  1. Usually when a team scores 13 runs in the first five innings the night after scoring 20 on them, they will chill out a bit and not embarass the other team more than they already have. Shut up Cards.
  2. Would you guys rather have a staff of solid proven veterans like we have now or young studs with unreal potential?
  3. I never realized how many studly young pitchers there were in the MLB right now. There are a ton!
  4. I got Pujols, Burnett, and Clemens back all on the same day today in Soxtalk League 1!!!
  5. Tonight's game was great. The biggest things coming out of this seris are Freddy appears to be back and the offense can be unstopable at times.
  6. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 22, 2006 -> 03:51 PM) Wait, did that guy get 3 cards? PK? WTF just happened? AUSSIES MOVE ON! HAHA. DBAH0 REJOICE! Yeah what just happened? Why didn't the goal count?
  7. QUOTE(Controlled Chaos @ Jun 22, 2006 -> 03:45 PM) Not only not on a podium...he was off the record. Which just emphasizes my point. I heard that on the score this morning but couldn't confirm it because I started listening in the middle of the discussion.
  8. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 22, 2006 -> 03:39 PM) I'm not representing an entire organization like Ozzie. It's all about the context and stage in which you use the term. He wasn't on the podium after a game or anything. I just hate the press, they are blood-sucking creatures who just want to stir the pot. The press is to blame just as much as Ozzie is. He should have kept his words under control, but there was no need to provoke him.
  9. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 22, 2006 -> 03:35 PM) So you think there's no difference between a teenager throwing around words like that and a 42 year manager of a professional sports team using it to verbally attack a newspaper columnist in front of the media? I'm saying the "real world" is too politically correct. Don't say you've never called anybody a ***, because you have.
  10. *** is thrown around hundreds of times a day in schools around America, but when Ozzies says it he needs training courses.
  11. That's really not needed. We live in one hell of a PC world.
  12. QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Jun 22, 2006 -> 01:42 PM) Yeah, they got it from soxtalk. There are obvious similarities between Ozzie and Mike Ditka. You don't have to be a brain surgeon to put two and two together. Some random dude who brings up the topic on a message board is not innovating, by any means. So do you not think people in the press read soxtalk and WSI?
  13. The Cardinals can't be this bad. We're just hot right now and they are cold. I still think the Cards are the best team in the NL, and I'm still hoping for a Sox/Cards World Series.
  14. QUOTE(G&T @ Jun 22, 2006 -> 12:09 PM) Murph just brought up this topic on the Score...wonder where he got it from... I heard this too and started laughing because I had read the topic on Soxtalk hours before the Score mentioned it. I really don't think it was just a coincidence.
  15. I don't even like soccer and I'm super pissed. I can't imagine what true soccer fans are feeling.
  16. This reminds of Super Troopers "Would you move your GINORMUS cotton candy??" "Shut your pie hole!"
  17. Who cares what Ozzie said? This is really getting out of hand.
  18. This is almost as frustrating as the old corpse ball.
  19. So if the Tigers won the series last year and they were behind the White Sox by 1 game in the standings, do you think Oz should be the manager? I don't see a problem with the manager rule, it seems to be a reward for accomplishing great things last year.
  20. Has anybody here read Sox and the City? I bought it tonight.
  21. I bought Sox and the City tonight at Barnes and Noble. Has anybody here read it?
  22. I would love to see him play in the NFL. He grew up being a huge Sox fan a few miles away from me, so I don't see him playing for the Cubs for 5 years to get that money. With Brady Quinn as his QB, Jeff will have a monster year and be a first rounder no doubt, probably even top 10.
  23. QUOTE(Steff @ Jun 21, 2006 -> 12:08 PM) My point is do some research... you'll be shocked to see what many superstars have done and hasn't been reported. Much worse than DUI's (which is a stretch, IMO, for a "morals code violation"), yet it doesn't effect their performance on the field. If Sidney was drunk last night, you might have a case. Agree to disagree. You know him personally and I don't. All I've been exposed to is negative images and stories in the media. Does it make either of us right? Nobody knows. My only last comment on this Sidney issue is that I disagree with your comment that a DUI is not a morals code violation, because it potentially harms everyone who are innocent on the road..and it was only after his second infraction in 2005 that the Orioles released him. They gave him two strikes. I'm just more pissed at the fact that our team is being drilled constantly and then we can't retaliate without facing ejection and suspension. I think Riske was initiated last night. Also, hitting Duncan's son sent a "Don't mess with us" message to the pitching coach.
