QUOTE(DBAH0 @ May 10, 2005 -> 10:31 PM) Damn I really got to get in quicker on these game threads (DBAH0's 05 record 1-0). Mine's up there too. back atcha. LOL! -
QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ May 10, 2005 -> 10:24 PM) Quick quiz.... Who leads the Sox in Blown Saves? Hermanson

RIP EM!!!!!!!

That's gonna hurt the Cardinals for sure but they have a lot of weapons on that team and his fellow players should be able to pick up the slack.

After tough losses like tonights
NUKE_CLEVELAND replied to Wise Master Buehrle's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(Rooftop Shots @ May 10, 2005 -> 09:39 PM) I'll guarantee that you'll see our pitching staff throwing strikes tomorrow. Also El Duque is going against someone who I think has a 6. ERA. I think you'll see us with a victory tomorrow. I think so too. No way does this team get swept by a team like the Rays. -
After tough losses like tonights

I was worried about this when the series started. Its pretty clear to me that we're looking ahead to Baltimore and totally forgetting about the games at hand against the Devil Rays. -
QUOTE(doUrememberwhen @ May 10, 2005 -> 09:23 PM) possible nickname for motivation--- s***bo tas***poo? No dude. Sleepy had the best one I've heard. TaKOCHsu. Brilliant!!!

QUOTE(JimH @ May 10, 2005 -> 09:30 PM) I agree but the clutch hitting is not there. They manufactured a few runs but left a few big runners out there too. 9 walks, poor location on pitches, at least one poor defensive decision. That's basically it. You can't walk 9 batters and expect to win. Contreras and Dookie and their walks are just maddening.

It's all Pessi's fault. He wasn;t there and we got jinxed. LOL

I'm a few months shy of 27. I lived in Chicago until I was 20 when I enlisted in the Army. Since then I lived in Georgia for 5 years, then spent a year between Kuwait & Iraq, then a year in Korea. Nowadays I live in some podunk town in southern Arizona. I plan on moving back to Chicago at the end of next year when I get out of the Army.

You have to love how the LA Times portrays a situation like this. Cop = perp & perp = good guy. Here's a guy rolling around the neighborhood, high as a kite by his own admission playing stupid games with the police ( stopping then rolling away again as they get out ), almost takes out a house with his SUV, then backs up toward police officers. It's probably a fact lost on the LA Times staff writers but when you drive a vehicle toward dismounted police officers that is a direct threat on their lives and they have the right to use deadly force to end the threat.

QUOTE(Texsox @ May 10, 2005 -> 05:32 AM) A couple years ago we had alosing record to the Tigers as they lost over 100. It seems this team always struggles with what should be easier wins. Yesterdays loss nonwithstanding I think we're doing a fine job beating up on the easier teams so far this year. Our record against KC, Detoilet and Cleveland speaks to that.

QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ May 10, 2005 -> 07:16 AM) You can't stop him ........you can only hope to contain him.
-
QUOTE(JimH @ May 10, 2005 -> 07:55 AM) I don't think he's making a personal statement, at least outwardly. Seems to me he's writing from the perspective of the Cubs fans and perhaps the Cubs organization. I didn't take it as one either but it was funny none the less.

The rest of the article is a cry-fest about the Flubbs pissing away quality young arms but this really stood out and made me laugh my fool head off. Gotta love watching a moron like this implode just like his scrub baseball team is.

LaChoke Hawkins blows it again (almost)
NUKE_CLEVELAND replied to Jabroni's topic in The Diamond Club
QUOTE(Jordan4life_2004 @ May 10, 2005 -> 12:08 AM) I totally agree. Hawkins can't possibly be this bad. Dusty and the Flubs have f***ed him up for life. He was aquired to be the set-up guy, not the closer. He's blown so many games as a closer, he doesn't even have the confidence to go out there in the eighth. Isin't it amazing what that team does to people? I don't know what they're smoking up there on the N. side but that team is totally f***ED! -

QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 9, 2005 -> 10:54 PM) The Flubs' offense is now ours of the past few years. If they don't hit a couple 3-run homers, they lose. Wow, LaChoke has 3 losses in the Flubs' last 5 games! That just fuakin RAWKS!!!!!! hahahahaha Couldn't happen to a nicer bunch. -
That's a White Sox Wi....sorry force of habit
NUKE_CLEVELAND replied to danman31's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(danman31 @ May 9, 2005 -> 08:03 PM) Haha, this is a frivalous thread but it's hard to believe this team lost a game. Cheers to 24-8. Yeah, these threads have been pretty much an automatic thing the last little while. -
QUOTE(Athomeboy_2000 @ May 9, 2005 -> 02:54 PM) Al Capone was brought down by tax issues. And he also contracted syphllis which killed him.
-
QUOTE(whitesoxin' @ May 9, 2005 -> 07:33 PM) It's final. Twins get shutout, 3-0. Only 3 hits for the Twinkees. Let's come back and take a 5.5 game lead! Works for me. No harm done to our division lead.
-
QUOTE(gettysburg32 @ May 9, 2005 -> 08:09 PM) YEAH! Make 'em eat s***! That's what was missing tonight, yeah, EAT s*** YOU s***FACES! Ok, Nuke, you can take it from there. I know what happened......I had to work late today so thats why we lost. That's ok, they're gonna eat twice as much s*** in this game to make up for them beating us today.

Game Thread 5-9-2005 Sox .vs. Rays
NUKE_CLEVELAND replied to NUKE_CLEVELAND's topic in 2005 Season in Review
QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 9, 2005 -> 08:04 PM) How many times is that fat slob going to change his opinion? He ripped on the Sox at first but now he likes them? You can't argue with success.
