stressful. For the last two games of the Detroit series, I Tivod the game so I could fast forward through all the bullspiff. Tonight I came home, saw Mench rounding the bases, and turned the tv off.
-
QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Jul 21, 2006 -> 10:27 PM) He's not, and neither is our pitching staff as a whole. We're going to need production from our minor league system within the immediate future. This rotation obviously can't continue performing through the life of their contracts. Wait, now people agree with me? Where are all the people who jumped all over me last time.
-
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 21, 2006 -> 10:23 PM) Just remember Buehrle was great for every inning except the 3rd today so everything is alright with him. Just ask Hawk.
