  1. QUOTE(ScottPodRulez22 @ Jun 8, 2005 -> 09:30 PM) Nice job by Carl tonight! Hes been on fire lately. Nice to see him Dead and Kong getting their act together.
  2. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jun 8, 2005 -> 09:05 PM) If keeps the s*** low and in the park, we should handle these mutha f***ers easily. As long as the pen doesn't piss itself, but they've been solid lately so we should be good to go.
  3. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jun 8, 2005 -> 09:01 PM) f*** that, we can win this s*** regardless. Damn Right. Duque seems to have his s*** together at least for now.
  4. Gooch with a nice gapper to tie it up. HELL YEAH!!
  5. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jun 8, 2005 -> 06:19 PM) If you want to see minor league scrubs who can't make it in the NHL, fine with me. I'll stick with Ruutu, Vandermeer, McCarthy, Arny, Calder, and Bell, along with the influx of guys like Seabrook and Barker. Owner aside -- yes, we realize he's s***, but for the first time in awhile, this team is cleared of crappy veterans like Korolev and Krapotsev. b**** at Wirtz all you want, but leave the players out of it, 'cause they're much more fun than watching AAAA scrubs. You can call the Wolves scrubs all you want to. They win hockey games and keep their fans entertained and that's more than I can say about the Slacks. If this were 10 years ago I would totally agree but not now. I've wasted far too much of my money going to see the Slacks get shut out at home and skate around like they have better things to do. Maybe some fresh faces will help matters on the enthusiasm side but half of the players you mentioned will be gone as soon as it comes time for their first big contract. Its all a question of whether I'm getting my money's worth and when I go to a Wolves game I pay half as much and I go away happy. The last time I walked away happy from a Hawks game was back in 1996.
  6. QUOTE(robin_ventura_eternal @ Jun 8, 2005 -> 05:56 PM) im not telling you or anyone how to act, im just saying that you jumped all over me for making a joke, and again, you missed the sarcasm when i said humor wasnt allowed. i only found out about the green font thing earlier today, so give me a break. The more time you spend around here you'll realize that there are those who are rather .....uptight. Just let that roll off your back and enjoy yourself.
  7. QUOTE(robinventura23 @ Jun 8, 2005 -> 05:50 PM) Here are the lineups: Ozuna 3B Iguchi 2B Rowand CF Konerko 1B Everett LF Dye RF Widger C Uribe SS El Duque Rox Sullivan CF Relaford SS Helton 1B Holliday LF Hawpe RF Atkins 3B Garabito 2B Ardoin C Francis Glad to see Gooch back in the lineup. I knew Pods would get the night off. Glad to see Ozuna in there for Cruddy tonight and thank god we're not getting a timo sighting tonight.
  8. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Jun 8, 2005 -> 03:11 PM) What is really sad I that I don't care anymore. My Dad had season tickets for the Hawks for 26 years, and I had gone to at least 25 Hawk games a year before the strike, and I really dont care at this point. Sad, Sad, Sad. It'll be nice to see the NHL back but I dont give 2 s***s about the Slackhawks. I was a Hawks fan from the time I was 5 years old up until like 3 years ago. I was still a really big fan up until Roenick was traded for that pussy Zhamnov and then things started to slide, after Belfour was cut loose for nothing I got more pissed and the final straw was when they let Amonte go because they didn't want to pay him. f*** this team. Even our former rivals the Red Wings and Blues don't even take us seriously enough anymore to call us "rivals". Dollar Bill Wirtz is all about screwing the fans over. He'll squeeze more and more money out of the fans every season and put out a team that is just interesting enough to keep bringing out a few thousand die hards a night. I feel kind of sorry for those who actually still go to Hawks games because they spend about 100 bucks a pop ( between a ticket, parking, concessions etc....) to watch the Slacks get shutout at home by the Blue Jackets or somebody else that sucks. You know this team isin't going to spend money on a quality free agent and god forbid one of their rookies becomes a star because that will just add to the heartbreak when the team refuses to pay him what he's worth and he skips town ( and rightfully so ). As long as Dollar Bill and his cadre of yes-men are running this team they wont get one thin dime out of me.
  9. QUOTE(Pauly8509CWS @ Jun 8, 2005 -> 03:54 PM) I seriously hope this is true , I can't wait for REAL hockey, not sideshow Chicago Wolves BS. Real hockey? What's more entertaining? A team that charges big money for everything from parking to admission to beer which lays down for NHL powerhouses like the Columbus Blue Jackets and loses 2-0 with like 15 shots on goal or a minor leauge team that actually cares about winning and is in the championship series as we speak? My vote goes to the latter.
  10. QUOTE(Dam8610 @ Jun 7, 2005 -> 11:07 PM) Who is bashing Ozzie? We've all observed what happens in the third game of a series that we take the first two in. Ozzie goes into "Get everyone PT" mode INSTEAD OF PLAYING FOR THE SWEEP. He puts lineups that make no sense for any reason other than the aforementioned one in the third game of a lot of series. If you observe the same behavior in a situation over and over and over, then why is it criticism to point out your observation when a similar situation comes up? Like I've been saying, If Oz wants to get his bench players some time and give the starters a rest he'd be a lot better served if he'd work in 1 guy at a time instead of throwing out the entire second string in the 3rd game of a series like he so often does.
  11. I dont like talk about conspiracies or curses or jinxes or whatever. Those are excuses that players/teams make for poor play and failing to advance to the next level and they are rather lame excuses at that. In this case his statement doesn't make much sense because the schedule is weighted toward division play and people just LOVE to harp on the fact that the AL east is tougher than the central. Additionally, even if their interleauge schedule is easier than ours is ( which I doubt ) it isin't helping them any because both the Spanks and the BoSox are playing like s*** this year. Someone tell Carl the game is played on the field, not in that little room where the schedules are made.
  12. QUOTE(jasonxctf @ Jun 8, 2005 -> 02:25 PM) http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2004/pages/res...0/epolls.0.html Let me just preface this with the fact that Dean should not have said this. However it's pretty true. The only categories that Bush actually won were men, christians or caucasians. From these numbers below you would think that Kerry would have won. It just shows how important getting out your party base is. Males: Bush 55% Kerry 44% Females: Kerry 51% Bush 48% White Men: Bush 62% Kerry 37% White Women: Bush 55% Kerry 44% Non-White Men: Kerry 67% Bush 30% Non-White Women: Kerry 75% Bush 24% Overall Whites: Bush 58% Kerry 41% Overall African Americans: Kerry 88% Bush 11% Overall Latinos: Kerry 53% Bush 44% Overal Asians: Kerry 56% Bush 44% Others: Kerry 54% Bush 40% Protestants: Bush 59% Kerry 40% Catholic: Bush 52% Kerry 47% Jewish: Kerry 74% Bush 25% Other: Kerry 74% Bush 23% None: Kerry 67% Bush 31% The Republican party is always going to have trouble getting their message across to blacks especially when their "leaders" like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton command so much attention. Its REALLY annoying to me that prominent black officials such as Clarance Thomas, Condi Rice and Colin Powell when he was in are referred to Uncle Toms and traitors to their race for having conservative political views. Hispanics are another story though. Republicans are making very solid gains among that voting bloc and that bodes well for them as they are the fastest growing of the minority groups. They actually pay attention to and appreciate that the Bush Administration has made an effort to include them at the highest levels of government.
  13. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 04:08 PM) Citigroup has now joined the ranks of the companies that have lost huge amounts of customer data that can be incredibly useful in identity theft. This includes such data as Social Security numbers and birthdates. It seems that Citibank decided it would be a good idea to just ship unencrypted data using UPS. I have 2 credit cards with Citibank. I'm sitting here today wondering if their incompetence might someday jeopardize my ability to buy a car or a house. It seems now that almost every week, there is another reported case of a major U.S. company being incredibly careless with its customers personal data. THIS MUST STOP. The federal government gave a massive handout to the credit card companies a few weeks ago in the form of a bill making bankruptcy more difficult for all but the richest Americans. Now its time we get something in return. There must be federal legislation passed to give companies a reason to protect the private information of their customers. Right now, the only thing that can happen to punish Citibank for this is that they may lose some customers, while in the meantime, if someone gets their hands on that data...3.9 million people could have their credit histories permanently screwed up, and have to spend years of their lives paying higher costs for credit before they get them fixed. This situation can not stand. This must be fixed. I have a citibank credit card myself so I took a long hard look at the report but it seems that the data was limited to the consumer loan areas and there was no mention of credit card customers so I think we are ok. Reports like this one are VERY disturbing though.
  14. QUOTE(robinventura23 @ Jun 7, 2005 -> 10:02 PM) Finally reached that elusive 20 games over .500!!! Anyone want to join me on the Neal Cotts bandwagon? Anyway, I don't think Ozzie will mess with the lineup. There's an offday Thursday, so he'll probably be going for the kill. However, Everett will probably be out there tomorrow for Pods with the lefty going. Just a hunch. I'm not ready to jump on his bandwagon just yet but I am quite pleased to see him turn things around. As of right now he's lights out.
  15. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jun 8, 2005 -> 11:10 AM) Last week it was Chavez, This week Timo, next week we will find another thing to put our collective eye on. I can think of a few more things for Sox fans to obsess over aside from Timo. You know...... like how Contreras has been pitching his ass off lately? Or how about the recent replacement of Neil Cotts with some guy in a Cotts uniform who knows how to pitch? Maybe how Dead has gone through some shock therapy and has been upgraded to serious but stable condition? I love bashing players when they screw up but I also like giving credit where its due and those 3 are certainly deserving of some props lately.
  16. QUOTE(qwerty @ Jun 8, 2005 -> 11:46 AM) It is retarded. Funny, you seem to enjoy hearing it in the game chat when something good happens. :rolly
  17. Is our pitching that f***ing good or do they just suck that bad. They have 4 runs in 2 games in the best hitters park in baseball. CONTRERAS COTTS EAT s*** COLORADO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GIMMIE A HELL YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!
  18. Who kidnapped Cotts and replaced him with this guy who knows how to pitch?!?!?! Jesus he's been filthy lately.
  19. This is absolutely hilarious to me. Folks on this board and a great number of people on the left made fun of Bush for being a "C" student then turning around and saying how brilliant Kerry was. What a crock of s*** that argument was.
  20. QUOTE(retro1983hat @ Jun 7, 2005 -> 08:35 AM) It's a good point. I just want this team to go for the kill when it has the chance. But Ozzie doesn't always do it. In Game 3 at Wrigley, he did put his best line up out there behind BMac. Hopefully our B team can get a sweep soon. If Oz would rotate in one bench player a game Id like it a lot better than if he just threw out the crap Sunday lineup every few days. I think our chances of winning would be a lot better in that situation.
  21. Berman needs to stick to doing NFL prime time and thats it. He makes me sick when he talks about anything other than football.
  22. Whats the prize for the winning guess? A 6 pack of Pabst Blue Ribbon courtesy of ABOZ?
  23. I said Null vote because I can't decide. Yeah Frank basically IS White Sox baseball and has been since like 1990 he is defenitely injury prone these days and that being the case you need a guy like Carl around to pick up the slack if we lose Frank again. Thing about Carl is that he can play the field, even though he scares me out there sometimes, whereas Frank will never play the field again. How bout we keep em both and ship Timo as far away from Chicago as we possibly can?
  24. QUOTE(DonkeyKongerko @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 09:38 PM) Shingo is gonna give up a seven spot here with two out. Scotty NO!
  25. Bats wake up and keep stuffing it down COL's throat and Garcia owns after a nasty 1st inning. EAT s*** ROCKIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GIMMIE A HELL YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!
