  2. QUOTE(EvilMonkey @ Dec 3, 2005 -> 12:17 AM) I have often posted here about how I feel themedia is quick to point out the ® in politicians when they are accused of wrongdoing, and ignore the (D) when they are accused. Here is a story that seems to take it to a new level. http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20051128/pl_af...HNlYwMlJVRPUCUl The sample line I am complaining about is WHY was that mentioned? There will always be republicans in government. 20 years from now, will they still be representing George Bush's party? This is a new low in reporting, I think. Blatant and unmasked attempt to tie Cunningham's corruption to Bush. And people wonder why we complain about bias in the media.
  3. BEARSSSSSSSSS 102 Packers 3 and their field goal is set up after a long kick return.
  4. QUOTE(sec159row2 @ Dec 2, 2005 -> 11:56 AM) can't remember where i got this link, hugh hewitt or wmca... but someone is trying to start a campaign to send the ACLU a christmas card... here's their address: ACLU 125 Broad Street, 18th floor, New York , NY 10004 here's the link... it's a christian radio station in new york... http://www.wmca.com/weblogs/kmc/date11302005.aspx i was hoping this would have it's own thread... but i don't make the rules.. i just try to break 'em.. There was a group that gathered a few hundred people in front of ACLU headquarters and sang Christmas Carols. I thought that was awesome. Personally, however, Id be more inclined to leave them a burning bag of s*** in their lobby for Christmas.
  5. Blackhawkzone.com is a great board for the Slacks.
  6. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Nov 29, 2005 -> 11:11 PM) Hell, just ask those in the chat the 1st night of the Rally Crede. I was the only person that was calm. I believed in the power from the beginning. As I remember it was FUGLY in there that night.
  7. QUOTE(KevHead0881 @ Dec 1, 2005 -> 03:38 PM) Because the stuff he writes inspires reaction, which is the point of his column. Look through the SoxTalk archives and count the amount of threads dedicated to columns he has written...and you'll see exactly why he's still employed. ^^^^^^^^^^^
  8. QUOTE(fathom @ Dec 1, 2005 -> 10:33 PM) I think with the 3-4-5 we have next year, we're betting off not bunting as much as we did last year. Thome's not exactly the type of guy you can rely on to hit a sac fly. Rather, you play for the 3 run homer with our 3-4 guys. Id much rather have Pods and GOOCH getting on base consistently and setting the table for 3-4-5 rather than Pods getting on base and Uribe swinging at the ball as its being thrown back to the pitcher and making outs.
  9. I have 2 that I never miss and they are South Park and that show on Discovery Channel called "Dirty Jobs". What are you guys' favorites?
  10. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Dec 1, 2005 -> 10:25 PM) ^^^^^^^^ The BMac who pitched against Boston and Texas could win the Cy Young award next year, if he keeps that up for a whole season. Thats why he needs to get a full season of starts in. You can't develop skills like that on a consistent basis without experience. Duque is an awesome ace in the hole in long relief if the kid, or anyone else for that matter, gets in hot water early in a game.
  11. QUOTE(Sox Hustler @ Dec 1, 2005 -> 10:22 PM) You can't really count Gooch's numbers because he would take pitches just for Pods to take a look at the pitchers move and also let him steal. Then after pods does his thing then Gooch would sacrifice to move Pods over. Thats what made Gooch so good in that 2 spot. If Uribe isn't working out or our offense isn't getting it done in the 1st inning like last season Gooch needs to be move back. If we bring in Pierre then he bats second and Gooch bats 7th. Barring that then Gooch needs to bat second again. I dont think he's too worried about his role with the team now that he has that shiny ring on his finger.
  12. I think its really high time for BMAC to get a full season in as a starter. Duque is too fragile to start the whole season and having him as long relief would be awesome. If he's not happy with that role then thanks for bailing us out that one game but its time to take your services elsewhere.
  13. QUOTE(fathom @ Dec 1, 2005 -> 10:13 PM) Uribe to the 2nd spot? I acutally like it, but we're going to have to deal with his prolonged slumps. We simply cant have someone who is an automatic out for long stretches batting second. Look for Uribe back batting 8th or 9th like he always does.
  14. QUOTE(GreatScott82 @ Dec 1, 2005 -> 11:36 AM) Carmy and Silvy just said negoitations are off. He will go to arbitration and expect a large chunck of change for the '06 season. He will test the market after the season. This is good news and bad news for us. The good news is Jon G. will pitch his heart out for another season. The bad news is- this might be his final season in a Sox uniform. Other starters: Buerhle signed through '07, Garcia signed through '07, This is El-duque and Contreras' last year of there contracts also. Yikes! Lets enjoy the ride at least one more time with this pitching staff. I dont see why we cant bring back most, if not all, of these guys with another sucessful season and the increased ticket sales its going to produce.
  15. QUOTE(Texsox @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 05:41 PM) I felt and wrote after the Thome signing that in a typical Sox move they were going to sign 35-year old + injury @ 7.2 mil *instead of* 29-year old + All-Star + Division MVP @ $12-$15 mil. I thought the chances were slimer than none that Konerko would be a Sox player in 2006. I am happy to admit I was verrrrrrry wrong. We've all had to eat our share of crow over what we all said about this team and its players. I dont think anyone minds though cause when you wash it down with World Series Champagne its all just fine.
  16. KW........just go ahead and take the rest of the winter off. You've earned it.
  17. QUOTE(SoxFan562004 @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 01:04 PM) Heard on ESPN Radio that Bonds is going to be on Team USA for the World Cup... unreal, that makes me sick, this guy is a joke, and to add to it he's reporting he is going to drop 40lbs for next year... unreal, he'll say it's for speed and his knees, and they'll still celebrate his HRs What a sorry state of affairs when we have a s***bag like this representing the USA. Dropping 40 lbs shouldn't be too tough for a guy coming off roids also.
  18. QUOTE(spataro51 @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 01:04 PM) tell me about it. when we got thome i only felt this was half the piece of the puzzle that needed to be in place and now i am even happier. On the score they replayed the grand slam that konerko hit and it gave me the biggest chills. You need to do something about that signature of yours dude.
  19. QUOTE(SoxFan562004 @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 12:50 PM) LOL, you have to love the Score sometimes. They're the only local sportsradio on right now and Murph is reading Bears e-mails.... :headshake It might be he's pissed as a Cubs fan, I know he spent a lot of time basically saying how screwed the Sox will be if PK leaves, and he thought it was going to happen Who really cares what bastard Flubbs fans think?! This is yet another in a long series of happy days for Sox fans.,, CAN YOU SAY DYNASTY?!?!?!?!?
  20. God damn what a monster lineup we're gonna have this year...... Its gonna be a good year for souviners in the bleachers at the Cell WOO HOO!!!!
  21. QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 12:39 PM) most of the time it's because I'm being made fun of You're such an easy target though.
  22. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 12:24 PM) How about an artificial hip? How about a bionic hip.
