  1. My arm is killing me. I have to vote through the pain though. 9 minutes!!
  2. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Jul 6, 2006 -> 04:41 PM) If anyone knows any cheat methods of voting I'd abandon them the last 20 minutes or so. Just vote the regular way, and f*** whomever from the National League. Vote for AJ alone. Have you actually been voting for an NL player?? I sure haven't. WTF I'm going to be working the night of the All-Star game, yet I've wasted hours voting for AJ.
  3. QUOTE(Reddy @ Jul 6, 2006 -> 12:31 PM) i've voted more for AJ than i did for scotty already - been doing it since i woke up this morning at 11 we can do this! RIGHT BACK ATCHA!!! I need a break every 5 minutes for about 30 seconds so I come to this thread.
  4. Stop posting and start votingg!!!!
  5. I'm kind of pissed that MLB said AJ was winning. Now EVERYONE is going to be voting for Liriano. I was hoping for a 3-horse race so AJ haters would have their votes split. Give it all you got!!!!! We need hundreds of votes from EVERYONE on this site!!! Stop posting and vote! Seriously though, we should disable all the posting abilities and only let people vote. Can anybody do that?
  6. QUOTE(SoxFan76 @ Jul 6, 2006 -> 10:41 AM) The same kind of thing was done for Chris Capuano. But his was only a top 10. Therefore AJ is better. AJ is number 12.
  7. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Jul 3, 2006 -> 11:20 PM) She walked in front of me and my Dad and just stood there looking at her cellphone for something. I certainly didn't mind that my view was being obstructed. Nothing beats an attractive girl in Sox gear.
  8. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Jul 6, 2006 -> 12:09 AM) He'd need to throw about 107 innings of 3.62 ERA ball to give him 215 of 4.5 ERA ball on the season. Incidentally, Garland threw 101 innings of with a 3.65 ERA after the ASG last season. And that was the "bad" Jon Garland last year. How spoiled we were in the first half.
  9. QUOTE(My Dixie Normus @ Jul 5, 2006 -> 02:31 PM) What the hell was so impressive about thier June? Lose 2 of 3 to Boston. Lose 2 of 3 to CWS. Lose 1 of 3 to Tor. Then kick the livin day lights out of the NL. In May it was much the same story. Lose 2 of 3 to MIN. (not playing thier best ball at the time) Split w/Balt. (1 Rainout) Swept by the Yankees. When they play good teams, they lose. They are about to hit a patch where they are going to run into a string of good (or hot) teams. Don't forget the 3 of 4 they lost against NY at the end of May. I told my cousin before the end of May/early June, if the Tigers went above .500 in a 13 game stretch against CLE, NYY, BOS, and CHW then I would give them respect. They went 5-8, and if you throw out the Indians series, they were 3-7 in 10 games against arguably the other three teams in the top 4 of the AL and perhaps the MLB. I didn't even have to look up these numbers because it is still so clear in my mind. I still don't buy the Tigers being a great ballclub. They could win the division, but I don't see anything more than a first round exit in the playoffs.
  10. WTF Juan? Haven't you seen everybody walk? Have to score more here, Pods. 10th guy to bat.
  11. I would sure hope Oz starts Dye in his spot now. If Contreras doesn't start, there has to be at least one White Sox starting, wouldn't you think? Especially with our own manager behind the helm.
  12. QUOTE(robinventura23 @ Jul 5, 2006 -> 04:48 PM) Oh Carl.... The last out of a game when you are down by 8?? Calm down, Carl.
  13. I'm almost done with the book, and it has been very entertaining so far. I have learned a lot about the White Sox that I had never known because of my age. I would recommend it to all of you, as I posted a week or two ago in the White Sox catch-all thread.
  14. I was there last year when it was B-Mac, Willie, and Freddy Garcia. Suprisingly it wasn't too busy and I only waited in line for about 25 minutes. I'd imagine it will be a bit more crowded this year, however.
  15. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 3, 2006 -> 01:31 AM) Are you a Llama? It had more to do with the age of the clippers and my massive forehand strength. (insert joke here about how I gained my forearm strength)
  16. QUOTE(Felix @ Jul 4, 2006 -> 09:12 AM) You need to take into account how much people hate AJ. He won't be getting any votes outside of Sox fans, so its not nearly as easy as you seem to think. All the people that hate AJ are going to be voting for other guys. There are 4 of them that are probably going to be getting an even amount of votes. I think AJ has a legit shot. I've probably voted well over 100 times by now, I don't keep track, but keep pushing everybody!!
  17. There was really nothing to cheer about at tonight's game
  18. VAfan, do you honestly think the Tigers and Twins can continue their 14 of 15 and 18 of 19 winning paces? There is absolutely no way. We went 14-4 against the National League and suddenly the sky is falling? Our record in June was 19-8, that is a .704 winning percentage. If we kept that pace up all year, we would win 114 games. If you want to look at the 19-8 record as a glass half empty and tell me, well take out the 8 game winning streak and we were only 11-8, or a .579 winning percentage. If we played that way the rest of the year, in our final 81 games, we would win 47 more games and finish with 100 wins. Even if we go just .500 the rest of the year, we would have 94 wins, and in a League where the Wild Card is coming from a three horse race in two divisions, 94 wins might just be enough. Calm down, enjoy a season series victory over the Cubs, 6 (possibly 7) All-Stars, and a 6-game lead in the Wild Card.
  19. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 3, 2006 -> 01:14 AM) I'm not talking about power but I do think it can mess with a players swing for a while. You don't think pro players have mini home run derbys of their own during BP? Maybe they don't but I would imagine they do, especially the guys on the White Sox.
  20. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Jul 3, 2006 -> 01:09 AM) Gooch's play named the 6th best play of the half-year by SportSCenter(This included all sports). Rowand's play was 4th. I was suprised Matthew's was number 2. It was a great catch, but the 2nd best in all of sports after 6 months?
  21. What are the odds that I break THREE pairs of nail clippers in two weeks while clipping my nails? It had never happened before in my life.
  22. QUOTE(daa84 @ Jul 2, 2006 -> 08:29 PM) doubt it would happen, since KC just signed this guy to a 5 year deal, but here would be the cheaper alternative that i personally wouldn't mind seeing..... http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/profile?statsId=7232 Are you comparing David DeJesus to Andruw Jones? I don't think we need to worry about finding "cheaper alternatives" now because attendance isn't going down anytime soon. Jerry has always based the payroll on attendance, and with our output on the field and pitching signed for years to come, our payroll will only increase.
  23. QUOTE(Dam8610 @ Jul 3, 2006 -> 12:48 AM) I voted with the example email addy a number of times and now it won't let me even look at the ballot anymore. It's worked for me using the example e-mail Try making a new fake e-mail.
  24. I've put in 20 minutes of continuous voting without having to fill out the stuff everytime. I would say thats one hundred or so.
  25. Think about it this way...the votes are going to be split between 3 very worthy candidates in Hafner, Verlander, and Liriano. We have a legit shot.
